This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. ● Campsites are modest, intended for 1 RV, trailer or tent, and 1 vehicle.
● Rates are for up to 4 individuals, with a $5 surcharge for additional guests per night.
● Visitors are to check in at the office, arriving before 9pm, exiting by 11pm.
● Speed limit is 10 km/hr.
● Children are not to be unsupervised in the park and on a site by 11pm. Children on bikes require helmets, and no bikes or playground after dark.
● Midnight is quiet time, and no excessive noise ever please.
● Dogs are to be in your control, leashed and picked up after, with no excessive barking.
● Campfires are subject to Nova Scotia burn ban restrictions – no burning 8am-2pm ever. Check Burn Safe website at 2pm daily to see if 2pm or 7pm fires or permitted, or no fires at all. We sell firewood or you can bring your own. Do not move the firepit, and pits or campsites left littered will be a $10 cleaning fee.
● Recycling is mandatory, with garbage, recycling, cardboard, compost and empties bins on site.
● Campers must adhere to the rules for themselves, their family and visitors. Failure to do so will result in notice to leave. Campers are to pay for any property damage caused. No refunds will be granted, including for early departure.

Nestled in the trees on a large deck with the sounds of birds and squirrels all around, this unique structure spans 15 ft across with 14 triangular sides. It holds a double bed, dinning table, rocking chair, 3 burner stove, sink with water, full kitchenette and all the cooking utensils you need. The wood stove keeps the space very warm and cozy and we offer professional massage and reiki. You can walk, ski or bike for hours along a river. Or visit towering gypsum cliffs that host huge bat caves..
Our yurt is tucked away in the trees of our 20 acre wood lot. We provide lots of wood and fire starter for the wood stove but guests should have experience with wood stoves (or be really keen to learn). The stove is big enough to easily heat the whole yurt to cozy comfort but guests should expect to have to keep the stove going in order to keep the space warm and this may mean stoking it once in the night. We provide lots of extra blankets and two pairs of extra slippers for those who forget to bring their own. The solar panel creates enough power to run the lights, charge a cell phone and sometimes a computer but not much more.
The space is beautiful, unique and quite dreamy but it is rustic. There is a composting toilet next to the yurt (with hand sanitizer but no sink) and outdoor showers (with hot water) near our farm house. There is a three burner propane cook stove, cooking and dining wares and a small sink for dishes. There are all the utensils that you may need to cook for yourself but there is limited counter space so cooking elaborate meals is possible but could be cumbersome. There is a cooler and we can stock it with ice packs upon request. We supply coffee and a french press,.
We also offer massage and reiki to guests for $90 (60 min). Morghain Lee is a massage therapist and Reiki Master and enjoys blending these two body therapies for a holistic healing experience.
There is an outdoor fire pit and star gazing chairs. We ask that you only use natural soaps in the shower, the sink, pond or river. We have some Dr Bronners if you like:)
Cell reception on the land depends on the provider but most people have weak service (one or two bars). Enough to maintain a phone connection (if you are not walking around too much) but not enough to download videos. Some people have more or less.
We do allow pets but we ask for an extra $15 contribution to compensate for the extra cleaning. We also ask that dogs not be on the bed and that they don't chase our chickens or kittens.
There are outdoor showers available in spring, summer and fall when the pipes won't freeze. For those wanting to stay for longer periods in the winter we can discuss usage of the shower in our house.

It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. ● Campsites are modest, intended for 1 RV, trailer or tent, and 1 vehicle.
● Rates are for up to 4 individuals, with a $5 surcharge for additional guests per night.
● Visitors are to check in at the office, arriving before 9pm, exiting by 11pm.
● Speed limit is 10 km/hr.
● Children are not to be unsupervised in the park and on a site by 11pm. Children on bikes require helmets, and no bikes or playground after dark.
● Midnight is quiet time, and no excessive noise ever please.
● Dogs are to be in your control, leashed and picked up after, with no excessive barking.
● Campfires are subject to Nova Scotia burn ban restrictions – no burning 8am-2pm ever. Check Burn Safe website at 2pm daily to see if 2pm or 7pm fires or permitted, or no fires at all. We sell firewood or you can bring your own. Do not move the firepit, and pits or campsites left littered will be a $10 cleaning fee.
● Recycling is mandatory, with garbage, recycling, cardboard, compost and empties bins on site.
● Campers must adhere to the rules for themselves, their family and visitors. Failure to do so will result in notice to leave. Campers are to pay for any property damage caused. No refunds will be granted, including for early departure.

