Our Bunkie cabins are fully powered, insulated and furnished Bunkies.
Each of our two Bunkies has a double with a double bunkie bed on top. We allow up to two adults and two children (less than 10 yrs.). We provide mattress, pillows, bed linen and an electric heater to stay warm. Please get your blankets/ sleeping bags. Microwave and hot water kettle are provided. We do not provide any utensils, tableware, cutlery etc.
We provide complimentary wi-fi and free parking onsite at designated space (walking distance to the cabins). We are close to three lakes, Ski Martock, Ontree Adventure park and are in walking distance to gas station, convenience store and NSLC. We are 55 mins to Halifax and 20 minutes to Windsor.
Outdoor shared firepit barbeque is available at no additional cost. No supplies are provided.
Access our Cedar Barrel Sauna at only $50 plus taxes per one hour session.

Nestled in the trees on a large deck with the sounds of birds and squirrels all around, this unique structure spans 15 ft across with 14 triangular sides. It holds a double bed, dinning table, rocking chair, 3 burner stove, sink with water, full kitchenette and all the cooking utensils you need. The wood stove keeps the space very warm and cozy and we offer professional massage and reiki. You can walk, ski or bike for hours along a river. Or visit towering gypsum cliffs that host huge bat caves..
Our yurt is tucked away in the trees of our 20 acre wood lot. We provide lots of wood and fire starter for the wood stove but guests should have experience with wood stoves (or be really keen to learn). The stove is big enough to easily heat the whole yurt to cozy comfort but guests should expect to have to keep the stove going in order to keep the space warm and this may mean stoking it once in the night. We provide lots of extra blankets and two pairs of extra slippers for those who forget to bring their own. The solar panel creates enough power to run the lights, charge a cell phone and sometimes a computer but not much more.
The space is beautiful, unique and quite dreamy but it is rustic. There is a composting toilet next to the yurt (with hand sanitizer but no sink) and outdoor showers (with hot water) near our farm house. There is a three burner propane cook stove, cooking and dining wares and a small sink for dishes. There are all the utensils that you may need to cook for yourself but there is limited counter space so cooking elaborate meals is possible but could be cumbersome. There is a cooler and we can stock it with ice packs upon request. We supply coffee and a french press,.
We also offer massage and reiki to guests for $90 (60 min). Morghain Lee is a massage therapist and Reiki Master and enjoys blending these two body therapies for a holistic healing experience.
There is an outdoor fire pit and star gazing chairs. We ask that you only use natural soaps in the shower, the sink, pond or river. We have some Dr Bronners if you like:)
Cell reception on the land depends on the provider but most people have weak service (one or two bars). Enough to maintain a phone connection (if you are not walking around too much) but not enough to download videos. Some people have more or less.
We do allow pets but we ask for an extra $15 contribution to compensate for the extra cleaning. We also ask that dogs not be on the bed and that they don't chase our chickens or kittens.
There are outdoor showers available in spring, summer and fall when the pipes won't freeze. For those wanting to stay for longer periods in the winter we can discuss usage of the shower in our house.

We are located on the east side (sunrise) on the Cabot Trail, about 15 minutes from Ski Cape Smokey, 25 minutes from the entrance of the Cape Breton Highland National Park with over 35 well maintained hikes.
The on site restaurant, The Dancing Moose Cafe, is changing its activity starting this year (2025) and will only be open, serving breakfast for guests that stay on the property. Full a la carte breakfast is available, including our "famoose" Dutch Pannekoek. Breakfast is optional and not included in the rental fee.
There are 4 different kind of vacation rentals on the property,
The Sleeping Moose Cottage (1x), The Zzzz Moose Camping Cabins (3x) The ZzzzMoose 2.0 Camping Cabin (1x) and the Birch Plain Tower 1x).
The Sleeping Moose has a minimum of 2 nights. All other rentals can be booked for 1 night, or more of course.
Except for the Birch Plain Tower al our vacation rentals are pet friendly.

3 nights at Sally's Brook Cabins, Glamping Tent
We had an absolutely fabulous time at Sally's Brook. It's hard to describe the specialness of this property. Lisa and Glen took such good care of us. Glen gave us a little tour around some of the woods outside the "Hive" and showed us their sustainable energy set up. Lisa warmly welcomed us -- especially warmly lit the fire for the sauna (which was amazing) -- and gave us great recommendations (e.g., a local puffin tour!). We had fun hiking up the hills to our glamping tent, and Lisa also was there to give us a ride up if needed. We got a kick out of the composting toilet and loved sleeping in sheets way nicer than the ones we've got at home. For us, the Aurora Tent was a nice balance between outdoor camping and cabin life. Perfect location for start/end of the Cabot Trail.

