Blackwood Ridge Nature Park is situated on the Roebank property and as party of the first settlement in this area, both Roebank and the neighbouring Peninsula House have historical significance in Bridgetown. The Roebank Cottage was built in 1890 by the grand-daughter of John Septimus Roe who was a famous civil engineer contributing to the original town planning of Perth City and Roebourne. In the early days, Roebank was used for livestock grazing and had the largest shearing shed this side of Bridgetown used by the neighbouring farmers. Over the years the property has been used as a pear orchard, goat farm and other small farming activities. Trigwell is a small rural location 256 km from Perth. We have a lovely peaceful working farm of 500 acres to explore with undulating hills with horses, cattle, sheep, and plenty of wildlife. There is a good chance of them joining you too! Out here is a star gazers paradise. Boyup Brook is just down the road ( approx 30km) with a sporting club, cafe, pool, museum, great little shops, pub and a local IGA. Bridgetown and Collie approx 50 minutes . There is Trigwell Reserve and Haddleston Springs on our doorstep, as so is the Blackwood River and the Blackwood River Valley. Lake Towerrinning 20km away, so many walk trails , swims and things to explore. Harvey Dickson rodeo and the Boyup Brook country music festival is a great drawcard every year. We offer two options to enjoy this beautiful place: A camping area, and a cottage. Plenty of room to set up camp in the camping area of the property, so choose when you get here. Sit around a campfire (restrictions for fire season, of course) watch a gorgeous sunset, and enjoy a BBQ with a drink in hand. No toilet for campers, so you'll need to be self-sufficient with your own camp toilet and take all waste with you when you leave. The cottage is cute and rustic, and has everything you need for a comfortable farm stay. The Blackwood River is also very close to our place, and Lake Towerrinning is an amazing place to swim , paddle or ski ( approx 20km )At Trigwell Bridge you have access to the riverside which is great for canoeing through to Boyup Brook. Dogs are welcome (campsite only, possibly cottage on request) but please keep them on leash at all times. Firewood can be collected on property for free. Otherwise we can bring to sites for a fee. Please note there is approximately 25kms of gravel road . If you come in Boyup Brook way thru to Dinninup , there's only a couple of km. The dam is unsuitable to swim in at present due to the drought. Hope you love our place as much as we do!

The grassed camping area is suitable for caravans and campervans up to approximately 11 metres, with straightforward access and comfortable setup space. Native wildlife, including kangaroos and emus, are often seen wandering through the property. The property was originally established as a permaculture project and still features a diverse mix of fruit and nut trees, including avocados, olives and a small grove of truffle oaks near the campground. Guests have shared access to: • A designated campfire area when conditions allow • Communal gas BBQ and meal preparation area • Large undercover shelter • Open grassed space for relaxing after a day exploring This is a self-contained vehicle campground. Guests must bring their own toilet, drinking water and waste storage. The campground occupies approximately two acres on the upper section of the property within a clearly defined guest area. The remainder of the property is private, and guests are asked to stay within the designated campground boundary. We live separately on the property, around 250 metres away, and are available if needed while still giving guests their privacy. Strict quiet hours apply from 9:30 pm. Amazing spot to relax, so quiet and especially with no road noise or industry near. Perfect if you have a reactive dog, our Blue Heeler was the most relaxed we have ever seen her so made our holiday stress free and relaxing too. Would be great for family groups too. Close enough to Pemberton etc to explore the area. Signal kicked in enough for txts sometimes but our Starlink was ideal. Hosts are lovely and check in was super easy. We will be back.

What an incredible stay we had here! Matt went above and beyond, even moving a swing set on our site for the kids. The fire pit was set up on arrival, even with kindling. The discovery track was a favourite for our morning bike rides and the sunrises were amazing! It’s so close to the attractions and a highlight of the trip. Highly recommend visiting this beautiful Hipcamp.

2 nights at Peaceful, rural Karri Forest Basecamp near Pemberton

Highly recommend! Great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. Organised my Bib drop offs too. Great campsite with beautiful driveway through the trees to the property, easy access with large caravan. Plenty of space to park up and very peaceful. Spotted kangaroos and enjoyed listening to the birds. Thanks for having me!

4 nights at Blackwood River Estate

Absolutely fantastic stay! We (2xAdults & 2xChildren) stayed 4 nights in a tent on site 5. Lovely property with various birds and wildlife. Kids enjoyed watching the sheep graze in the field opposite. Plenty of firewood to collect in the areas surrounding campsites. When there are no clouds the star gazing is amazing! Sites were a little closer than we thought they would be, but we didn't hear anyone else. I feel for the bloke on site 4 though having to listen to our two kids despite our best efforts. We had wind and rain everyday, but the trees keep you pretty sheltered from the worst of the wind.

Beautiful and peaceful site. Good location within stunning panoramic views of idyllic farmland scenes with undulating valleys. Having a flock of sheep with their spring lambs grazing alongside the site was a special touch. The sites were a fair distance away given a real sense of getting away from the clutter of city life.
