This property was purchased nearly half a century ago. For the majority of this time the forest section you will be camping in was left undeveloped, apart from a few mountain bike trails. Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Gibsons -Sunshine Coast is a 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver BC
Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave.

The Forest Sanctuary Bell Tent is our newest addition at Forest Sanctuary and is located within the beautiful Forest Sanctuary Campground in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast. The Bell Tent is set up and ready to use. All you need to bring are your sleeping bags and sleeping mats or mattresses.
Renting the Bell Tent offers use of all amenities that Forest Sanctuary has to offer. We have a communal covered outdoor kitchen and lounge with all cookware, dishware and utensils provided. Barbecue and Coleman stove with propane provided. We have a great communal fire pit where you can meet fellow campers from around the world. Also available are solar showers, a great open air outhouse, Drinking water is provided. Firewood can be purchased onsite for when campfires are permitted. Propane fire pits are available for rent.
Also available for rent is a great camping cabin and lush, level forest campsites.
I can accommodate large groups and private events and parties. Feel free to ask me about them.
A sauna care of PranaSauna is available for rent and when combined with cold plunge in our aquifer fed pond it makes for a rejuvenating experience.
There is direct access to world class mountain bike trails right from the property.
Please note we are 2 km up a well maintained gravel road.

The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need.
The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out.
The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee.

We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning.
Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway.
We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas.
There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin
Probably the best private campground in BC. Although I booked the cabin, the tent campsites are perfectly flat with soft soil like grass or sand. Cabin is cozy and if cold, you can start fire in the stove inside to heat it up quickly. Rented the sauna and it was great. Easy to use and very spacious. He really has everything you need there.

We had a fantastic stay at Leah and Caleb’s Airbnb! They were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Their dog Marley was super well‑behaved, and they were very considerate about our comfort since we were a bit nervous around dogs at first. They were always there to help us with any questions, and they made us feel completely at home. We’re truly grateful for the experience of staying in their RV. It was such a unique and wonderful stay.

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin
We had the most magical weekend at the Forest Sanctuary cabin. The property is stunning and you can tell how much love, care and thought has gone into setting up and maintaining this site. Christian was very welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be back very soon!

Weekend Trip to Island Gertie
We had the loveliest stay at Paige’s cabin in the woods. All the vibes of camping but with the comforts of big beds, a very clean washroom, and beautiful pottery to eat and drink from. We also added on the propane fire pit to our stay which was a huge plus to have. Would recommend staying at this peaceful place that’s tucked away just enough so that it still felt really easy to bop around Gabriola.

Weekend Trip to Hayward Farms
We really enjoyed the quiet and secluded feel of this camp site, without being far from amenities!
Site 4 was awesome, we loved the outdoor kitchen and cozy feeling of the tent!
The area is clean and safe!
They have corn hole set up, my wife and I really enjoyed it for something to do away from screens!
Recommend the trail behind the stable, it goes to a beautiful lake access and bridge!
Brent and Sherri are great hosts, very helpful and just a quick message away if you have any questions!
We would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle without having to travel too far!

We loved staying at the wagon. It was cozy and comfortable for 2. The additional outdoor covered picnic area had utensils and propane stove. The area is close to general store, cafe, ferry terminal etc while also offering a peaceful, relaxed environment in the woods. The common area had family friendly outdoor games. The host is very friendly, and the farm animals are so adorable!

Weekend Trip to Island Gertie
Wonderful location - super close to a quiet and beautiful beach. It was perfect for our 1-night stay with our bikes. Comfy bed, loved having access to a shower (bring waterproof shoes if there are other folks staying, I'd say), and really enjoyed the propane firepit for a cozy, after-activity hang. Had our dinner on the beach and rode out the next day after a little sleep in. Perfect spot to rest during our little bike tour! Thanks for a lovely, easy stay :)

We had a good time staying in the Gertie Bus. The couch was sufficient for the second person to sleep on. We got plenty of love from the kitties! I would stay here again. Short walk to the ocean and a nice little trail through the forest.

Leah and Caleb are great hosts and are very accommodating. Plus we met their dog, Marley, who our little toddlers' highlight of the trip!
The RV is cozy, roomy and complete with the basics. We need to bring our own beddings and bottled water which is communicated ahead. The site feels private and we love being surrounded with nature.There is about 30 minute trail (toddlers steps) through Hayward lake reservoir trail.
We enjoyed having to axe precut wood for campfire.
My husband and I were thinking to get a trailer camper van in the future and this experience is a good way to find out if we really want it. Thanks for the stay!

I had a great time at Kito and Fiona’s. The bus was cozy and cute and the rest of the campsite was lovely to walk around. I spent most of my time in town and exploring the area but it was a great place to get cozy at the end of the day. The bed was also very comfortable.

What a wonderful weekend we just had in Christian's forest hideout! This was a real labor of love kind of place you only ever read about in old travel magazines and think it doesn't exist in reality. Well, it does. Our family had a great time and the bell tent was spacious and all the sites are private and quiet. The communal kitchen is charming and really has anything you need. Christian is a great host and will make sure you're all set up with everything you need to have the best experience, can't thank him enough!
