The property manager was fantastic. However being Easter weekend it was very overcrowded with music playing all night. We were secluded by the lake however other parts of the property had 100+ people. Felt more like a poorly run caravan park than the private experience you expect from a hip camp. Left a day early.

We found the campsite to be quite different to the website and had a mixed experience. The toilet/shower facilities were not enough for the 15+ groups on the site, especially for an extra $15 per person. The site advertised a games room was included however the online pictures were of a different games room which we didn’t have access to.
We had concerns about the lack of fire regulations and there was no fire fighting equipment. We had to evacuate on the last night as another group caused a bushfire at the entrance to the camp. This meant the whole camp were endangered for hours until the CFA were able to escort us off the property.
The owners were lovely people however they did not come around and alert groups or even ask that all other campfires be put out. We did not feel safe and had a very scary experience which was disappointing.
We would consider returning only in winter months when the property would not be so dry, and access a site without danger of large trees overhead given our site was particularly windy.

I highly recommend Frank’s Farm, especially for families with young kids. The kids had a wonderful time with all the facilities, and the hosts were both lovely people. There is so much to do on the farm, and it is perfect for first time campers. I wouldn’t stay here if you want to ‘get away from it all’ because it can be a little busy, plus it’s near the highway, but it ticked all the boxes for us - a genuine camping experience with all the facilities and mod cons (but way better than a holiday park). Loved it!

We loved Frank’s Farm. The farm was very well kept, our kids (7yo and 5yo) loved roaming the grounds, the playground and the animals. Only a short drive to snow and only 90 mins to the city - perfect for a quick getaway with the family like we did.

What a wonderful place to camp....great views, ample space allocated to your site. Steven was great with communication and always answered his phone lol. I would definitely recommend staying at Franks Farm to anyone.

The camp was quite underwhelming for the price we were charged, unfortunately the photos don't reflect the actual campsites shown. Some of the toilets had poo smeared all over the walls, glad we didn't fork out the $15 charge per person. However check-in was easy and signage was adeqaute.

We booked a stay through Hipcamp in early February 2025, planning an overnight trip with our partner, kids, and dog. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the glowing reviews that convinced us to book.
The property was not as well-maintained as described. We paid $15 per person to use the bathrooms near the main house, but they were too far for the kids to walk to when they needed to go, so we had to drive. The shower was dirty, with visible hair and scum, and there was only a small amount of toilet paper with no hand towels or toiletries provided besides hand wash. Given that the total cost was close to a budget hotel stay, we expected better facilities.
The landscape also didn’t match the photos. The "lake" was nearly dried up, and the grass was extremely dry, creating a fire hazard. There were no fire safety guidelines, no water buckets nearby, and unfortunately, a spark from our barbecue set a small patch of grass on fire. With the strong winds that day, it felt risky. While we understand that weather conditions and droughts are out of the host’s control, some fire safety measures would have been appreciated.
On a positive note, the host was polite and communicated well, but overall, we felt the value didn’t match the price or expectations set by the listing.
Would we book again? Maybe in a different season, but only if maintenance and safety concerns were addressed.

Peaceful & quiet with nice view of dam. Big power lines behind but not close. Bits & pieces left on ground by previous campers so they dam area looks a bit unloved. The camping area around the dam needs a good cleanup. In summer grass not green (as in photos). I still had a good sleep in a secure environment. Many wallabies about.

Overpriced!!! Couldn’t use any facilities without paying extra. Playground was definitely creepy and near some random car yard/ trailer trash. Do not come here with kids and let the photos fool you! You can use the lake and a little boat but other than that it was a huge disappointment!

We went off peak so we were lucky to have almost the entire plane/water view for ourself. Woke up to beautiful views and wild animals in the morning. Steven is a lovely host and maintained the common areas well. Would love to be back some other time!

We enjoyed our camping to the fullest here at franks farm and the view and location was breathtakingly beautiful. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The lake was a bonus with the two boats thats totally free to take out. Very calm and quiet environment and lovely campers all around. The public area and gaming room with the toilets are clean and well maintained
Would definitely recommend and come back.

Had an amazing Australia Day weekend 2025, lovely place on site 1 in front of the dam.
Vans spaced out gives you the feeling of being alone to enjoy the sounds of just the birds.

