Natalie's bunkie is a truly magical place! The cabin itself is so cozy and thoughtfully provisioned with everything you could need all season round, from practical supplies like cutlery and cookware and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on cool autumn nights to board games and paperback books and even a portable DVD player for makeshift movie screenings, if you can peel your eyes away from the view of the starry night sky.
The bunkie sits on a scenic body of water and a waterfall that make for great canoeing and swimming or admiring over morning coffee, and the rest of Natalie's property is bursting with whimsical art installments as well as gardens, fire pits, fairy lights, and fields of flowers.
My partner and I have visited twice - in the summer and the in the fall - and have found each season and each stay so uniquely gorgeous and relaxing. If you are looking for a place to retreat from the noise of the world, the bunkie is perfect. Natalie is so warm and welcoming and has put so much care and attention into providing people with a home away from home.

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods
Hi all!
We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Heron Bunkie. Super cute and cozy cabin; the host even put a little fire in the wood stove, so we’d have a warm first night. We scored with the view and I scored with a kindred spirit who owns this beautiful land. Did I mention the outdoor shower? Divine.

This was my first Hipcamp experience, and Natalie has set the bar extremely high. She is a fantastic host - wonderful to deal with and very responsive. The Heron Bunkie was immaculate, and had everything you could need including a great little fridge, lights, a small wood stove (and wood), comfy bed and little touches like coffee (plus a coffee maker with filters) and ice cubes ready to go. The setting was lovely, despite the drier than normal conditions - peaceful. Multiple blue heron sightings, too, and a mystery critter in the pond. (She supplies binoculars!) Having coffee sitting on the generous deck was a treat, as was dinners prepared on the bbq. Amazingly, there were very few mosquitoes, so sitting outside to read or have a beverage was truly enjoyable. Being away from any city, the stargazing was stellar, too. My pup was made to feel really welcome, and she started to look for Natalie daily. All in all, a lovely, relaxing experience. Thank you so much, Natalie. You're the best. Not a surprise that Ginny didn't want to get out of the car when we got home!

Weekend Trip to Backwoods Cabins
What an incredible location right by the river! Very peaceful and private. It was wonderful having the fireplace inside to keep cozy and the cabin itself had everything we needed, even power! We brought our kayaks and were able to paddle in the river beside the cabin which was wonderful. We purchased day passes at Bon Echo Provincial Park to not only explore the park and go paddling, but also to use their shower facilities, which was great! I would say the outhouse was the only weak point as it was indeed the stinky pit style (not the pleasant wood chip composting kind). If you’re alright with that, then this place is perfect and I would highly recommend it! We definitely look forward to going back!!

I recently spent two nights at Henry’s cabin. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, which makes it a peaceful spot to unplug. The cabin itself has a rustic charm and offered a simple getaway from the city. Communication with Malissa was straightforward and she was attentive to any questions I had. Overall, it was an experience that gave me a change of scenery and some time to recharge.

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods
My husband and I and our dog thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The bunky was very cozy. The view was amazing.
And lounging by the falls was great. Natalie is a pleasure to talk to and I would definitely recommend and would definitely book again. I felt very comfortable the whole entire weekend, It felt like I was staying with family and friends. Thank you Natalie, it was a pleasure meeting you 😊

What a picturesque setting with SO many options of accommodation and activities. We were blessed with beautiful weather during our stay and not many other guests which made it very peaceful. This cabin is perfectly set atop a hill so you get the stunning water views without being right in the action on the waterfront. There is a bit of a walk to the cabin from parking across the road, as well as down a flight of wooden stairs to the waterfront.
The cabin was equipped with air conditioning which is very necessary in this summer's heat. The bedrooms were nicely tidied up and prepared with all the linens and towels needed. There was a delightful surprise awaiting us on the dining table with local wine, maple syrup and some other snacks.
Our host was very communicative and helpful in preparing for this trip and making himself available if we needed anything during our stay. We would love to go back with friends to rent more cabins and share the experience together.

Such a fantastic cabin! Roomier than expected, cute decor, and comfy bed. Right on the water, which our dog loved! Multiple seating areas outside, and comes equipped with everything you could need. Hosts were very to quick to reply when we had a question during our stay. We hope to be back one day!

Camping on Natalie's land was so peaceful and she had so many lovely little touches that made it so enjoyable! The sites were private and had many conveniences that made my stay easier. The kitchen tent and table, the bar b q, the shower... little sitting areas and hammocks placed around the property, firepits... Honestly the whole experience was delightful 😊

2 nights at Cabin in the Woods
Beautiful spot, extremely welcoming host who makes you feel like family, beautiful HOT out door shower, fun and eclectic decor all over and use of anything on the property such as kayaks, fishing rods, fire pits etc
We absolutely loved our stay and will come back in the future. One small thing to note that I didn't notice in other reviews is mention of proximity. The Bunkie, where we stayed, is next to Natalie's (host) house. It is still private and Natalie is completely respectful of your space but if you're hoping to find a completely secluded and isolated spot, this may not be the ideal spot for you. It was not a problem for us, but for the sake of full transparency we felt it was worth noting.
Lots of trails, clear water and a small waterfall that you can sit right in. Charming little town near by.

3 nights at Cabin in the Woods
We had a great weekend on Natalie’s beautiful property at the Blue Heron Bunkie. Natalie was a lovely host and made sure we had everything we could need. The view from the front porch was gorgeous, overlooking the pond. We saw blue herons flying by during the day and gorgeous fireflies at night. We will absolutely be coming back.

My wife and 3 young kids wanted a fun and comfortable camping experience and Cabin in the Woods was exactly as advertised! The place was beautiful, private and clean. My kids wanted to try fishing for the first time and Natalie bought 3 brand new kids' fishing rods for them to use during our stay. We were blown away by the hospitality!!! Seeing the excitement on my kids' faces when they caught their very first bass ALMOST justified the last year of chauffeuring them around and putting up with all their screaming. Thank you Natalie! We also enjoyed the swimming holes, small waterfalls and watching the frogs hop around. Having a warm shower, sitting by a private fire and quietly watching the stars at night capped off the perfect days. We'll be definitely coming back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boot Hill site. Short walk to the river where we swam was so refreshing during our 30C+ weather! Access to a hot water outdoor shower is beyond the norm and such a game changer before heading to the tent at night.
Natalie is an awesome, thoughtful host. She has a tucked away spot in trees for tent placement in shade, and has a screened dining tent with table and chairs. This was our 3rd year, and already looking forward to our next visit.

I loved staying at field of dreams! The site was so beautiful and I was so grateful for all the amenities the host provided, especially the dining tent which was great in the middle of deerfly season. The land was beautiful and I was very close to town. Would definitely stay again!

Had an amazing time here! Natalie is an amazing host with an amazing property. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend fishing and kayaking, enjoying the view, and walking through the beautiful forest. Remember to bring bug spray to this camp as you are centered around some lovely wildflower bushes where many bugs have made their home. Natalie went above and beyond with the camps set up including separate areas for tent, kitchen, and fire, not to mention a private bathroom and a fully functioning shower that she built herself.
