From the moment I booked until the time I left, my experience with Joan was truly memorable. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and welcoming, and her hospitality and kindness were exceptional. The accommodations were lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Meadow campsite

We absolutely loved it. Joan was super nice. Spot was spacious and private. We stayed at the meadows. The dogs were great and there was alot to see and do. We definitely hope to visit again.

It was a really nice spot. I was asking a hammock tent so the amount of trees in this spot really helped. Had a picnic bench as well as a fire pit all of which came in handy.

My husband and I stayed at Pine the Sky for two days, and it was wonderful! We arrived a little late on Friday, around 8:30pm, yet Joan was there to greet us and welcome us in. She was very friendly, and brought her two lovely dogs over to say hello the following day after hearing we are dog lovers! We purchased some firewood for $10, which lasted us a couple hours. There is a dish washing station (soap provided), a portapotty, a river with some canoes and kayaks, as well as a camp cupboard with some supplies. Thank you Joan for your hospitality, and for treating us like family! All the best to you!

Pine the sky - bunkie stay

Arrived at pine, the sky around 3 PM. And was checked in and met by the owner immediately. Joan is a doll, she's so amazing and welcoming , and so is the property. My stay in the bunkie was phenomenal, comfy beds, warm, clean linens and even a heater. I brought my dog, and he immediately became great pals with Joan's 2 dogs who are so funny and friendly. The property is private and so well maintained. Even though it rained almost the entire time, I stayed warm and dry in my cabin. Walked the property with dogs and saw lots of great foliage and fauna, including some grouse and frogs. I recommend this stay for everyone 👌 Many thanks to Joan for making our stay memorable and comfortable

Love Pine in the Sky

We are repeat visitors to Pine in the Sky. We have been coming to Joans place for many years! Camping or glamping at Joans is fun and the break you really need!! When we met Joan she was our fabulous host now she is a friend! You will not be disappointed!

Overall, a great stay!

I really enjoyed my time at Pine the Sky, the host was really nice with my wife and I. The sky at night is full of stars and if you want to make a fire, Joan sells firewood for $10 a bag, but you can bring your own too. Even though there were more people there we still had privacy with our campsite near the river. There is a bathroom but if you'll stay in campsite 1, I recommend bringing a portable potty/privacy tent because it is "far" from the bathroom (a 3 or 4 minutes' walk) "Problems"/Wrong expectations on my end: we went just last weekend (August 15) and since it's summer there was A LOT of mosquitos. We had bug spray and even mosquito head nest, but it wasn't enough, my whole body is covered with bites. I also chose this place because I wanted to get in the water, but it was really muddy, you can use the available Kayaks (we did and it was very fun!) but I am not sure about swimming. It is a little bit hard to get in and out of the river even with water shoes. PS: I loved her dogs!

Our Meadow Site Experience

Meadow campsite

What a wonderful little campsite. We were looking for something not too far from Toronto but still dark enough to see the stars. This location did not disappoint. Everything was as advertised. We even left a critical piece of camping equipment at home and went to Joan directly for help: she stepped up huge and provided what we needed in that emergency. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick or not so quick getaway. Joan was an incredible host! Thank you!

Hideaway in the Pines

Joan was an absolutely wonderful host, so warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable. She went well above and beyond what you’d expect from a host, from lending us spray for our dog to sharing great local recommendations. She truly made us feel like family! The property is beautiful, and we would have loved to explore more of it and spend some time by the river. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes were **HORRIBLE** while we were there! 😂 But that’s nature and definitely not a reflection of the property or Joan. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back in the future! We would happily recommend Joan and her beautiful property to other Hipcampers!

Great place

Hideaway in the Pines

We had a great stay. We booked our two night stay rather last minute, and decided to enjoy a little glamping for a change of pace. It was nice to come back at the end of our day hiking and doing outdoor photography and being able to enjoy a relaxing shower and relax on the couch, away from the bugs for a short while. We usually are out tent camping, so this was a treat. Joan was a fabulous host and she made sure that our stay was perfect and she checked on us throughout our stay as well, as her two dogs did (whom I’m convinced only liked us for the liver dog treats we had on hand. 😝). Once, our dog got used to her two dogs, our dog was comfortable roaming off leash with Joan’s dogs. We both highly recommend this place!

It really was sunset corner! Beautiful area. This was my first time camping in 30 years. Joan was super helpful. It was private but not too secluded that made me feel safe. The shower was a definite bonus and her sweet dogs!