Spent the weekend in Highlands National Park hiking. The Loft Cabin was perfect for spot for a base camp. Extremely comfortable and peaceful. Had everything I needed including direct parking and heat (night outside temps were still cold). You couldn't ask for a better experience within a local community. The bed was absolutely wonderful and had great nights rest after long day hikes. Cabin is heated and furnished very well. They have everything you need to be off grid for several days. If needed all cooking equipment and utensils were provided.
I sat outside under the gazebo and watched the rural community at work. When you live in a suburban neighborhood you know it's all around but never seen. I was able to take it all in and just enjoy life.
I would recommend this location. Easy access, great accommodations, good location for park access, and wonderful locals.

1 night at Glamping Dome Near Peggy’s Cove
The dome was beautiful! We had such a wonderful time. It was picturesque and peaceful. All amenities were as shown in the posting. It was clean and cosy. The sauna was a nice touch and easy to operate. Our hosts were on hand if we had any issues and their communication was brilliant. We loved our short stay and can't wait to go again!

We had a wonderful stay st the Dome in the woods. It was such a beautiful and relaxing space. We were so excited that the space was dog friendly. The hosts thought of every detail including supplies to make our pupper comfortable! The location is fantastic with Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, and Halifax all driable within 20min-1hour.

Group trip
Our family of four enjoyed the solitude this cabin on a small lake offered for a much needed staycation. We enjoying resting in the hammock and the gentle rhythm the decks rocking chair provided. We brought our own, but there are several fishing rods available and ready to use. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Looks like there’s going to be some upcoming renovations to the cabin so we can’t wait to see what’s coming up next at Grumpy Bear Hollow!

Everything was great here. Comfortable cabin in a very beautiful location. Ton was helpful and friendly. A great base from which to explore the Cabot Trail. Tasty breakfast too!

Stayed at the Auraura Tent. About 5 minute hike up to the tent. (Keyword UP).
The experience was well thought out with care and more comforts then I was expecting. Power in the tent with a fan and a lamp. Open the skylights to view the stars at night. A small wood stove for the cooler months and a BBQ. Did you forget your lighter, flashlight or bug spray? Don't worry, they have you covered. A well stocked and very pleasant kitchen was available. (You bring the food).
Some of the off grid elements, like toilets, were a bit different but well documented. The site has lots of trail markers and solar lights to help you get around.
In the end, bring you clothes and food, almost everything else you need is on site.
It was mostly quiet, though I could hear the regular loading and unloading of the nearby ferry.
All in all, a great stay. Would go again.

The camping dome exceeding our expectations by a wide margin. It contains anything you could possibly need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Tanya was great to communicate with. I only wish we lived in the maritimes so we could return regularly.

It’s true- the cabin is both cozy and convenient! A very basic plywood shed has been loved into a sweet little spot. The bed was very comfortable. I literally was just there to sleep, and it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Thanks!

We spent three nights in the Eager Beaver cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed . The shower in the cabin was not hooked up yet, but the near by outdoor shower was a very unique experience which we enjoyed. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery and the sounds of nature. We Paddleboarded on the lake and my husband went for a refreshing swim, i was not as adventurous as him. My favorite thing about this place is the unobstructed view of the sky from the peak which was an amazing place to view the stars and look at the sky at night.
We had a relaxing stay and plan to return in the fall.

Weekend Trip to The Dancing Moose Vacation rentals
We had the nicest time staying at The Zzz Moose/ Dancing Moose cabins! The cabin was very clean, there was plenty of space for our family and our kiddo loved the loft. The private bathrooms were a nice touch, and we easily made dinner there both nights with the kitchen supplies and private refrigerator. (All of which were very well maintained and clean)
The location was great for us to enjoy the Cabot Trail, and also it’s right on the ocean, so we enjoyed walking down to the water for sunset. The host was incredibly communicative and happily answered questions throughout our time there. And to top it all off, he’s an incredible chef, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast by him.

We loved Tanya and John's hospitality! The place is absolutely magnificent 👌 it was a pleasure to enjoy nature at its best, and the dome,,,, well,, you have to visit to see for yourself 🙈💖
It was a wonderful opportunity to stay in the woods, while living in an upscale hotel room. They have thought of everything and the amenities were well planned and thoughtful.

Beautiful spot. Really pretty mossy forest to admire at the front of the dome and a large green grassy area at the entrance perfect for kids and pets. And the dome itself had everything we could need and more. It was impeccably clean as well. Great bed and electric fireplace to stay warm too. Will definitely be back!
