catherdral tin roof cabin has enough space for dinning, entertaining and yoga, it also has a sleeping loft for 2 people, and can be used as a reading nook, bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels and you are welcome to set up a tent on the outdoor camping site. There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The site is booked for complete privacy, only one group booking at a time, so you have your own private spot in the woods. There is a fireplace in the cabin with plenty of wood. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are groomed peaceful walking trails. A sphere shaped cooking outdoor fireplace under firefly solar lights adds to the magical experience. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. I built this cabin to be a romantic, cozy off-grid getaway for humans , but if most of our guests are being honest, the dogs are the ones having the best time.
There’s a cozy queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet. A covered deck with handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views. A private fire area below for campfires and stargazing. LED lighting, a Bluetooth speaker, a Jackery battery bank, clean well water, lanterns, an outdoor shower, and a clean outhouse. I’ll even haul your gear in by ATV so you can settle in without the hassle.
And after all that work, most guests still seem to agree on the real highlight:
Watching their dogs absolutely lose their minds with happiness.
More than anything, this place has become a favourite for people who want to give their dogs the kind of freedom they rarely get anywhere else. Most of our guests tell us over and over, that their favourite part is watching their best friends make their own decisions, run the trails, sniff everything, chase chipmunks, explore the forest, and basically have the time of their lives.
Of course, the humans tend to enjoy themselves too.
The cabin sits on a west-facing cliff on our private 164-acre property. Once you arrive, you’ll have the feeling of having the whole place to yourselves. The trails, the forest, the quiet, the sunsets, it all feels wonderfully removed from the usual noise.
In summer, the forest is lush, green, and full of life. The days are warm, the trails are shaded, and evenings at the cliff often bring a breeze and a beautiful sunset. For dogs, there’s endless space to explore. For people, it’s a chance to unplug, slow down, and enjoy a kind of peace that’s getting harder to find.
You’ll have access to 10 km of private trails through forest, ridgelines, and lakeshore. Wildlife is plentiful, and depending on the season, you may spot deer, foxes, loons, and maybe even a family of bald eagles!
There’s no electricity or running water, but that’s part of the magic. This is real off-grid comfort: simple, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up so you can enjoy nature without giving up a good night’s sleep.

I had the most magical time staying at this property - beautiful space and well equipped - the shower is indeed cold, and I stayed mid-October so it did get chilly at night without the heater! Bren was super responsive and helpful!

Gorgeous site! Better than the photos. The hosts were super fast at responding, and everything was ready for us to use easily. Kayaking on the lake was a beautiful experience, and I loved how easy it was to access everything.
One note is that the ground is extremely uneven, which was fun for us and a cool environment to camp in, but it would be challenging to move around the site if you have any mobility issues.
Un site magnifique ! Encore plus beau que sur les photos. Les hôtes répondaient super rapidement à nos messages, et tout était prêt pour que nous puissions profiter facilement de tout sur place. Faire du kayak sur le lac était une expérience magnifique, et j’ai adoré à quel point tout était facilement accessible.
Un petit point à noter : le terrain est extrêmement inégal. C’était amusant pour nous et ça donnait un cadre vraiment original au camping, mais il pourrait être difficile de se déplacer sur le site pour les personnes ayant des problèmes de mobilité.

Beautiful place. Quite and clean. Beautiful Owners lovely kids. We were planning to extend because it was so nice but plans changed spontaneously because of limited time. Any time we will be close to Ottawa we'd stay here again. Thank you!

This place has quickly become my favourite little escape to disconnect, relax, and enjoy some quality time.

This is one sweet camper! The bed is huge and super comfortable and cozy. The bathroom and kitchenette are perfectly adequate. There are lots of windows and there are curtains to close for privacy, although it's in a mostly-private location, surrounded by trees. The grounds are lovely, but we didn't get to enjoy them because we used the camper only as home base for our daily visits to Montreal. It's an easy drive to the city. We did not meet Bren but communicated several times on the Hipcamp app, and the responses were quick and considerate. Enjoy your stay!

My partner and I stayed at the House of Leo and it was a perfect getaway. The cabin is beautiful and so cozy, and the hosts were kind and responsive from start to finish.
The spa experience under the stars is a must-do. And the dinner of soup and grilled cheese made our stay extra special.
Highly recommend, and we can't wait to come back.

The place was so pretty and serene. Just 10 mins away was the best sunset I’ve seen. Such a lovely neighborhood. Miriane was a great host, I’m glad I was the first guest to her Hipcamp. Wish she gets booked all year round so people could enjoy the cute lil bunkie.

My friend and I had a very nice stay at Ferme Lanthorn in mid September, as part of a bike-packing trip. Mary was easy to communicate with and veryvl accomodating, making sure we had everything we needed. We found the place easily and were greeted by Mary and Pearl (the dog). Mary gave us a tour of the beautiful property, and where to set up our stuff. Loved seeing the deer and sheep get fed in the morning. It's was peaceful, beautiful, and easy.
