It is a stone's throw from the neighbouring cellar door, and visitors are encouraged to participate in seasonal activities, and sample and enjoy the local produce. It is near Stirling Range National Park and Porongurup National Park and Skywalk, with unique flora and fauna, mountain climbing, and walking experiences. Plus just as close to the coast, but far from the crowds. Choose relaxation or adventure. There are several sites to choose from, some with access to the toilet facilities and others where you will need to be completely self-contained. Please refer to the site descriptions for more details. We can welcome a small/medium breed dog per booking, however, they must never be left unattended and we ask that you please be responsible for picking up dog waste. Campfires are permitted during the months of May- September subject to conditions/local fire restrictions.

The sunsets from the campsite over the Porongurup Ranges are a great way to finish each day at Rocky's Retreat. Meet our friendly resident sheep - pellets available to feed them, and they love pats! We only accept one booking at a time to allow our guests privacy and plenty of space. Well-behaved, socialised, on-lead pets are welcome too. We are located approx. 40km from Mt Barker, 50km from Albany, 15km to Porongurup National Park and 45km to Stirling Range National Park. Within a short drive you can find incredible local wineries, cafes and restaurants. The property makes a great base camp for day trips to Denmark, Albany, Mt Barker, Stirling Ranges and the Porongurup Ranges. If you are wanting to cool off at the campsite, a swimming spot on the upper Kalgan River is 800 metres down the road. Please note - we have recently undertaken significant native revegetation around the camp site, planting approx. 6,000 native seedlings for native flora and fauna habitat. Therefore, the site looks different to some of the previous photos showing open paddocks. Please refer to the photo in our listing taken in Summer that shows the native revegatation with tree guards around each seedling. Campers must be self-contained, with their own in-built camp toilet, and leave no trace. Dump points are available in Mt Barker and Albany. Telstra works in most areas. We don't take bookings for tents/swags by themselves at this stage. We look forward to welcoming you to stay at Rocky's Retreat. The property is new for camping and we are always looking to improving our offering, so we would love your feedback. Our 125 Acre property backs onto the Porongurup National park in the great southern region of Western Australia. The cottages have views to the western end of the Ranges. The cottages are located roughly 500 meters off from the road giving guests peace and quiet. All the Porongurup range walks are within 10 mins drive, The stunning and most famous sterling Ranges (Bluff Knoll) is a short 45 min drive, as are the coastal towns of Albany and Denmark. We have many awarded wineries on our doorstep and there are also some wonderfull places to have lunch and or Dinner (Limited opening days)

Excellent week at the park, stayed off with gale force winds but the camp staff were very good and allowed us to move to a more sheltered site. Good for kayak lunching and a base for sightseeing and coastal walks.

Weekend Trip to Rocky's Retreat Bushcamp
This quiet campsite near the Stirling Ranges and Porongurups was the perfect base for a few days of hiking. Surrounded by nature, it was peaceful and well-maintained. The campfire setup was a highlight—complete with firewood provided, making it easy to relax under the stars after a big day on the trails. A lovely little spot I’d definitely return to!

An amazing site. Morning view was glorious straight out over the water. While we didn’t catch anything being able to just throw a line in was a highlight. Amenities were neat and clean and always well stocked. Everyone camping was respectful and the ladies in the office were very helpful.

We loved our stay at this picturesque working vineyard. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The wines are delicious. Camping sites are level and spacious, all with spectacular views of the vines and mountains in the distance. Amenities were immaculate. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Monduran Escape.

Panorama is a great campground but be sure to secure your site specifically so you can see the water. Also appreciate this is a park with a lot of long term residents and is not an RAC or Discovery campground with fancy facilities. The two communal ensuite bathrooms are great with toilet sink and shower. Good size for parents with a few kids to clean. The win is the view and the pelican residents on the jetty are super fun to watch all day. Get up for sunrise as it is stunning.

Lovely spot secluded away from hustle and bustle of Albany. Lovely green pastured paddock. Our campsite was near a clump of trees and a small dam frequented by many a water bird. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful when I had to make some repairs to caravan.