Nestled in the trees on a large deck with the sounds of birds and squirrels all around, this unique structure spans 15 ft across with 14 triangular sides. It holds a double bed, dinning table, rocking chair, 3 burner stove, sink with water, full kitchenette and all the cooking utensils you need. The wood stove keeps the space very warm and cozy and we offer professional massage and reiki. You can walk, ski or bike for hours along a river. Or visit towering gypsum cliffs that host huge bat caves..
Our yurt is tucked away in the trees of our 20 acre wood lot. We provide lots of wood and fire starter for the wood stove but guests should have experience with wood stoves (or be really keen to learn). The stove is big enough to easily heat the whole yurt to cozy comfort but guests should expect to have to keep the stove going in order to keep the space warm and this may mean stoking it once in the night. We provide lots of extra blankets and two pairs of extra slippers for those who forget to bring their own. The solar panel creates enough power to run the lights, charge a cell phone and sometimes a computer but not much more.
The space is beautiful, unique and quite dreamy but it is rustic. There is a composting toilet next to the yurt (with hand sanitizer but no sink) and outdoor showers (with hot water) near our farm house. There is a three burner propane cook stove, cooking and dining wares and a small sink for dishes. There are all the utensils that you may need to cook for yourself but there is limited counter space so cooking elaborate meals is possible but could be cumbersome. There is a cooler and we can stock it with ice packs upon request. We supply coffee and a french press,.
We also offer massage and reiki to guests for $90 (60 min). Morghain Lee is a massage therapist and Reiki Master and enjoys blending these two body therapies for a holistic healing experience.
There is an outdoor fire pit and star gazing chairs. We ask that you only use natural soaps in the shower, the sink, pond or river. We have some Dr Bronners if you like:)
Cell reception on the land depends on the provider but most people have weak service (one or two bars). Enough to maintain a phone connection (if you are not walking around too much) but not enough to download videos. Some people have more or less.
We do allow pets but we ask for an extra $15 contribution to compensate for the extra cleaning. We also ask that dogs not be on the bed and that they don't chase our chickens or kittens.
There are outdoor showers available in spring, summer and fall when the pipes won't freeze. For those wanting to stay for longer periods in the winter we can discuss usage of the shower in our house.

What a hidden little paradise this is. We had an incredible early Valentines get away thanks to the hosts and the property. We had neighbours but the tiny houses are positioned so perfectly for privacy that you don’t even realize anyone is next to you.
Our favourite part was relaxing in the hot tub and taken in the amazing view it was a clear star filled sky that was so peaceful and romantic. The bed was incredibly comfortable (and this is coming from someone who had two back surgeries).
All in all if you are looking for the perfect getaway, look no farther you have found it in the Lavender Suite!
We had our dog with us and it was such a sweet and unexpected touch that they have bowls for your animals water and food, extra poop bags and even a dog bed for their comfort!

Our family of four enjoyed the solitude this cabin on a small lake offered for a much needed staycation. We enjoying resting in the hammock and the gentle rhythm the decks rocking chair provided. We brought our own, but there are several fishing rods available and ready to use. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Looks like there’s going to be some upcoming renovations to the cabin so we can’t wait to see what’s coming up next at Grumpy Bear Hollow!

Stayed at the Auraura Tent. About 5 minute hike up to the tent. (Keyword UP).
The experience was well thought out with care and more comforts then I was expecting. Power in the tent with a fan and a lamp. Open the skylights to view the stars at night. A small wood stove for the cooler months and a BBQ. Did you forget your lighter, flashlight or bug spray? Don't worry, they have you covered. A well stocked and very pleasant kitchen was available. (You bring the food).
Some of the off grid elements, like toilets, were a bit different but well documented. The site has lots of trail markers and solar lights to help you get around.
In the end, bring you clothes and food, almost everything else you need is on site.
It was mostly quiet, though I could hear the regular loading and unloading of the nearby ferry.
All in all, a great stay. Would go again.

We spent three nights in the Eager Beaver cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed . The shower in the cabin was not hooked up yet, but the near by outdoor shower was a very unique experience which we enjoyed. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery and the sounds of nature. We Paddleboarded on the lake and my husband went for a refreshing swim, i was not as adventurous as him. My favorite thing about this place is the unobstructed view of the sky from the peak which was an amazing place to view the stars and look at the sky at night.
We had a relaxing stay and plan to return in the fall.

We had the nicest time staying at The Zzz Moose/ Dancing Moose cabins! The cabin was very clean, there was plenty of space for our family and our kiddo loved the loft. The private bathrooms were a nice touch, and we easily made dinner there both nights with the kitchen supplies and private refrigerator. (All of which were very well maintained and clean)
The location was great for us to enjoy the Cabot Trail, and also it’s right on the ocean, so we enjoyed walking down to the water for sunset. The host was incredibly communicative and happily answered questions throughout our time there. And to top it all off, he’s an incredible chef, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast by him.

We loved Tanya and John's hospitality! The place is absolutely magnificent 👌 it was a pleasure to enjoy nature at its best, and the dome,,,, well,, you have to visit to see for yourself 🙈💖
It was a wonderful opportunity to stay in the woods, while living in an upscale hotel room. They have thought of everything and the amenities were well planned and thoughtful.
We will choose this place again and again.💚💚

Beautiful spot. Really pretty mossy forest to admire at the front of the dome and a large green grassy area at the entrance perfect for kids and pets. And the dome itself had everything we could need and more. It was impeccably clean as well. Great bed and electric fireplace to stay warm too. Will definitely be back!

Amazing experience. Exceeded my expectations. The host added so many little details that made it extra cosy and comfortable. Love the solar lights thru the woods. The labels and instructions were appreciated. Highly, highly recommend. I think this may become a yearly retreat for me
