First Hipcamper Club
Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
Nestled at the edge of the forest on our property, between the Sea of Sumac and the Tall Grass Maze, this is a magical rustic sanctuary surrounded by nature. Enjoy marked walking trails through the forest and your own private garden of herbs and edible flowers. Go for a swim in a pristine local lake at one of the nearby public beaches, or explore the lovely villages of the Valley. You can also simply relax on your private, screened-in covered deck, listening to the birds and the breeze dancing through the trees. This sweet vintage camper has been lovingly restored with an intent of off-grid comfort to allow for the simple pleasure of slowing down. Soothe your nervous system with a combination of digital detox and reconnecting to nature. Immerse yourself in the whimsical imagination of Madawaska Valley artist Jessica Lin—co-owner and creator of the unique interior decor, from the duvet cover to the curtains. Self-guided retreats are available and include guided meditations, choose-your-own-adventure style creative activities, and more. This is also the perfect retreat from distraction for writers and other creatives who are looking for an inspirational spot to create their next work. Or—just come and stay. Relax.{See property description for more details!} This sweet little off-grid vintage trailer is about 6x10' on the inside - just enough space for a comfy double bed + single loft, a small kitchen area equipped with all the essentials, and a table and folding chairs. There's a cooler with ice packs for storing your food and beverages, and plenty of fresh bottled water from our own well. We provide the makings for a basic breakfast, including milk, juice, tea, instant coffee, cereal and fruit. The screened in wrap-around porch houses the Coleman camping stove station and a larger table - perfect for enjoying meals al fresco! There's also a camping toilet adjacent to the trailer, in it's own little private structure. Strings of solar-powered patio lights and rechargeable lanterns give a warm glow to your evening. If you're in the mood to explore, there's a whimsical maze carved into the tall grass meadow next to the trailer, and there are marked walking trails through the 40 acres of forest on the property, about a 2-minute walk from your doorstep. Within a 10-15 minute drive, there are multiple options of public beaches to enjoy swimming and sunning at one of the nearby pristine lakes. The Madawaska Valley is home to many lovely villages, including dozens of local artists, artisans, festivals and farmer's markets. In fact, we are a stop on the Madawaska Valley Studio Tour, which happens the 3rd weekend of July and 1st weekend of October every year. If you're looking for a day-trip, world famous Algonquin Park and all it has to offer can be found just 1 hour east of us, straight along highway 60.
