With footpaths from the farm in all directions you can join the South West Coast Path or just ramble down to the village where there are shops, cafes and pubs a plenty.
With full flushing toilets and hot showers, as well as a washing up area, there is even an old railway carriage with electric plugs to charge your phone or dry your hair, with a fridge and freezer to look after your supper too.
We are a small site focusing on that quiet get-away. There is no road noise, just the farmer going about his day job, who’s more than happy to chat about the wildlife, birds and weather!

If you are happy walking, there is so much to do in the area, you need not get back in your car again for the duration of your stay !
The campsite at Lower Terawhiti Farm may be laid back and simple but it has everything you need to have a fabulous affordable holiday here in the South Hams.
Pitches are large and spacious at 10m x 10m, and the rest of the field is there for children to run free, roam and cycle to their heart's content.
There is no electric hook up on site but we do offer hot water, fridges, freezers, USB charging and you can have barbeques. How better to spend the evening than round a fire pit ! Hire one from us or bring your own.

Fire Beacon Camping is a fabulous location for a countryside escape, 1.5 miles along a traditional Devon country lane, when you arrive the views of Devon countryside, will not disappoint! This is a tranquil, off grid nearly wild campsite, with a strong eco ethos and boasts an outdoor shower under the trees with views across to Exmoor, composting toilet facilities, a washing up area and recycling facilities. Biodegradable washing products are provided as all the grey water is reused. Pathways are cut through the meadow to access the facilities, the wildlife is abundant, all the pitches are extremely generously sized and a Fire Pit provided for each one.
It's a 10 minute drive to Sidmouth with its beautiful beaches and wide range of Independent shops, Cafes and pubs, and 10 minutes drive in the opposite direction to Ottery St Mary, which also boasts a wide range of Independent shops, there are also plenty of Farm Shops in the area.
There is no end of wonderful beaches to explore along the Jurassic coastline. From Fossil hunting in Lyme Regis to the East, the quaint fishing village of Beer to massive golden sandy beaches in Exmouth to the west.
With lots of woodland walks on the 'doorstep' the East Devon Way is a 5 minute walk away, 15 minutes walk to the Fire Beacon Nature Reserve and for keen hikers, we're close to the South West Coast Path.
For mountain bikers, there are some great routes in the local woodlands and bike routes are also close by with the challenging River Exe Loop and family bike routes along the Otter river less than 15 minutes’ drive away.

Overview
Known for charming villages, fossil-rich coastlines, and expansive moorlands, Devon provides many pet-friendly camping opportunities in South West England for the whole family. Much of Dartmoor National Park’s moorlands, working farms, and archaeological sites are open to four-legged family members. However, the park requires dogs to stay on lead near livestock, during lambing and nesting season (1 March–31 July) and in warm weather. Campers and their pets can stay in one of the park’s campsites, which typically feature showers, flush toilets, and launderettes. At the southern end of Devon, South Devon Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a hiker’s dream with trails that take campers through farmland, coastlines, estuaries, scenic countrysides, and to notable landmarks like Dartmouth Castle and Compass Cove. South Devon has many dog-friendly beaches, though some do not permit dogs during summer months. Instow Beach, Saunton Sands, and Soar Mill Cove are all lovely beaches to take your pooch, provided you have poo bags in tow. The area’s pet-friendly camping spots provide parks and walks where dogs can run free next to meandering streams for quick cool downs. From Dartmoor to Exeter, Plymouth to Torquay, some of the UK's most popular and prettiest towns and cities can be found in this county.
