in Mountain View Camping, QueenslandThis is our third time camping at Mountain View and we love the space and quietness. Close to towns if you want a day trip or just sit back and enjoy. Great hosts also and off leash dog camping at its best. Heaps of space
Past trip
in Mountain View Camping, QueenslandSecond time for us and we love the fact that there are only four sites you can book. Lots of shade, grass is mowed and river access is easy. Thanks Natalie and Garry for sharing a little of your diary farm and my hat is off to your hard work each day. Youâre fabulous hosts and once again, our two dogs are stuffed and love enjoying the off leash freedom. Much appreciated. Lisa and Donald
Past trip
in Dam Crazy Camping, QueenslandDefinitely dam crazy to miss this
Lisa K.recommends this listing.
(Dispersed site)
Fabulous hosts, picturesque views, peace and quiet, starry nights, dog friendly, lots of walks to explore or choose to relax with a book observing all the bird life. We loved Dam Crazy and so did our two dogs. Walks are endless for your dogs to be off leash but be vigilant for grass seeds. We pulled five out of our border collie and luckily only two had begun to burrow under his skin. Excellent flushing toilets up the top and enough room to spread out. You can pre book sites which we were not aware of so Iâd recommend this. Thereâs not many flattish sites so best asking if this is a concern for you. Excellent communication and we would definitely return

Past trip
in Kenilworth Free Range Farm, QueenslandFabulous quiet mary river camping
A fabulous little camping spot tucked along the Mary River. While the sites are dispersed up the top of the river, access to the river is really only from sites 3 and 4 with 4 being the easier of these two, down a track. Sites 1-3 offer summer shade and Gordon has done a great job of offering level areas well kept with mowed grass. Loved the fact cows came up to the fence. Possibly wouldnât want to tow anything in that is super long or heavy if it rains. Limited phone coverage but the height of the river provided some great swimming to cool off and the dogs had a ball being off leash all weekend. Close to Kenilworth if you need any supplies but we will definitely be back to site 3.
Past trip
in Frogâs Hollow Scenic Rim, QueenslandSecluded camping at its best
Lisa K.recommends this listing.
(Dispersed site)
Just a slice of farming paradise tucked away in the prettiest of valleys. Each site is spread out so youâre not on top of other campers. The small running creek provides for dogs cooling off or kids having a splash and explore. We camped in the largest of the sites Naked Frog which had the added bonus of electric fencing around it to keep livestock out which means no cow poo for the dogs to roll in- or so we thought! Loved the serenity of this place but high clearance caravans only is what Iâd recommend. Camper trailers easy and I can see why Jackie suggests 4wd if itâs been raining. A toilet scattered between sites and a fab shower with gold coin donation up at Naked Frog. Hike the hills for a view of the property or drive to Rathy and explore Mt Barney area. Thanks for sharing Jackie and Ken and oh that grass! No prickles felt so good under bare feet đŚś

UNPOWERED Sites @ Hidden Camp
in Hidden Camp, QueenslandCamping with dogs off leash
Lisa K.recommends this listing.
(Dispersed site)
The roaming bird life from chickens to ducks etc. We loved the option to also have our dogs off leash so long as they didnât chase the birds, which they didnât. There werenât many other campers so we felt we had privacy up the far back and the hosts have tried to create a little bit of comfort also with the camp kitchen area. It looks very inviting. It is what I would call rural suburbia as itâs a small acreage with adjoining neighbours. We could here cars in the distance and a neighbour we believe, playing music through to at least 2am but overall, enjoyed the doggy freedom. We were self contained but there is a porta loo down the front area. There is limited areas for caravans and campers due to the trees and small slopes but if the hosts keep numbers low, this will be a great getaway for us. Sadly we didnât meet the hosts nor the caretaker due to unforeseen issues so hopefully next time we can. Thanks for letting us stay and we really love the atmosphere you have going with the small dam and activities.

What a fabulous find Stanmore farm stay was. With a weekend of rain forecast, we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves for a night and we couldnât fault Ray and Cherylâs hospitality. The dozen fresh eggs for breakfast, the chopped firewood and one incredible throne for a toilet, Ray and Cheryl have established a great place so close to the Sunshine Coast. Sites are spread out amongst their 40 acres and the cows wandering through your site is a treat. The dam is certainly adequate to cool off in and with the Bellthorpe NP at your doorstep, thereâs lots of exploring. Our two dogs had a ball running around. The toilet is a little walk if you choose the sites on the other side of the dam but you will have more privacy over there. We will definitely return to enjoy a campfire and the hospitality Ray showed us.

Past trip
Echo Valley, Amamoor Creek
in Echo Valley, QueenslandQuiet and dog friendly
Lisa K.recommends this listing.
(Dispersed site)
Quite a few communication issues to start with and I was certainly hesitate to drive out there having not heard anything from Lee BUT after being out there with no reception, I now know why. We did manage to get hold of Lee on our way to Echo Valley. Spot on for directions to get there where we were met by John who was very accommodating and friendly. Itâs not a huge area that I would camp in and basically you have three main areas that I would recommend for camping. There is out in the middle of the paddock but no shade. Thereâs several dwellings on the property but not an issue. As you enter the gate, straight to the left is where we camped and where the waterhole for swimming is. Head down the short steep track over the small creek crossing and then turn left leads you to a really nice shaded area where you can access the bottom end of the water hole. Turn right and head over the open paddock and thereâs an area near four gum trees. No creek access really. Friendly farm dogs visited us several times and our two dogs were sort of ok with this. Even though we were camped 10 m from Amamoor Creek Rd, the gun club was the only reason cars drove past. It was never an issue. Lots to see if youâre into 4x4 or head back to Amamoor Creek campground for a short hike or Amamar day use area for a dog friendly hike. For the price we loved our stay and both John and Lee were very hospitable. Thanks to you both

Site 2 - Platypus
in Mountain View Camping, QueenslandPeaceful creek camping
Fabulous hosts who made sure we had everything we needed to make our weekend camping trip amazing. Well maintained sites spread across a couple of acres where you will find heaps of shade and sun to relax in. Easy walk down to the creek that is deep enough for a great swim and bring your floaties to relax. Our two dogs loved the freedom of being off leash and with only one other site booked, we would thoroughly recommend Mountain View camping. As previous reviews have said, while the road borders the sites, itâs not a busy road at all and Kandanga farm store sells lots of local produce and serves a great coffee and cake. The porta loo was kept amazingly clean thanks to Natalie checking daily and replacing loo paper. Thank you both for sharing a little bit of your property.