Large slightly sloped lot, room for a large group. Overall beautiful view, didn't notice to much during the day but at night time to freeway and vline train were very audible but didn't overly impact my stay. Close proximity to local towns for supplies.
Some minor improvements, on welcome request people reduce noise at a reasonable time, 3 nights here, adjacent partying stopped between 12 and 2am.
Clean the grounds, a lot of abandoned cars, shipping containers, broken toilets which take away from the scenery and the feeling of a remote get away.
Overall, happy to have gone here, hosts were friendly, property was large enough you didn't notice other guests.

It was our first time camping and our kids thoroughly enjoyed it. All the facilities are complete and very clean. Our site location is close to the toilet, bathroom, playground and farm animals. Steven was very fast in responding to our message and call and answer our queries. His father also offered help in case we have trouble setting up our stuff.
There's also mobile toilets located on different sites for easy access. It was worth paying for the toilet as the toilets and bathrooms near the main area and near the game lounge are newly renovated and spacious. I think there could be more photos in the listing to show what they have provided. There's 1 arcade game, ping pong table, mahjong table, pool table, dining table, full kitchen, lots of lounge sofa and coffee table, a big TV in the gaming / function room. There's plenty of board game, books and DVDs as well. I'm not exactly sure if they're only for function group or for anyone that had paid for toilet access. The kitchen has microwave, rice cooker, a baby booster seat.
I could see ready built tents in some other locations too like the the bell tents, the igloo tents, the normal tents. Also a big dining hall for group function and vending machine.
I'm very glad we booked this place for our first camping experience. My little one enjoyed the playground and visiting the sheep and chicken and ducks. We also enjoyed boat rowing in the pond. Stars were beaufiful at night. We will definitely visit again.

Awesome place to camp! All my 4 kids enjoyed with heaps of activities around - animal feeding, playground, camp fire & rowing boat! For camp fire, there’s no need to buy the woods as you can use dried tree branches for free. Overall, very happy with the place & hospitality.

Do you enjoy the sweet sounds of the Princess highway, camping underneath power lines that provide a lovely hum all night and having to deal with other campers blaring Bollywood music then this is the place for you. Combine that with some Ivan Milat vibes from the creepy playground it is quite the experience. Won't be coming back in a rush...

Frank was very welcoming when we arrived and lucky for us we had the place to ourselves. We stayed at the lake site which was beautifully peaceful. One of the staff, I believe his name was Richard, helped us out with our Ute in the morning too

Loved our sites., 1 and 2 , all site were placed heeps apart, great peaceful view by the water.
Being the end (site 1) we had very little walk past traffic, definitely could not hear any traffic or train. 😊
Re high power poles , yes power lines, on the adjacent property up the hill behind Franks farm, behind site 1 and 2 , viewed only in “one” direction, not in the direction of views or lagoon. Definitely nothing to complain about. Plenty of other sites to choose from.
You can’t blame any sites or host etc for other badly behaved campers, can happen anywhere you go, at our recent van park stay the sites were tiny, people and noise everywhere. Here we had no noisy neighbours, by dusk couldn’t a hear a sound. Rather come to this type of farm stay for my RnR. Price in line with site size, which were huge. We had two motorhome on our site we could have circled the wagon had six.
Everyone could do their bit and clean up after them selves so sites nice for next campers.
We helped hosts and did some rubbish collecting, as lazy others hid rubbish up in the bush etc. 😡
I was raised n Trafalgar, was so pleased to come back here and find I knew this property as I kept my horses here on this very property back in the 70s.
Steven and Cherry made us very welcome, coffee was great, complimentary nibbles and junior loved her time on the four wheeler. My dog wanted to go home, we didn’t. .Definitely will be back.

Franks farm is truly a wonderful delight. My friend and I are avid campers and been to many places. When we booked for Franks farm, we didn't expect a lot out of it because we were happy simply to get away camping for a few days, no matter the place. However Franks farm really turned our heads. Not only did it have a beautiful ,almost lake like dam - with free usage of row boats ! but the real beauty for us boys is the common room that had everything in it! Arcade games, pool table, vending machines, couch, big tele, stove, fridge and clean toilets and showers ( small fee, but trust me worth every penny) !! Seriously, to me it felt like I was in a hotel. Then when you are done and cleaned you simply head back to nature and camp ! Soooo goood !!!
Steven and his crew got it all figured out and did not bother us one bit.
Despite the rain as well as the scorching summer heat, we absolutely enjoyed our stay. A place close to Melbourne yet seemed so far away !