Wonderful weekend

We had an amazing weekend staying at the Strawberry Fields bunkie. Even though it rained the whole day, our host was so helpful and awesome. She even let us borrow her huge tarp, which made a total difference and let us spend the day relaxing among the pines with a cozy campfire. We also went on nice hikes to nearby Hogg's Falls and McGowan Falls. Even though we didn't end up using the river much, the wonderful family bonding time made this a truly five-star experience. Highly recommended!

Cat camping

The bunkie was perfect for 2 adults and a cat! The beds are very comfortable. Joan is a very friendly and helpful host, definitely recommend a visit! There's a small town nearby with an awesome coffee shop (Valley espresso), and other stores if you need a last minute supply run. Hope to return again someday! Carl, Jared and Julius the Cat

Cozy Forest

I loved tent camping on Joan's land - I've been here twice now, and will probably try to squeeze another visit in this summer, and continue at least once a year going forward. Great host, great dogs, and great location :) The nearby town Flesherton is small and stocked with whatever you may need in case you travel a bit too light, and there are great hikes of varying difficulties and lengths at Hoggs Falls.

Joan was a great host, and the site was cute and well set up! Felt like we were in our own personal forest while also having everything that we needed nearby. Loved that there was a phone charging port, and the “Camp Cupboard” had some games, floaties, and cooking supplies. There were also some kayaks and canoes available! Would come back again.

The 3 of us had an amazing time and my dog Ozzy had the best time ever. Joan was so kind and welcoming, when we got there she showed us around including the wonderful shower, bathroom, camp cupboard and the clean water. The view from our riverside campsite was fantastic, with canoes and kayaks available. Be careful when going into and coming out of the water or else you might slip in like I did! 🤣 Even though it rained for most of our trip I would say this was by far my favourite car camping trip I’ve gone on!

Joan's Bunkie In The Woods is a gem for those wanting a camping experience without any setup. Joan is super nice and her Bunkie provides a clean, comfortable place to sleep surrounded by trees, yet just a few short steps from your vehicle. Use of the outdoor shower is highly recommended!

Last minute, great stay! I booked it that morning and we are so happy we did. The river wasn't accessible, but there was 2 awesome public beaches within a 10 minute drive. Joan is a beautiful human and we will totally be visiting again!

Beautiful pine forest which backs onto the Saugeen River , where you can swim, Take a canoe out and have some water fun. Nice walking trails on the property, Has a hot shower , Outhouse , Water up at Joan's Cabin available and sink. for your convenience . There are two Bunkie's available and several tent camp spots nicely place in the pine forest. Firewood is available for $ 10.00 a bag . The hosts property is dog friendly, , your dog can run around the 10.5 acre's with the hosts two friendly dogs " Sid " & "Onyx". It is advised to keep food items locked in a cooler due to wildlife in the area , that could get into it , Racoons, Chipmunks, skunks ,.. One never knows . Flesherton is nearby and has a wonder bakery , various other stores and gas stations . There are waterfalls one can go view . Joan is an epic friendly host and accommodating and very helpful. even for those that are camping for the first time . This is my dog and my 3rd time at " Pine The Sky" I love the peace . being able to take in nature . Ill go back again. Sue Z. & Hunter

Riverside campsite

Pine the Sky Joan was very welcoming when I arrived. She gave me a run down of everything that we can use on the property and left us to do our own thing. The riverside campsite did seem private but there was nobody else staying at the other site close by to really know. Unfortunately the swimming hole/river access is just the side banks of the river which makes it very difficult to safely get in and out of the water. As the clay is very slippery. There isn’t anything the grab onto to be able to pull yourself out of the water. The dogs frequently visited my campsite. The two of them were very friendly but they were constantly trying to get into my tent. Left my door partially open as I was grabbing something and one of the dogs was in my tent. The amenities this property has to offer are great! Clean outhouse, outdoor shower with hot water, fresh water for drinking and cooking, camp cupboard which has random things campers can use, and a charging station for your phone. my biggest downside to this camping trip was the access to the river as I was unable to use it.

We camped for two nights at Joan’s place. It was wonderful! Joan is the best host there is, and communication with her was good. The place is very laid back with a personal touch, quiet and private. The small river that is running by is paradise. There are nice walking trails in the woods within a short drive from the camp site (we did Hoggs Falls which was very nice). Thank you Joan!
