We had a lovely weekend at the cabin! A great way to camp whilst still having luxuries such as a toilet, table, bbq and solar power! We especially loved having a fenced area that the dogs could run about in.
The cows were great but weren't convinced by our moos :(

The fire was so warm and cosy - Emily lit it for us as we arrived late. We loved the basic camp-style kitchen (glamp kitchen). The bed and linens were so comfy. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Hot water great. Kallaroo was everthing we hoped it would be and so much more. So many beautiful walks around the property espescially down to the river where we spotted platypus and wombat burrows. Our dog loved roaming the property with swims in the river and curling up by the open fire place at night. Lots of friendly horses to pat and a gorgeous little donkey named horse! Even the Emus will come and check you out too. The cabin was extremly clean and comfortable and the extra touches of a local bottle of wine and homemade cookies was very thoughtful. A fully stocked bar fridge with mircro brewery Longstocking bevies was a great touch and well worth sampling. We highly recommend this beautiful place. Kallarroo Log Cabin is a fabulous hidden gem. Surrounded by breathtaking hills and bushland, it’s private, quiet, well-equipped and the perfect place to escape for a while. We particularly enjoyed hiking throughout their property, accompanied by their two beautiful, well-behaved Maremma dogs, relaxing by the fire (both inside the cabin and outside), and observing the abundance of wildlife and animals throughout the property (emus, highland cows, lambs, alpacas, horses). We will definitely be coming back again!

Shellgrove is a great little cottage, well-equipped and a perfect getaway for two.
The host, Emily, was very kind and friendly, she escorted us and made sure we had everything we needed. The place feels so private with lots of vast open space around it, and beautiful views over the countryside. We really loved the outdoor fire pit in the evening and were able to enjoy a sky full of stars! There is a wood fireplace indoors which keeps the place so warm and cozy. Ideal for an autumn/winter trip. Very much recommend. We can’t wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay at Stonevale cabin. The clean warm shed and combustion fireplace (and firewood) saved us from the weather when we arrived. Check in directions were clear and easy to follow.
The shed has a folding table and a couple of chairs, along with a solar battery setup which was very useful for paying our portable fridge and charging devices. The fireplace outside (with steel cooking plate) was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view of the surrounding valley and the stars at night. The drop toilet was very clean (didn't smell) and there was plenty of drinking water in the large rainwater tank.
Outside the immediate fenced area was a small clear ankle deep stream and you could walk around the wider valley. The surrounding areas was quiet farmland and forest. Turos river was a few km away and Nimmitabell was a 30 min drive on a good quality 2wd dirt road (4wd was needed for small stretch of driveway into property near dam). Mobile phone reception was very weak but registered about 3-4km on road towards Nimmitabell (full reception available along with cafes, bowlo, fuel, bakery and basic shopping supplies).
Overall a great property, we would certainly stay again.

Weekend Trip to Kallarroo Farm, nr Nimmitabel
We arrived here in the dark and were welcomed by the host Beata with a quick run-down on how she'd set the place up for us and how to work the necessities. We were super impressed by the authenticity of the old European-style slab cabin, but also by the clever use of mod-cons to make the place just so nice in every way. Without giving too much of the surprise away; she just got lots of the "little things right". Norbit is evidently a clever builder and obviously played his part along the way too.
They were also both charming and helpful without ever being intrusive.
The property is incredible, with a view we loved every minute of. The river is a wonderful feature and lots of water after recent rains made for interesting treks up the little tributaries during the day. We even saw a platypus.... We could say more lovely things about this place, but to sum it up in one word? Relaxing :)
