Mohawk Trail State Forest
__truncato_root__>Camp along a rocky streambed, walk the foot steps of an ancient Native American Trail, and swim in Cold Rivers nature made pools at Mohawk Trail State Forest. This park consists of 6000 acres of lush meadows, green summits, and old growth trees that kiss the sky. There are many memories to be made here from fishing for trout to even skiing in the winter. Highly recommended is the Mohawk Trail which was once used as a historic foot path for Native Americans between Connecticut and the Hudson River Valleys. Build your teepee or pitch a tent at the parks campground. Sites are wooded and some even riverfront. For an off-season rustic experience try out the log cabins on site. You’ll be painting with the colors of the wind by the end of your stay!
