A 150-acre working farm with a stunning outlook over the saltwater Maria River (with a rustic boat ramp and waterway running into the Hastings River). Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, and local strawberry and tomato picking. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. During NSW School Holidays, host led animal interactions will be available at designated times. Friendly pets welcome.

Port Macquarie's hidden gem! This is a large flat grassy campsite with a stunning outlook over the saltwater Maria River, which runs into Port Macquarie's main Hastings River. This site can accommodate any type of set up (e.g. tent to motorhome). Whilst a large site, please utilize sites 8, 9 and 10 for group bookings (which are even bigger; If they booked out you may be able to fit smaller groups on this site but please contact us to check the size of your group and set ups first before booking this site). Friendly pets welcome. All campsites are set back from the river, but you are welcome to set up an additional retreat by the bank or under the shady trees for the duration of your stay (e.g. separate gazebo and/or enclosed fire pit). There is also plenty of space to tie your boat up in the river adjacent to your campsite, but please use designated trails down the bank to preserve it. Car driving access to site is very good with gravel road access. During your farm stay, pat, feed and cuddle many of the working farm animals including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, mini horses, cows, guinea pigs, rabbits, and cats (there is always a newborn of some kind!). Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. Port Macquarie's hidden gem! Site 10 is a super large, flat grassy campsite with a stunning outlook over the saltwater Maria River, which runs into Port Macquarie's main Hastings River. It's the last site along the river (meaning that you will not have camp neighbors on the south side), and the furthest site from our amenities. There is plenty of room to spread out with room for multiple set ups, great for large family and friend groups. Friendly pets welcome. All campsites are set back from the river, but you are welcome to set up an additional retreat by the bank or under the shady trees for the duration of your stay (e.g. separate gazebo and/or enclosed fire pit). There is also plenty of space to tie your boat up in the river adjacent to your campsite, but please use designated trails down the bank to preserve it. Car driving access is very good with gravel road access to sites. It is great for small to medium set ups such as swags or tents (not suitable for caravans). Friendly pets welcome. Absolutely beautiful place, the kids had an absolute ball on the canoes and with all the animals. Will definitely be back again we camp a lot and this is our family’s favourite place so far. Susan and Bernard are such lovely hosts. I felt so safe with our young kids here. Usually I worry about them on campsites but it was so nice to relax and have them just enjoy this special place.

Excellent campsite right on the river, and great amenities (hot showers and clean toilets, kayaks, petting/baby animal farm + larger farm animals), very helpful and friendly hosts. Massive campsites suitable for 2-3 groups. Two gorgeous and very friendly farm border collies. Great fishing from the riverbank or in the kayaks. Short drive into Port Macquarie if needed. We'll definitely be back.

Nice views on the river and surrounding farm, our camping spot had plenty of space. The amenities were functional and cleaned daily. Susan and Bernard are discreet, friendly and arranging.

Susan was a fantastic host, we had a great time petting the baby animals and hearing all about the working farm. The campsites were big and offered a stunning view of the river!! We will definitely be back
