This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape and stay on the marked trails. Some are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. This is a place of quiet reflection. however, it is also a great place to reunite with loved ones over exciting conversations, music, and drinks over the flame of a campfire. However, we exercise a quiet hours policy starting at 11pm. No loud music or loud talking. We are in close proximity to the first and most prominent vineyard in PEC. (Wauppos Estates). They have some of the best wine you will find here, and spectacular gardens on the lake with a south-facing dock. Grab a glass of wine and wander the grounds. They also have a petting zoo, ice cream, and a market where you can grab food, drinks, or some fresh local produce. Nearby there are blueberry and strawberry fields where you can pick your own fruit. Right around the corner from us we have our favourite wine maker at Amanda’s Winery.

The smaller cabin great for a couple. The BEAR Necessities CABIN Is off grid with outhouse on a small hill at the edge of the woods about a 16 min hike in from the parking area. Larger cabin good upto 4 people The abundance of wildlife , birds , turkeys , owls, deer, and other native Ontario wildlife. It’s very common to see deer and turkeys and hear the hoot and howl of the coyotes. The cabins are year round fully insulated with beautiful real wood stoves. The River

If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 88 acres 10 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply pulled up our laneway at our house and follow the signs to the River. We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters. Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch . We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy . We have a canoe, an adult kayak and child’s kayaks included . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks. 2 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies. We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in. Currently there is no sand at the water entry but it is in the future to be getting some. The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 22 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more. A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road . If we plan it ahead of time to ensure we are home we are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point. Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a filling and dumping station there for a small fee from the park. Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the empire cheese factory and chocolate factory all within 10 minutes from our house . Campbellford is full of little shops and stores. It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen. Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival.

Maple Sugar Cabin

Off grid cabin for rent Our newly renovated off grid cabin is situated on 200 acres of land. There is a queen size bed, as well as a single over double bed. It is heated with a propane fireplace, so you wake up cozy warm. There is a propane stove and BBQ for cooking. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes pots & pans, and utensils, as well as some basic supplies. (Coffee, tea, sugar, hot chocolate) The cabin is powered with solar and batteries, with generator back up, so we ask that you be mindful of how much power you use. There is no running water in the winter, but we will provide potable water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. There is a fire pit with wood for burning. An outhouse is on site. Suitable trails for hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, when conditions allow. There is access to some lovely 4wheel trails as well. In the summer there are lakes that are close by,(15 minute drive), for swimming and fishing. When conditions allow, there is ice fishing as well. In the early spring we produced maple syrup. It gets quite busy with people helping us, but you can see how maple syrup is produced. The sugar shack is across the road from the cabin. There are no guarantees that we will be making syrup on the days of your stay….that is up to Mother Nature. There is a winery located near Tweed, and Prince Edward County is about an hours drive from the cabin.

We think currently the max length would be a 22 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more. A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road . If we plan it ahead of time to ensure we are home we are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point. Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a filling and dumping station there for a small fee from the park. Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the empire cheese factory and chocolate factory all within 10 minutes from our house . Campbellford is full of little shops and stores. It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen. Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival.

You will see many of the rocks have been piled up or made into walls to once make way for cattle to pasture. Now the land is slowly returning back to the forest. We work hard to be environmentally friendly and support the abundance of wildlife living in the area. Choose from three uniquely different areas for country camping on 55 acres.: Pine Solitude! : A Slice of Heaven site tucked into a stand of white pines on a peninsula, overlooking a shallow lake with three islands. Walk-in (approx. 800m) Big Sky Solitude! : Our best site for stargazing on an open peninsula, overlooking a shallow lake with three islands. Walk-in (approx. 600m) Meadow Bluff! : A sweet, secluded spot on a raised bluff overlooking a lovely, quiet meadow. The site is tucked into the edge of a white pine forest. Walk-in (approx. 400m).
