It was easy to find the campsite and the host provided many amenities. We made use of the BBQ, paddle board, hammock and dock. Lots of space and a beautiful view of the lake from our tent. There's a cabin for shelter, water and fridge. Located 15 minutes away from the city of Shawville where we visited the Cartrite brunch restaurant and Pontiac bakery.
The area is peaceful and quiet and you are expected to be discreet. The amenities and campsite are shared with the hosts who reside on-site at all times.

This was my second time at HoneyBee Haven and it was so perfect. Mike and Sue are wonderfully hospitable and have set up the campsite with care. We had everything we needed and wanted and spent the weekend swimming, bbqing and making smores. We came out of the weekend feeling relaxed and whole. A million thank yous ❤️

We had a wonderful stay at HoneyBee Haven! Mike and Sue are fantastic hosts and the property is beautiful - much more so than the listing would suggest. The cabin with common kitchen, screen porch and living area was a real bonus, and the lake was spring fed, clear and refreshing which made for great swimming and floating. The setting is lovely and quiet providing a great respite from the go-go of city life. They have two very friendly dogs who made the stay even more fun with their love of the water. Overall, would couldn't recommend Mike, Sue and their beautiful property more highly and look forward to returning in the future.

My husband and I had such a wonderful few days at Mike & Sue’s amazing property. They, along with their lovely dogs were very welcoming, helpful and great company.
The property is gorgeous with a few surprises to delight guests. The water is fresh and lovely to swim in. It’s a quiet refuge from the busyness of city life. Highly recommended you book your stay.

WOW..out of 10 I give this a 12..yes a 12.It was just what I needed...everything was awesome, Mike, Sue, Honey Bee & Bo were awesome.Always there if I needed anything, taking me on an ATV ride, letting me fish and yes I did catch 2 trout.It was quiet, never slept so well,listening to the birds at night,an orchestra.The place is immaculate,well looked after,had a kettle for my coffee mornings plus a lot of other convenient items too many to list.I was prepared for anything but didn't need everything.I will definitely be back as it was the best tent camping I have ever done and believe me I have been around..lol.I wish this Family all the best in the future, It was great meeting such down to earth people as them.See you soon folks.

It was such an amazing experience! We arrived a little late, but Mike welcomed us warmly. That night, we even got to watch a hockey game with Mike and Sue—they’re truly wonderful hosts.
We stayed up late sharing stories and life experiences, and they made sure we had everything we needed.
It was our first time camping as a couple, and they made it so easy and enjoyable for us. We had a great time swimming, cooking, and just relaxing.
The property is beautifully maintained and everything is so well thought out. We even took the boat out and swam in the afternoon— it was perfect.
We’d 100% recommend them and are definitely looking forward to visiting again!

Nice communal kitchen that made meals easy. It was cold and windy so we didn’t make use, but boats were available and the water looked nice.

Overall the view is great and the fact that you can use the cannoes for free and their sweet dog made it all special. At first impressions the host appear to be nice but changed after we left and received multiple mean and unacceptable messages. We gave them our critique and their response was silence and to change the wording and rules to their site because of us. Is a shame really. Best advice make sure you message the owner and you know what you're signing up for. The fire pit and food access is communal fyi. Privacy is minimal and cost is too high.(fyi they also lower the price; youre welcome). would not recommend. To the hosts thank you for sharing your land, sorry it didn't go right. Cheers.

What a delightful few days/nights just spent at HoneyBee Haven. This was the perfect getaway, a picturesque setting among the massive pines, the immaculate property, and the lake views just stunning. The tranquillity was just what we needed. We enjoyed several paddles around the pristine lake in the kayaks, just absorbing the joys of being in nature. The hosts, Mike and Sue are very welcoming and we so enjoyed our many conversations around the evening bonfire. The bonus for us was spending time with their beautiful dogs, Honey Bee and Bo. We came away feeling replenished and can’t wait to go back.

HoneyBee is by far one of my favorite camping experience in the region! The listing does not do it justice! The grounds are clean (and I mean CLEAN), the shared space is very cute, the waterfront is welcoming and the lake is gorgeous! Mike and his wife are kind, welcoming and attentive folks. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat!

We loved staying at Mike and Sue's campsite! It was an incredible, peaceful space among the pines on a beautiful lake. They put so much love and care into making our time with them fun and relaxing - from providing activities to do at the campsite like paddle boarding, giving some local knowledge on what to do on the one wet day we had, and even lighting us a fire every evening. In terms of facilities, we feel this place definitely delivers more than advertised, like a well equipped kitchen and a warm outdoor shower.
Mike and Sue are lovely people too. We spent quality time getting to know them and their pups. They're kind and generous people who want to share their paradise with others. We enjoyed chatting about life with them. Hope to stop by again soon!

We loved the tent camping site (we could choose which one we wanted), close to the water, gorgeous view and calm!! Mike and Sue were great hosts that went above & beyond PLUS BONUSES while our 4 day stay. Their dogs, Honey Bee and Bo, are soooo adorable and big babies who loves cuddles.
We had a great time and will definitely come back!!

Beautiful night at HoneyBee Haven, lots of fish to catch but unfortunately we couldnt get any of the big guys we heard flopping around. Absolutely amazing hospitality from Mike and his wife as well as the 2 pups who made sure we were okay! We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at HoneyBee Haven. Mike and Sue were amazing hosts, always checked up on us and they're just very lovely people. Their dogs were very friendly and adorable.The lake and the view was amazing. Me and my partner had a go at the boat and paddle boat, which was fun. There were so many facilities there that we didn't expect. It was an absolutely amazing weekend for us.
We are already planning on visiting with our family soon.

This is my husband and I first time at Honey Haven and it was such a beautiful experience. Mike and Sue are the most lovely hosts and their two dogs are the cutest things ever!!
The lake was stunning, clear, and my husband got to fish which she was so happy about. Everything is well kept and clean!
I hope I can convince my husband to go back one more time before the end of the summer😃👍🏼

Mike & Sue’s land really is a haven from the hectic city. They’re gracious and generous hosts. What a beautiful spot! The lake is pristine and peaceful. Far surpassed what I had imagined. Can’t wait to come back.

HoneyBee Haven offered the chillest vibe ever. Good luck finding a better Hipcamp. The tranquil setting by the lake was perfect for relaxing, swimming, and paddle boarding. The covered fire pit on the sandy beach added to the cozy, laid-back atmosphere where we were fortunate enough to witness the acoustic talents of other guests. Mike and Sue were phenomenal hosts, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable with their warm hospitality. Their 2 friendly rescues will warm the heart of any dog lover. Every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully catered to, from the well-maintained amenities like power outlets and running water to the serene and beautiful surroundings. Mike and Sue felt more like friends. Highly recommend for an unforgettable, relaxing getaway!
