Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. Youâll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know!
Our property is located in Peachland, BC. The birth of Chute Lake started approximately a century ago. The combined population of Kelowna and Penticton was a mere 7,000, and the First World War was just wrapping up. A bustling new sawmill on the shore of Chute Lake had a crew of hardworking loggers thinking it was time to build themselves a place to sleep and eat.
Raw materials certainly wouldnât be an issue, located in the middle of a forest. The crews worked all day turning trees into logs. Soon enough those logs were being hauled from the mill and up a gentle slope to the proposed location of the new bunkhouse.
A few years later, the Kettle Valley Railway would arrive, and the mill and freshly built bunkhouse would take on additional roles. It served as a water stop for the steam engines that pulled the passing trains. Enterprising mill workers would even sell some of the large fish they pulled from the lake to the dining carts.
These were the formative years Chute Lake Lodge. Cabins have been added and in the 1980s, the central lodge building nearly doubled in size. The restaurant was added with lodge rooms above. The railway that ran directly in front was converted into one of the best cycling paths in the province.

Wildlife abounds at Storia Vale, you may encounter critters ranging from Steller's Jays, hawks, ravens, weasels, deer, moose, bears, coyotes, squirrels... and more!
Located about 35 minutes drive outside of Kelowna on Rock Creek HWY 33. Approximately 7 minutes past the turn off to Big White Ski Resort. The address of Storia Vale is 9046 Painted Cliffs Private Road, lot #11. Both numbers are clearly marked by signage on the third driveway on your left after turning onto Painted Cliffs Private Road. The camp is located next to a highway so please be aware that road noise is audible.
At the start of your drive to Storia Vale, there is a sharp hairpin turn in the highway as you are leaving Kelowna. If you are unfamiliar with this highway, please do pay mind to the road signage and be cautious with speed at this section of road.
There is also a section of winding uphill road on the way to Big White which is best navigated with care.
Traveling east from town, once you see the turn off for Big White you'll have about 7 minutes drive remaining to get to the turn off for Painted Cliffs Private Rd.
Please use caution when turning onto Painted Cliffs Private Road as it is a dirt/gravel surface and will offer less traction than paved roadways.
Once you have located the driveway, you will find your camp site clearly marked. Please park your vehicle in the provided driveway space closest to your site.
Please also note that there are currently NO flush toilets or showers at Storia Vale. Outhouses and gravity fed potable water dispensers are the only available washroom amenities available on site.
There is an outdoor dish wash station located near the solar array which is shared by all campers. Potable water can be retrieved at the wash station.

Welcome to our sprawling, secluded farm. To access this private retreat we offer to transport you and your supplies with our ATV, although some prefer the peaceful 1/4 mile hike. Explore the historic staging grounds for a Wild West cattle auction, where the cowboys drove the herds onto trains at the end of the KVR line! Please respect nature as wildlife, flora, and dangerous terrain are part of our environment; explore at your own risk. There are hot showers and flush toilets for guest comfort but require a short walk to access. Campfires are banned but we provide propane cooking and living utensils. Embrace off-grid with minimal cell service and no wifi; instead allow nature to fill you. Although Okanagan nights cool down effectively, we have used science and shade in designing these rooms to dissipate heat. We provide fans and evaporative coolers when needed and offer our guests plenty of ice (provided in an insulated picnic chest) for those delicious summer drinks and storing food during your stay.
Our country style welcome has guests coming back. Ask us about interacting with animals, our farm produce, gold panning and sluice box in Lucky Strike Creek, hammock rentals, E-bike rentals (Grandfondo runs right by our property), endless hiking, and more! Also, ask us for an update on when our pool will open (with wifi access)! Some guests want nothing to do and need all day to get it done.
Within 10-15 minutes drive you will find dozens of wineries, District Wine Village, Tickleberrries ice cream parlor, golf, shopping, restaurants, Area 27 racing, lakes, etc.

I loved staying at this cabin. It was private very well maintained with a new outhouse and outdoor shower. It was close to several lakes and only 5 to 10 minutes from stores if you needed anything. Darcy was super polite and there to show us everything about the cabin. The A/C was a bonus for the hot weather.
My daughter loved the loft to sleep in. Like an indoor tree fort for her.
We look forward to going back for another stay.

We stayed at Cabin #2 and it was amazing. It was the comfiest cabin I've ever been in. Everything was clean and tidy. I would definitely like to revisit and try out the hot tub at Cabin #1 next time!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! Our host Darcy was incredibly attentive and took care of all our needs promptly, making our stay comfortable and stress free. The cabin was great for our family, and the kids especially enjoyed their time there. We all had a lovely and relaxing experience. Weekend Trip to Charming Creekside Caravan
We had lovely time staying at the RV , it was very clean , well decorated, occupied with all needed kitchenware extra blankets, the mattress was very comfortable and we had enough space for our belongings . The farm is very quiet , you can hear the river stream close to the RV and it's very peaceful place surroundings trees . Liana and Mike are great host and we enjoyed feeding the chicken and having fresh eggs for breakfast. Very well recommended,we will come back

Wow- what a magical place. We absolutely loved our stay. Very comfortable beds and we are still dreaming about the outdoor shower which has the best views. Amazing location. Nicole is also a very kind and warm lady. We will be back!

2 nights at Charming Creekside Caravan
Such a lovely stay! The camper caravan was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with the cutest interiors. The surrounding nature was absolutely beautiful and made for such a peaceful getaway. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and feeding the chickens was such a fun little bonus. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!

We absolutely loved the cabin that we stayed in on Darcy and his wife's property. The cabin was perfect for small children/families. My Daughter absolutely loved the loft as well as the folding beds from the sides of the walls. So many options for sleeping arrangements. We appreciated the small air conditioner in the cabin window for the hot days.
The outdoor shower was so nice after a long day. The outhouse was clean and well maintained.
A note would be that you definitely need a 4x4 vehicle to get up to cabin #1 as it's a steep gravel road. Thankfully we had an SUV so it wasn't an issue.
We did rent a kayak but unfortunately the weather didn't permit us to use it due to thunder and lightening. We weren't reimbursed and that would be my only qualm about this trip. Overall, we had a lovely time.

Daryn was a great host and the cabin was a calm and very well kept environment. From the porch, we could see the vineyard with Okanagan lake in the backdrop.

My stay at this cabin was so relaxing! I could sit on that little front porch at twilight every night forever. The cabin itself is simple but lovely, I used the bed on the main floor and it was very comfortable. Being able to relax and cool off in the AC during the hottest part of the day was a lifesaver. Darcy is a great host, very friendly and professional. He came to the cabin and made sure I knew how everything worked when I arrived. There was a small issue with the shower on the first day, but he was very responsive and got it fixed up right away. The BBQ available for use is really nice and it was clean and ready to go. Having the propane included was very much appreciated. As stated in the listing, you definitely need 4 wheel drive or a higher vehicle to be able to park right at the cabin. Overall, great spot and I would recommend it!

3 nights at Cherryville Retreat
Three of us had a fantastic and relaxing 4 night stay at Renske and Peter's cabin. They were accommodating and lovely the whole time, just as text away, if needed. The cabin has all of the essentials and the river access is just wonderful. We were also a huge fan of their two pups. Looking forward to coming back another time!
