Bamarang Bush Retreat is a family-owned and operated business set on 120 acres of ancient bushland in a prehistoric river valley. With handcrafted accommodations, it offers privacy and seclusion among towering gum trees, located just 2.5 hours from Sydney and Canberra. Nestled alongside the Shoalhaven River and close to the pristine white sands of Jervis Bay, the retreat caters to environmentally conscious individuals, couples, families, and groups seeking to reconnect with nature in a unique and creative space.

Our two self-contained bush cabins at Bamarang Bush Retreat were originally built over 25 years ago from recycled materials. Set back from the road offering privacy for guests, and glimpses of the valley through the towering fig tree and ancient rock formations. The accommodation itself is modest, comfortable and creative. The kitchens are fully equipped with microwave, oven, stovetop, small/fridge freezer. Bamarang Bush Retreat has been in business since the early 2000s. Our bush cabins are perfect for a couple, friends, or family getaways. Made from recycled materials the modest and creative style offers the perfect getaway space. Decent size bathroom and laundry room, with shower, toilet, sink and laundry tub. The outside dining area is perfect for socialising whilst cooking on the BBQ in the evenings. We don't provide bed sheets or bath towels but duvet, duvet covers, pillow, pillowcases are provided. Guests must use a fitted and top sheet on the beds. There is no wifi and very little phone signal, allowing you to, almost, completely switch off from the outside world. Bamarang Bush Retreat has been in business since the early 2000s. Each cabin has a carport attached to the side of the building, and there are two additional parking spots. Bamarang Bush Retreat offers modest and creative accommodation, the surrounding bushland, wildlife and views are what makes it such a special spot. We are without WIFI, tech gadgets and luxurious items - beautifully simple. Sometimes after we have cleaned there may have been a spiderweb spun, a blowfly found its way in or even dust has drifted up from the cars on the road. We do our best to make sure everything is cleaned before arrival, but there are some things we can't control. RISK WARNING Persons who enter Bamarang Bush Retreat do so at their own risk. Activities at Bamarang Bush Retreat are varied and involve a risk of injury. These risks include: • Unfenced waterways • Poisonous snakes & spiders • Dangerous cliffs & rocks • Fires and/or coals • Falling Trees and/or branches and shall make no claim for compensation in relation to any injury arising from these risks This risk warning is provided by and on behalf of both Bamarang Bush Retreat and Jirgens Contracting Pty Ltd.

Main Houses

A collection of three modest double-storey houses made by mud-bricks and reclaimed materials, accommodating up to 20 + people. With open plan living throughout, an eclectic decorative style, interconnected by undercover pathways, courtyard gardens, and verandahs there is plenty of space inside and out. The sprawling undercover deck configured around an outdoor fireplace, lounge space and dining area with two BBQs overlooking the valley. The Main House is modest and comfortable accommodation. Due to COVID restrictions, only 20 people are allowed to stay together in the main house. We don't provide bed sheets or bath towels. All other bedding is included. The collection of three houses were originally built as a family homestead, for 20 + years now it has been operating as a business and accommodating all types of groups; yoga retreats, annual family getaways, groups of friends and weekend escapes. Bamarang is a place of beauty, directly designed within the bush, loud raucous parties are not allowed.

The Round House

Located between the main house and the bush cabins, the roundhouse offers panoramic views of the valley. Made from mudbricks and recycled materials with an eclectic decorative style, fully equipped kitchen, and sleeps up to six people through two king bedrooms and a queen sofa bed in the lounge. The undercover outside dining area also has a BBQ for guests. Bamarang Bush Retreat has been in business since the early 2000s. The Round House is an open living environment, with views from almost every window in the house. There is an eclectic motif of Indigenous Australia, Ned Kelly, and the Middle East throughout the artwork and finishes at the Round House. Bamarang Bush Retreat offers modest and creative accommodation, the surrounding bushland, wildlife, and views are what make it such a special spot. We are without WIFI, high-tech gadgets, reliable phone reception, and luxurious items - beautifully simple. Sometimes, after we have cleaned, there may be a spiderweb or two spun, blowflies have found their way in or even dust has drifted up from the cars on the road.
