We like to keep things clear and upfront so you can feel 100% confident about what to expect. Here are a few helpful things to know before your stay:
Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie is available year-round and is insulated, has a woodstove and a diesel heater that keeps things warm all year round. We do supply wood, and the diesel will be filled, but you will be responsible for refilling if you run out. Also, bring some firestarters to help get the fire going quicker. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights.
Washroom & Shower: A shared washroom with warm/cold shower, toilet, and an outdoor well-access tap is nearby and easy to access.
Water & Electricity: There’s a tap on-site for general use (well water, not filtered). The sink in the bunkie has cold, unfiltered well water. There is no "filtered" drinking water on-site—please bring your own. The bunkie is equipped with solar-powered lighting and basic power.
Wi-Fi & Cell Service: There is no Wi-Fi and very limited or no cell service. Plan to unplug and enjoy the quiet.
Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no roadside pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you will need to bring it home with you to dispose of it, $75 charge for any left behind.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.
-RV Spot: With electric hook up ideal for RVs 30 feet and under

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.

There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse

This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush.
We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter.

Many chairs to sit at both the fire-pit and deck, the trailer has a retractable awning that can be used to provide more shade for the deck
There is no direct beach access, however, the beach is 5 mins driving time to Port Bruce, 15 mins to Port Stanley or 25 mins to Port Burwell
The trailer is an older 5th wheel in livable condition, set in the forest, the trailer has signs of aging, there are animals that call the forest their home, we do the best we can to keep them out but animals will be animals it is not luxury, but very comfy, quiet and peaceful
It does have its limitations

I live in the main house with my two cats, and while I’ll give you complete privacy, I’m always available to answer questions or share local recommendations.

We like to keep things clear and upfront so you can feel 100% confident about what to expect. Here are a few helpful things to know before your stay:
Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie is available year-round and is insulated, has a woodstove and a diesel heater that keeps things warm all year round. We do supply wood, and the diesel will be filled, but you will be responsible for refilling if you run out. Also, bring some firestarters to help get the fire going quicker. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights.
Washroom & Shower: A shared washroom with warm/cold shower, toilet, and an outdoor well-access tap is nearby and easy to access.
Water & Electricity: There’s a tap on-site for general use (well water, not filtered). The sink in the bunkie has cold, unfiltered well water. There is no "filtered" drinking water on-site—please bring your own. The bunkie is equipped with solar-powered lighting and basic power.
Wi-Fi & Cell Service: There is no Wi-Fi and very limited or no cell service. Plan to unplug and enjoy the quiet.
Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no roadside pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you will need to bring it home with you to dispose of it, $75 charge for any left behind.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.

We had a wonderful time staying at Beth’s little oasis! We booked this trip last minute as my husband and I needed a little R&R and this place did not disappoint!
The hottub was so cozy for the two of us, we had a table top little fire going and it was very quiet and peaceful. You have total privacy on the patio, especially at nighttime! You do not feel like you are close to the house or in a shared space at all.
Our dog loved the space also as the area is fenced in, she enjoyed lounging in the snow lol!
The composting toilet was totally fine and easy to use and navigate. We visited in the winter so no running water for the sink or shower, but Beth left us water for washing and that did the trick! We also brought some jugs of water ourselves and we basically winter camped with a cozy bed!
We walked the pier and visited the shops along the strip which was super cute, before heading to Lynn valley trail to explore:)
We played games and ordered pizza and had a great adventure:) We also used the BBQ for a delicious steak dinner the one night.

The space and property are so beautiful, the trails are very well maintained and Susan and Brent are super friendly and awesome! They gifted me some honey from the bees they keep and it was delicious.
I was very warm and cozy at night during my stay. The land is huge and I had such a fun time snowshoeing and walking around. There are lots of birdwatching spots, especially by the water. I will definitely be back again when the weather is warmer. I highly recommend staying here, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I did!

This was such an amazing experience. We brought our little baby in -25 and it was so cozy in the cabin!! The property is absolutely gorgeous, amazing trails to explore. The hosts are so incredible and attentive. Our propane ran out our second night and Susan answered me within 1 minute and came out to replace it immediately! The wood for 15$ is a steal! This was an amazing stay. First, it was extremely last minute as we booked it 15 minutes before showing up. Despite that, Joan was very accommodating and set us up right away. It was a nice basement unit with everything we needed included heated floors in the bathroom. The property itself was also beautiful - though we didn’t see a lot of since it was winter. Second time here in winter, and Susan and Brent's land is so enchanting! The A-frame was cozy. I did bring piles and piles of fleece blankets this time to keep off the chill :) but their propane heater works wonders. The second night was clear skies and a stunning moon to bbq by the light of. My dog loved running along the trails left by their ATV. I cannot recommend this place enough. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. I will definitely have to visit in the summer. Thank you!

We went winter camping in the A Frame. The hosts Sue and Brent went out of their way to make are stay exceptional. We were very warm and cozy. Loved the trails and winter fires. The property is dog friendly and our dog Whitney loved it. Definitely lots of exploring. We felt so relaxed. The pond was beautiful too. Hiking the trails was very enjoyable. Lots of trees and the beautiful skies lite up by the moon at night.

The beautiful serenity of Sue and Brent’s camp we stayed in the A frame so warm and cozy. We had beautiful fires in the winter nights. Our dog Whitney ran free and loved the winter trails. Brent and Sue are great host highly recommend this camp for families. The property offers lots of beautiful surprises a pond and spring fed stream. We hiked , spent our days and nights outside and played with our dog, the cabin is warm with a propane heater. . We will definitely plan another winter weekend. What a great winter experience. We loved our winter stay at Natalie’s cabin. There was plenty of snowfall but barely any wind making for breathtaking scenery. Parking was cleared of snow as well as pathways to the cabin and the outhouse. The cabin was the perfect size for a couple like us and warmed up quickly with the wood stove. We requested additional firewood and it was delivered promptly and was a generous amount for the price. Overall the stay was incredibly peaceful and quiet, very few cars on the road to the property. While the cabin is close to the road it is tucked nicely back and is still very private. We would absolutely stay again if we have the chance.

Beth’s place truly is the perfect serene getaway for anyone looking to escape the city. The peaceful setting made it easy to relax and unwind, and everything was just as we had hoped.
We really enjoyed our time there and would happily recommend this place to others looking for a quiet retreat.
Beth was an amazing host! As soon as she knew we were bringing our dog, she went the extra mile by setting out a cozy bed and a fresh bowl of water.

We went during winter so didn’t get to fully enjoy the outdoors but site is really private and place next to it is definitely a nice touch. The cabin is a little small but it’s new and built nicely. Washroom was clean and built nice aswell
Rick had been great at communication and made sure snow path was clear for us to get in and out.

The perfect place to stay for a remote escape. The sky out here will make you want to come back for more! The Amish built cabin is perfectly insulated, and even in -15 windy weather I was warm and cozy thanks to the wood burning camping stove. Rick is a great host! Highly recommend.
