Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave. Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge. This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush. We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter. Four-wheel-drive is required for access in the winter!

It is still a quiet, peaceful escape to the country and you can enjoy all of the amenities but there will be no veggie boxes this season and there are fewer animals to visit. The farm is a 100-acre working livestock and organic mixed produce farm with picturesque views, miles of wooded trails, and a beautiful little fish pond. "This place is magical!" Since moving here in 2004, Val and Brent have worked with the natural diversity of this 42 acre farm to create an ecological haven. Heartwood has always welcomed friends to experience the joys of a regenerative farm life -- our overnight farmstay program offers an adult-focused retreat experience. When you arrive, we’ll give you a warm Heartwood welcome, invite you for a glass of cider on the woodland patio, and provide enough of a farm orientation to be able to create your own adventure. Cuddle the piglets, explore our woodland and pasture trails, hang out in the barn for some farmyard therapy, pick fruit while walking the forest garden labyrinth, and if you're curious about the life of a farmer, tag along with Val to do the chores and dig deeper into the wonder of regenerative agriculture. We have three separate sites for our canvas platform tents. Sunrise Suite and Orchard Oasis are nestled between our pastures and orchards, offering farm life immersion. Spruce Sanctuary offers more seclusion and privacy in one of our farm's woodland zones. All of our tents come fully furnished with a super-comfy queen-sized bed, bedside tables, and furnished patio. There is also a fire-pit, with firewood supplied at your site for your evening campfire and stargazing.

Learn more about this land: Welcome to our private family farm! Enjoy beautiful scenery and quiet camping as only 3 groups at any time and lots of spots to set up! You can camp right on the waterfront or on the upper deck area. The sites provide river access and are a great place for kayaking, there are no motorboats permitted. Rentals include a limited number of kayaks (Pickup at set areas for kayaking, contact for more info) There is a horseshoe pit and propane bbq to use. If booked generator as well. Sites have campfire pits. Each area has its own outhouse, which comes with tp. Pets on-leash permitted. While visiting there is lots to do and see! You can enjoy trail walking, fishing. and we are within half an hour to shopping. You may get lucky and see bald eagles! We planned on staying in the plane one night and the cabin the next, but the plane was so cozy we stayed in it both nights. The property is gorgeous and private. We spent the day wandering through the woods, and night by the fire. Exceptionally well taken care of property was exactly what we were looking for for a weekend getaway.

My children and I loved our stay at Rick's place. Tha cabin and airplane are in great shape and nestled in the middle of the woods. Rick was a good host and everything was as we expected. The wood stove in the cabin kept us warm in mid November, and the airplane was big enough for two kids with winter sleeping bags. It was a memorable trip. Thanks, Rick.

She from her own told us its ok if you don't come over even on the day of the booking. This shows that she has some values. We will try and go over to her location anytime soon. Lovely little cabin. Well-insulated, and has a wood stove. Doesn't take much fire to warm the place up. The main cabin has three single-bed cots plus a single bed mattress in the loft, but know there is very little headroom up there. Probably more suitable for a child. There's a table and four chairs. The plane has room for an adult or a couple of kids to set up sleeping bags. Very quiet. Didn't hear a thing aside from the wind in the trees. Just what I wanted for a Hallowe'en camping weekend. The outhouse is clean and as nice as an outhouse can be. Watch out for the dogs on the way in. They're friendly cuties, but don't seem car-smart, so drive extra slowly.

Melanie & Ryan were fantastic hosts! They were kind, helpful, and incredibly responsive. The place is beautiful, and the lights make it magical and easy to navigate around at night. The yurt was gorgeous. My friend and I visited at the end of October, so it got very cold at night. However, the mattress heating pad worked wonders, and Melanie was incredibly kind to offer us additional bedding. Thank you for a great glamping experience!

Firstly, Rick was the best host. Informative, responsive but left us to our own devices. My partner and I were looking for somewhere functional and secluded and this property hit all the marks. We stayed there with our 3 large dogs and were able to explore trails onsite that were easily accessible and intuitive. There's also a great clearing in the marsh where we were able to catch some shooting stars! The first night we stayed in the smaller cabin, which was a dreamy little slice of rustic bliss. Second night we stayed at the unique plane crash site - overall has more space and access to the plane worked as a perfect refuge to shelter from the elements, while conveniently placed steps away from the warmth of our campfire. Clearly both sites are treated with care, clean and filled No doubt, will be back.

We (my dog Onyx & I) had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful A-frame cabin! It’s the perfect mix of cozy and peaceful, surrounded by nature and all the little details that make it feel special. The host’s kindness and hospitality truly stood out — they even gifted us some fresh raw honey and venison steak, which was such a thoughtful surprise. We also loved how dog-friendly the cabin was! Our Great Dane joined me for the trip and was welcomed with open arms (and plenty of space to stretch out). It’s not easy finding places that accommodate giant breeds so comfortably, and this one was perfect. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with warm hosts, beautiful scenery, and a truly personal touch. We can’t wait to come back!
