Andrea is pleased to offer a little luxury for those who want to camp at Downshay Farm in a comfortable bed. Farm is a working farm in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, ideally located for exploring the stunning World Heritage Site coastline. The Pike family has farmed here since 1956. The farmhouse is largely Victorian although parts of the house and some farm buildings are much older. The accommodation looks out over the lovely views of Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills. The seaside town of Swanage is just over 4 miles away as are the sandy beaches of Studland Bay. Local footpaths and Swanage Steam Railway also make exploring Purbeck easy, and we are a few minutes’ walk from Harmans Cross Station. Enjoy the sandy beaches of Shell Bay, Studland and Swanage or go rock pooling or fossil hunting at Kimmeridge Bay. The Coastal Path will take you along the coast to Durlston Country Park, Dancing Ledge and Winspit. Absolute gem of a find. The location is great and the shepherds hut is super cosy with all the added extras. Bed was lovely a comfy too! We had a super stay and enjoyed the peace and quiet, could hear all the birds singing ! We loved having a fire in the evening in the chimera provided. We could see Corfe Castle from the hut and was a great view.
We will definitely be back. Our host Andrea was very friendly , helpful and responsive . Thankyou for a lovely stay

Incredible view and great bird watching opportunity’s the birds would sing and fly around which was great to watch. Richard was lovely an accommodating he came to great us with his cute dog. The lack of light pollution ment the stars were super bright and many of them. Woudo defo recommend this stay

I think how busy a campsite is says a lot! Stayed two nights and each morning woke to a lot more vans than where there when I went to bed. It was so popular! Great location, shortish walk into Stockbridge and if you fancy a longer countryside amble you can head to Danebury Iron Age HillFort. Good amenities, heated toilets and shower which is great in early march.

We had a really lovely stay in the Bustard Hut. It was peaceful, quaint, and beautifully designed. The interior was unique and thoughtfully put together, and the hut had great facilities considering its limited kitchen space.
The little touches like the marshmallows, bread, and condiments were very much appreciated.
The only downsides were that the hut wasn’t quite as private as it appeared in the pictures, as we could see and be seen by the neighbouring hut from the hot tub, which wasn’t quite what we imagined. Also, there weren’t any trolleys available on arrival, so there was a lot of back and forth with bags since you can’t park next to the hut.
A few things that would be useful to have are some barbecue tools and maybe a fire mitt, as we had to use kitchen utensils to manage the fire. Overall, we had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the thoughtful touches throughout.

Lovely spacious site. Loos and showers immaculately clean.
Christina was super helpful recommending bike rides and lending us an an OS map. The real clincher though was the easy access to the neighbouring woodland/forest for dog walking.

Loved staying here for 5 nights. The views are amazing, the limited pitches mean that everyone has private space and you don’t feel on top of each other. The bathrooms and washing facilities are great and the sun heated water was always perfect temperature.
Something to make it feel even more private would be to really encourage meadow flowers or longer grass between the pitches to allow the private paths to each tent to feel extra special and allow for the space to feel even more private and hidden from the other tents.

We only stayed one night as a trial so we didn’t get out & about, but the toilets/showers were clean, and the washing up shed (with charging dock) was very useful. The warden came to lend us a hammer when we were clearly struggling with our mallet, and David’s son very kindly offered help as we had car trouble. It felt like a ‘nice’, safe place to be with our young daughter.

I love camping on Christina's land. Some may think it's very basic with portaloo's ( always smell nice and are always clean) and porta- showers ( which are lovely and hot and clean) but for us it's perfect especially for the kids and dog- not a phone in sight. We have camped there three times and will definitely be returning. Christina can not do enough for you, and always greeted with a smile.

Lovely small campsite with a very generous flat pitch for our tent. We had a wonderful stay with lovely walks along the stour and close to Sherborne and Shaftesbury which are picturesque little towns. Amenities were good with hot showers and washing up area. We did not take advantage of the organic food available to buy, but a very nice touch. Would definitely return for another stay.

A little piece of heaven! 💫
Stayed for 4 nights but felt I could’ve lived there. So well thought out and finished to a really high standard. The bed was so comfortable and the trip gave me everything I needed. The toilet block was a stones throw away, with hot showers.
The sunset views were a dream - thank you!

Both me and my son absolutely loved our mini getaway, the campsite is such a hidden gem. You can travel by foot in the nearby area if you follow the public footpath as you leave the campsite, plenty of cafes, pubs and shops which is great!
Also fire pits and wood available which is always a bonus, highly recommend this campsite to everyone and will be returning 😊
