Rocklee is on Wiradjuri land, a short drive from Capertee, surrounded by Gardens of Stone and Capertee national parks and the Mugii Murrum-ban State Conservation Area. Rocklee is 2.5 hours from Sydney and Dubbo, and a short drive to swimming at Turon and Coorongooba National Parks, sightseeing at Glen Davis, bird watching near Glen Alice and the terrific cafe ‘From the Paddock’. Access is 4wd only. (We’re serious!) Our road has ‘roll overs’, rocks and a couple of tight turns on large gradients so you need a vehicle with 20cm+ clearance. If you are towing a camper trailer, you need a good 4wd engine to get back up the hill confidently. Each campsite is a VERY long way from other sites - usually about 800m. Rocklee has a mix of no-longer used paddocks and about 950 acres of untouched bush. You will arrive through the conservation area, which has beautiful pagodas and endless bushwalks. Rocklee is a good site for star gazing. Hipcampers can choose from plenty of space where they'd like to set up camp. Please be careful as some paddocks are overgrown, fences have come down and there are lots of wombat holes, so drive slowly and be careful. There are no amenities here, campers need to be self contained and leave no trace. This means you need to bring water, use existing fireplaces and take your rubbish, recycling and compost with you. (You need to bring water from home or elsewhere on the way. Please note you cannot fill up free tap water at Capertee - either at the BP, the picnic area or the pub. It just doesn’t rain enough to fill up the tanks. Sorry!)

Also please note that due the closure of the Great Western Highway there is currently an increase in traffic volume going past our property. Our usually quite nights are not as quiet. The campers I have had since this has happened did not seem to be too impacted by it, but if you are wanting complete quietness then maybe wait until the Highway is re-opened. Our property is located in the Blue Mountains, nestled right in the middle of the national park and all that the Blue Mountains bush has to offer. Gums, ferns, fresh air and swimming holes. I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups. Just a short drive from Sydney (1 ½ hours from Parramatta) but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to. I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost. The property offers a number of sites that can accommodate various group numbers. Please message me if you're interested in booking one or more listings for your special get together. Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly, but no cats please. Also please be aware that we are surrounded by nature and part of nature are the snakes and ticks. - we need to keep this environment for the wildlife. Please take all your belongings and rubbish with you when you leave. Leave it better than as you found it. Please be aware that due to our proximity to the road and rail that at times you will hear some traffic noise. But most times it is very quiet except for the frogs.

The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The camp site is close to two creeks, Blackheath Creek and Little Stoney Creek where the protected Platypus are frequently seen, along with our wombats and kangaroos. Cox’s River is a ten minute drive suitable for swimming and fishing. This is an exclusive private camping area on the beautiful Blackheath Creek. The Wollemi Art Farm is a 100 acre block surround by national park - so your only neighbours are trees and animals. We are only 2 kilometres from the stunning Dunns Swamp. We have several camping areas, which range from intimate to spacious, and can host up to 190 people - if you want to book out the whole place (weddings, parties, small festivals)! Facilities include toilets, water and shelter. It's called 'The Wollemi Art Farm' because not only do we do arty things there (like quests and Shakespeare nights), in time we shall fill the place with mysterious and beautiful works of art - constructed from the rocks and wood of the landscape itself. We have our own trails and views (see below). As mentioned, we run quest adventures (think: clues, a map, exploring, competing against other teams for glory) - get in touch if you would like to know when the next one is, or if you would like your own private quest. I've included some quest material in the photos (more on our Instagram and Youtube). There is an additonal fee for questing. Walks: -Look out for the twin cairns on the north side of the public road, about 100m before you get to the main camping area. Follow the trail to the Summit. -You can also follow the private road up the hill past the main house (turn right off the public road as if you are going to the Spring campsite, then walk past the 'no tresspassing sign' - you are not tresspassing if you are a guest!). Follow this road for a few hundred metres until you see the rocky outcrop towards your right (the 'Souther Heights'). A sign points the way to a cleft that you can ascend. Two cairns mark this spot. Follow the rocky ridge up for several hundred metres. It's a fine adventure. Runs. I'm a keen distance runner. I have a range of runs mapped out. These include a 10km loop, longer runs up to 20kms, various reps, and more. The WAF is perfect for your running group getaway.

Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water). From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries or gin distillery and taste some of the region's delicious produce. Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive (4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veggie picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and Melange restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery. With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin! We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. My site was away from ammenities and dump point, and noticed there were a lot of free camps closer to these points. Camp was quiet and when full, would be very crowded and difficult to manoevure large vehicles into allotted spots. Friendly staff and well maintained from what I could see driving to find the dump point.

We have really enjoyed our two nights stay here. Even though it's a residential area you wouldn't even know. It feels like you're on a peaceful farm but only 8km from Bathurst. Kurt and Megan have been so helpful and very responsive to messages. Megan and her son even came to introduce themselves and say hi which was nice ❤️they also have a handful of goats which the kids loved and we could even feed them our scraps. Highly recommend staying here if you want to explore Bathurst and the surrounds!!!

Kurt and Megan were so hospitable and easy going, giving great local tips and advice for safest routes of travel with our family van! We adored our stay on their ranch and the kids loved the neighbouring goats 🐐❤️ Thanks again guys.

What a great little flat spot to park up just out of Bathurst. We felt super safe here after reading reviews of other places in town. Kurt met us as we drove in and was really helpful. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Raglan Ranch

What a great spot to have as a base while exploring the Bathurst area!! This really is everything we look for when travelling when all you need is a safe location to leave the van while you go adventuring and seeing the local sites. Access to site is easy and the sites are level and maintained nicely. Definitely will be back when we are in the area for the numerous events Bathurst has on throughout the year. Well done!!!!
