We have 245 acres with an area of bushland and other lovely areas with scattered trees, plus some open areas. Currently we have a choice of camping areas for caravans and tents, some nestled in amongst the tree line. Other areas alongside the dam. We keep all the camping areas slashed for safety and to allow easier access to find a suitable camping spot. We also have a hut available in the bush area. This hut is secluded and has its own outdoor private toilet. There is no shower, electricity or fresh water available, however we do have a flush toilet at the camping and caravan site. Campers would need to be self-sufficient otherwise. Please note we don't allow motorbikes, Quads or firearms on the property and there are no exceptions, sorry. We run sheep on our property and have wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and echidnas. We also have farm animals such as cows, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, geese, and dogs. We have 8 dams, 3 of which have fish as well as yabbies throughout the year. Fire pits located in designated areas and only to used during non fire ban periods and to be supervised at all times. We're happy for you to bring your dog however you would be required to keep it under your control or on a leash and away from the sheep. No motor bikes, quads, firearms permitted and no exceptions. No diving off jetty Supervise children at all times. Water, dams, firepits, bushwalking and all areas can be dangerous. Caution, dams may be dangerous, and water is deep. Do not enter paddocks with cows and horses. Beware of snakes. Eudora Farm provides our guests with a unique opportunity to enjoy a multitude of activities, including but not limited to swimming ,fishing, boating, camping, camp fires, bush-walking and other farm related activities. Merigan Farm is a 1400 Hectare (3500 acre) working sheep and cattle farm. Our family has lived at Merigan for more than 50 years. It has been a farm since the 1840s and we still run sheep and cattle in a regenerative manner, to this day. It’s a pleasure to be able to share the countryside and farm with guests. We currently offer two accommodation options: Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape. The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay. Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range. It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening. Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden. Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area. Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies. Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

We had such a beautiful time here. The best spot for some R&R! Surrounded by beautiful bush land and a good spot for a swim in the river right out the front. The cabin was nice and cosy and the indoor fireplace was such a bonus. All of the kitchen essentials were provided which was great so we could pack lightly!

Lovely little rustic cabin - perfect for our family Easter break. It gave us plenty of quality family time reconnecting with our kids without wifi- plenty of uno and charades! The campfire each night was a huge hit with the city slickers, enjoying toasted marshmallows and a few cheeky beverages! We would recommend this to everyone - equipped with all mod cons, ample bedding, abundant firewood and if you’re seeking tranquility, waking to beautiful bird calls and being at one with nature don’t look further afield! Absolutely loved this rustic little bush shack. I loved all the details inside the hut and definitely appreciate the flushing toilet close by. Handy to have a BBQ supplied and various cooking items. Nice big firepit with tools to use. 100% recommend either staying in the hut here or camping (as the camp sites looked pretty good too).

Equip with all the basics, we had a perfect weekend ‘camping’ without having to worry about bringing any gear other than linen, food and drinks. What a wonderful, restorative escape! Such a top spot by the river. Amazing swimming hole for hot days. Saw platypuses, a wombat and water dragons. Simple, rustic, perfect shack. So well positioned; had everything we needed. Good walking nearby. Looking forward to going back already. Phil was a great host.

Awesome example of a Hipcamp and how they should be… so well kept with mowed grass Camps are spread out & there are flushing toilets at them all or close by We had the bush shack for the weekend with camping around it… was amazing with all of what you need to enjoy a weekend away We will def be back 👍

Weekend Trip to Scribbly Gum secluded bush camping

We loved the River Shack at Phils! The water had the perfect little swimming and fishing holeright in front of the shack. The resident platypus visited every day which was SO cool. Spent our evenings by the fire outside. The outdoor sink and cooking set up meant we barely had to use our own kit which was super convenient. Thanks Phil I think we'll be back!

4 nights at Scribbly Gum secluded bush camping

The shack is in such a beautiful spot, it felt very private (except for the bird life!). The river is absolutely beautiful to swim in and we were lucky enough to see the platypus swimming about. The shack has a double burner gas cooker and a little camping single burner that can be used outside as well. It was a great place to stay even with a bit of rain, with a cosy fire that kept us warm inside. There’s a bit of wildlife about, no reception and no toilets apart from a bucket in an outhouse so as long as that’s not a problem for you, you will have a wonderful escape from the outside world!!!

Love the Shack, the inside and outside of the Shack is clean and tidy. The property is very near the river and my 2 sons enjoyed swimming and fishing in the river. The Shack have a fireplace inside for cold nights. The environment is very quite and serene. Very relaxing place to camp.
