Rosebrook River Camp gives you your own private retreat, far away from the crowds but only a few minutes from the beating heart of the Hunter Valley. Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere. You've got direct access to the Hunter River with a sandy beach, great swimming holes and it's perfect for a peaceful kayak up or down stream, dependent on river levels at the time of your stay. Bring your own kayak or use ours for a small fee. For those a bit more adventurous, we take you via road to our drop off point and you paddle downstream (a leisurely 3 hours) until you arrive at the beach near your campsite. There are heaps of places to stop and have some lunch and a swim on the way. The site is a drive through level, grassy area and easily accessed by 2WD vehicle if you're not towing. For caravans and camper trailers, a 4WD is recommended but it's pretty easy going. Pets are welcome, but MUST stay within the site paddock if not on a lead. Our neighbours have stock and it's important we are always respectful toward them. A garbage bin and recycle bin is provided but you will need your own toilet. There is a designated area for a fire (when conditions permit) and we can supply firewood if required for a small fee. We’ve kept things simple and natural because that’s the way we like it. It’s a true bush camp — plenty of space, plenty of privacy, and no fuss. We just ask that everyone who stays treats the place with respect and leaves it as they found it, so the next campers can enjoy it too. Whether you’re here for a quiet weekend, a bit of fishing, or just to switch off from the world for a while, this is the place to do it. River Front Campsites is a picturesque camping area on the eastern edge of the Barrington Tops National Park (Gloucester Tops) and nestled on the banks of the crystal clear Gloucester River. A great spot for families and groups of all ages who love wide open natural spaces. A place to relax and enjoy the amazing mountain scenery, fabulous sunsets and bird life local to the area, along with other wildlife that graze the land. If you want to indulge in the natural wonders of the area, there are numerous walking trails in the nearby Gloucester Tops National Park, swim in the crystal clear water of the Gloucester River. Do some Bird watching. We are an active beef cattle farm. We run approximately 80 head of cattle. You will see our herd of cattle across the paddocks, which includes pregnant cows, younger cows, calves, and Brutus our bull. We will endeavor to run our cattle outside of the paddocks containing the campsites. For this reason, we ONLY allow dogs to stay if they remain on a lead or are well controlled. There are 6 sites to choose from beside the flowing river to set up your campsite, with shady areas, spacious grassy areas for the kids to run around or just relax and enjoy the surroundings. All of our campsites are perfect for having a campfire (fire season dependent). NO rubbish can be burnt in any campfires at all. Each Site will have a fire pit. BYO wood. These are sites only and NO toilet or shower facilities are provided, or freshwater. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN CAMPING TOILET OR ONE IN YOUR CARAVAN/CAMPER. (There are dump points located in Gloucester and Stroud townships, both approximately 40 min away). Access to River Front Campsites is partially by 12kms of gravel council managed road with 6 water crossings. Campsites are easily accessible by 4WD and 2WD vehicles. (Weather conditions permitting) Flood detour road available if needed. There is no rubbish collection on the campsites. You will be required to take all rubbish off the property when you leave. THERE IS NO MOBILE RECEPTION.

Had an amazing 5 nights here. Plenty of room for 3 families, 2 caravans and a large camper trailer. Plenty of room for the kids to play!! Flat grassy area right on the river, plenty of fish jumping but couldn't catch any!!! Very peaceful and relaxing!! Would definitely love to come back here!!

Perfect place to spend the night while in transit. We’ve got a powered site which was fine. it faces the highway so that makes it quiet noisy all night long due to trucks driving downhill. Facilities are perfect.

We stayed in the off grid site area with a rooftop tent and absolutely loved it. Lots of families and kids around, clean communal amenities, playground and pool for the kids, as well as a nice walk to the beach. Definitely coming back again!

The place was tidy, well maintained, and everything was available with high quality. The pool was clean and great. All showers and toilets were all working. We got the access code before arriving there and got there without any issues. Absolutely recommend this place.

Amazing beautiful secluded campsite that is very well maintained. Loved my time here, no shoes to walk around in as it’s like a bowling green, river was stunning especially the full moon on the last night and a beautiful sunrise the next morning. The owner popped down a couple of times to check did I need anything (solo traveller), and give me some home grown sweet potato (yummy), loved our convos on all things farming. My only regret is not booking in longer. Thanks so much, I shall be back.

What a beautiful spot to stay for a few days! Brian is absolute legend - from escorting us onto the property to popping in for a beer/checking in, to showing us the daily cattle milking routine. The fresh milk & honey were delicious! The site felt private & the river was so nice for a daily swim or two! Our dogs loved it as well. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area next.
