The fall foliage, with all its splendor during September and October, offers many opportunities for the camera buff or hiker. The cabin is set on 100 plus acres of private, mostly forested land and has a beaver pond that creates habitat for many different species of birds and wildlife. The Bunk House cabin can sleep six guests, with 2 single bunk beds and one single bunk over double bed. The kitchen area is complete with dishes, drink ware, pots, pans, utensils, toaster and coffee pot. A propane BBQ is also made available to our guests. The kitchen comes equipped with a 4 burner propane stove with an oven. A two burner camping stove can also be made available. A wood fired, air tight fireplace for warmth on those cooler nights, provides both comfort and ambiance (wood is provided). Please note: guests must bring their own bedding/sleeping bag/pillow as we do not provide that. The cabin is solar powered with a back up gasoline generator. An outdoor fire pit with seating is close by, as well as an outhouse. Walking trails along the beaver pond and property are maintained for your hiking pleasure. This off grid warm, cozy, roomy and rustic cabin sleeps 6 people comfortably. It is located in Round Lake, Ontario with easy access off Renfrew County Road 58 (Round Lake Road). It is approximately a 25 minute drive to the Basin Lake Access Point of Algonquin Provincial Park and just minutes away from the Killaloe, Hagarty, Richards Township boat launch in the village of Round Lake Centre . Bonnechere Provincial Park, Foy Provincial Park and Cheryl Boyle Park are 2-4 kms away, where sandy beaches and excellent swimming can be enjoyed on pristine Round Lake. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets at these locations provide the perfect beginning and end to your days. Bring your camera!! Fall brings a whole new dimension to this picturesque community nestled in the Upper Ottawa Valley. The fall foliage, with all its splendor during September and October, offers many opportunities for the camera buff or hiker. The cabin is set on 100 plus acres of private, mostly forested land and has a beaver pond that creates habitat for many different species of birds and wildlife. The Bunk House cabin can sleep six guests, with 2 single bunk beds and one single bunk over double bed. The kitchen area is complete with dishes, drink ware, pots, pans, utensils, toaster and coffee pot. A propane BBQ is also made available to our guests. The kitchen comes equipped with a 4 burner propane stove with an oven. A two burner camping stove can also be made available. A wood fired, air tight fireplace for warmth on those cooler nights, provides both comfort and ambiance (wood is provided). Please note: guests must bring their own bedding/sleeping bag/pillow as we do not provide that. The cabin is solar powered with a back up gasoline generator. An outdoor fire pit with seating is close by, as well as an outhouse. Walking trails along the beaver pond and property are maintained for your hiking pleasure. There is ample parking for vehicles and trailers.

Weekend Trip to Big Rock Eco Retreat & Campgrounds

What a wonderful time away where it felt that time stood still in the midst of falling leaves and glorious rays of sunshine. Jason and Susie ensured to meet all needs with prompt responses and, when needed, support. We enjoyed viewing the property, a peaceful boat ride and, of course, the accommodations. We didn't want to leave. A true bucket filling experience where we left feeling relaxed and grateful. Only regret is not booking an extra day.

Sarah’s arrival instructions were perfect (our GPS definitely said we arrived before we arrived). We ended up being able to drive all the way in to our site in our Corolla, there was only one rock that stuck out a bit but Sarah warned us about it. This was our 2nd time coming to Iris's property. We've agreed this will be an annual trip for us. Iris is so welcoming and kind. We love getting to chit chat with her during our stay. Her new dog Thunder was an absolute joy to be around. We were lucky to see Sterling again this year as well. You really don't need for much when you stay here. Trailer is very well equipped with the things you'll need to cook meals. Lorwell lake is stunning! Very clear clean water, great for swimming and kayaking. We absolutely love staying here!

3 nights at Camp Rose Island

Staying at the Forest Site was a top notch experience! Sarah and Will were excellent hosts. Sarah met our car at the road when we arrived and showed us to our site so there were no issues at all in finding the campsite. The cooking area was so nice to have, especially since there was a fire ban and we couldn’t cook over the fire pit. The supplied tent was very roomy and comfortable and we also had plenty of space to pitch other tents. The Forest Site felt very isolated and private from the other sites. The shared beach area and swim dock were great and located on a beautiful private lake. Highly recommend and I hope to stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Big Rock Eco Retreat & Campgrounds

We stayed at the lakeside dome for two nights and loved every moment. It was peaceful, well maintained and had everything we needed. When we arrived Jason, the owner, and Rocky his very friendly dog came to greet us. He gave us a tour of the property and the other sites and answered any questions we had. We also went on a tour of the lake which was beautiful. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the area and reccomepnded places we could go. 100/10 could not reccomend enough. We will definitely be coming back!

We had such a lovely time here! It was so quiet, and surrounded by beautiful ravens. There was even one that kept saying hello! The cabin was clean and not buggy. The outhouse was well maintained. They even provide a tent area outside the cabin so we could eat without getting attacked by bees. Such a lovely property, very close by some beaches, small towns and really cool antique shops! The hosts were so warm and friendly. I think our only suggestion would be to bring a foam mattress for the loft bed, as it's a very thin matt to sleep on. We're not in our 20s anymore, and definitely needed a thicker bed! Would definitely recommend this rental. It's quiet, private, relaxing and exactly what we needed. 5/5!
