Please note: We have three 'Overnighter' sites these are instant book for weary travelers and not meant as full on camping sites. Site 1 and site 2 Antelope or #3 please refrain from booking unless you are traveling through - All other camp sites require a minimum of 24 hours notice this allows for getting the sites ready - so if you want to camp here please note this requirement If you are traveling w a bumper pull of any type you need to book Big Rig ( soon to be named Art Camp) this is our only pull through camp site all others only tiny teardrops, cassettes, tents, vans, cars, or cab overs. If you need an instant book please reach out by text we will try an accommodate 775-221/0001 text please Bobcat is great for tents, cars, vans, small trucks, no bumper pulls Camping here is low activity experience as in there is hiking up in the National Forest or just hanging out in your camp site, or bring your camera, notebook and binoculars, or road bike. When you come to camp here you are on a farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes. If you would like fresh veggies contact Prema Farm one day BEFORE arrival - Please come visit in April May and June it is some of the most green and lush times in the high desert. It can also bring snow, winds, and rain. Be prepared- look at the forecast and contact me directly if you have concerns If fall is your thing prepare for cool Nights but incredible sunsets and sunrises/ SKEETERS are around we also recommend tents have a rain fly and ground cloth. Welcome It was important to choose a partner like Hipcamp to invite like minded individuals who respect both the natural environment and the idea of less is more. At any time you may encounter farming activities, building out of tiny houses, gardens in the process of creation, snakes, bugs, ticks, and wild animals. As we move toward offering the land as a place to both find solitude or chosen participation our Flyte and Sparrow experience will hopefully be a place you will want to return to as your own tradition.

# Peaceful Prairie Campsites Visit us and discover why Hipcamp has named Peaceful Prairie Campsites the **best Hipcamp to visit in Nebraska for the past three years.** Bordering the south side of Scotts Bluff National Monument, with private foot access into the park, we're less than two miles from Highway 71—making us **easy to find, easy to love, and easy to leave**, according to hundreds of guests who have shared their positive recommendations. Peaceful Prairie Campsites encompasses **200+ acres of beautiful prairie pasture bordering Scotts Bluff National Monument.** Under the care of fourth-generation steward Lisa Betz-Marquez, the dramatic bluffs create a stunning backdrop for those seeking a private and peaceful experience, birding and wildlife watching, or an adventure-seeking hike. ### A Great Home Base for Exploring Western Nebraska Our location also makes Peaceful Prairie a wonderful home base for exploring some of western Nebraska's most iconic landscapes and Oregon Trail history. In fact, you don't have to drive anywhere to experience our biggest attraction: **our prairie shares a boundary with Scotts Bluff National Monument**, and guests enjoy private foot access from our property into the south side of the Monument for hiking and exploring. The Monument's visitor center and historic Summit Road are only about 3 miles away by road. **Legacy of the Plains Museum is about 3 miles away, Wildcat Hills Nature Center about 11 miles, and iconic Chimney Rock just over 20 miles away.** Spend the day exploring, then come home to the prairie for sunset, wildlife, wide-open skies, and spectacular stargazing. ### Camping on the Prairie Our rustic prairie sites—welcoming tents, cars, vans, rooftop tents, truck campers, and motorcycles—are located directly on the prairie. RVs and pull-behind trailers are not permitted on the prairie sites. The prairie is a fragile environment, and protecting it is important to us. To preserve its beauty and health, trailers and RVs must book one of our designated RV sites. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us care for this special landscape. Our **RV sites offer 50-amp electricity** and a rustic camping experience on crushed concrete near our corral, with foot access to the prairie just steps away. All sites share access to delicious potable water from our underground well, a clean porta potty, and our funky outdoor camp shower with unheated water. Guests also enjoy private foot access to hiking at various levels of challenge on the south side of Scotts Bluff National Monument. A small group of yearling cattle calls the prairie home during portions of the summer and may share the prairie camping area with guests, particularly during May and June. Prairie guests have relished the feeling of having the place to themselves—to experience the majesty of the landscape, the magic of our star-filled night skies, and a soulful communion with the land. ### A Landscape With a Story Lisa is the **fourth generation of her family to live on Valley View Farm**, located directly south of the prairie. Her family has stewarded these lands since 1925, but her family's roots in the valley reach even further back. Lisa descends from one of the area's pioneer families. Her ancestor, **Martin Gering, arrived in the valley in 1887** and became an early investor in the fledgling town that would eventually bear his name: Gering, Nebraska. If you're a history buff, ask Lisa to tell you more. There's a lot of history beneath these wide-open skies.

This 200 acre property is located within the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument, a land bridge where two mountain ranges meet, creating immense biodiversity and natural beauty. Soda Spring is a bourgeoning community tended land located on the unceded territories of the Shasta, Takilma, Latgawa and Klamath peoples, just 10 minutes from the south end of Ashland, Oregon. The property is primarily oak savannah and pastureland, with adjacent fir/pine and madrone/manzanita forests and hillsides. The land sits in a valley where both Soda Creek and Carter Creek enter in to Emigrant Creek as it flows onward to Emigrant Lake, just a mile away. The land is being stewarded by a small group of humans and large community of wildlife and insects. Together we are slowly creating something special... including community event and classroom spaces, gardens, orchards, holistically managed ranch lands, campgrounds and wild places. Please note that we are a working farm with sheep, cattle, horses, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats, pigeons and bees. We ask that you are considerate to all the life happening on the land, observing animals at a distance (except the cats, who will not allow for that) and being aware of electric fences. If you bring dogs to the land, (an option only with RV sites) do so at your own risk. Dogs will need to be leashed at all times and cleaned up after meticulously. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe and the land well cared for. Currently there are two vintage trailers and two RV sites available. 4 MINUTE DRIVE TO DOWNTOWN PLACERVILLE! And a 5 min walk to the bike path that leads to downtown. The French Pasture is a beautiful campsite surrounded by an oak, plum and apricot tree. There is a small 1 minute hike through the land from the parking spot to the campsite. The camp has a wooden picnic table with a canopy. The photo shows a two person tent but the site can fit a 10x10 foot tent. A few things to consider: 1. We do have a fire pit, but the area for the fire is not leveled yet (as the camp and table section is). Coming soon! 2. There is a portable shower and portable toilet option. Hot water is not available. (See photos). 3. The freeway can be heard from the campsite. The positives: 1. Downtown Placerville is only a 3 -5 minute drive. There is also a bike trail walking distance from the campsite to downtown that is an approximate 15 minute walk. 3. Morning coffee will be provided by hosts. We have a Golden Doodle Dog that may greet you at your campsite. Enjoy your stay at the French Pasture Campsite!
