Light and noise pollution free for open star gazing and serene sunrise/sunset views. 2 Dams available to swim most of the year round. The closest has easy gravel access to the water, a kayak or SUP waiting for use. A longer walk with an incline into a clay based Dam is another option. During winter a creek runs through the south of the property. We have grazing sheep with multiple paddocks. 1 Alpaca, Oscar, keeping guard. During lambing season you may get a chance to see them up close. Eggs may be available to purchase, depending on demand from our chicken Coop. 35 acres vineyard with Varieties of white and red. There are many unofficial paths to wander on the property, the driveway itself is great for a leg workout. Most places around the farm will have spaces accessible to walk, you may just need to 'pick a path' depending on the rotation of mowing and the level of wetness during rainy seasons. There may be snakes present. We have personally only seen 1 tiger snake in the 3 years of being here and it wasn't in a place for easy walking. Just be mindful At the moment we are offering only sites for fully self contained set ups. Our infrastructure is slowly expanding and we hope to offer more amenities in the future. Feedback and ideas from seasoned caravaners would be appreciated for the long term vision. The property is well situated for mid south west exploration 15km South of Bridgetown 25km North of Manjimup 45min to Pemberton and Nannup 1.5hrs to Kojonup through the back forrest 1.45 to Karridale and Margs An easy 2.5hr drive to Albany on the scenic Muir Hwy. While the property itself has a farming foundation, with the addition of orchards and vegetable gardens on the horizon, we are a holistically minded outfit. Deepdene Farmstay is a beautiful rural property with a fabulous view! We have a number of unpowered camp sites located approximately 5 minutes drive from Augusta, which offers a number of tourist attractions and great fishing spots. We are also located a short 800m from Jewel Cave, which is a very popular tourist attraction and café. Our campsites overlook paddocks of cows and horses, with a lovely breeze and a number of large trees to offer shade in the summer, while being protected from the harsh winds in winter. If you are pretty much self contained and would like to camp out away from the hustle and bustle, in a tranquil and peaceful setting...then this is for you. However, if you like life's luxuries, then this won't be your cup of tea. One of the reviews said nice but a bit wild, I think they must be used to caravan parks or something. We try our best to fit in with the environment, so we have a couple of compost toilets and solar showers (for private not public use, for more info on this, please enquire ) and compost and recycling bins to try and do our bit. Dogs are permitted but this is a working farm with livestock so uncontrolled dogs chasing wildlife or stock which cant be controlled will be dealt with as needed including euthanised. If its hard to control don't bring it please!

We are perfectly positioned to see our beautiful region and our wines.😁 Just over two years ago we stumbled upon this gorgeous property and turned it into a boutique, biodynamic winery and farm. Our vines however were already established and some of the first planted in the area in 1978. Since buying the farm we have introduced olives, a small citrus orchard and numerous fruit trees. The farm is a working farm and well.. a massive work in progress. Our passion is the land, the environment, making good wine, listening to music, eating good food and sharing all of this with our community. We are opening up our farm to share with like minded souls who share the same passions as us (our community). Over the years we have started to learn about the secret spots on our property. The ones which are secluded, capture beautiful pieces of light at certain times of the day, where the black cockatoos love to rest on the branches of the gum trees, the areas where weeping peppermints create a haven and the frequencies and syncronities of the frogs elevate at certain times of the year and times of the day are so loud that you cant hear yourself think. As a result we have a number of beautiful secluded spots on our property we would love to share. As we are small and have no facilities and we can only accept a small number who are fully self contained. (Please see NOTES below) Our region 'Margaret River' is famous for WINE but there are so many other things that make this place special. A wild but beautiful coastline uninhibited by people, karri forest, caves, mountain bike trails and a 120km coastal walk. We are also known for surfing and close by are a number of world famous breaks including Surfers Point which is located 20 minutes from the farm. Closer to the farm you can enjoy a short walk to a beautiful winery called SI Vintners, drive to The Berry Farm or the quirky town of Witchcliffe. At Witchcliffe you will find Darnell's General Store which has a beautiful giftshop (The Shed), cellar door (Amato Vino), coffee shop (Witchy Brews) and fantastic pub (Dear Darnells) and vintage stores which it has become reknown for. We are small and exclusive so if you can't arrive before DARK please do not book if you cant get to our location during the checkin window 3 to 6 PM The lavender farm shop and cafe is open Friday to Sundays in term and Thursday to Monday during school holidays (closed February and March) but campers can purchase lavender products on request and order takeaway from the menu Camp fires in season (Usually May to September) and weather permitting. We supply fallen logs for the communal fire pit please do not bring your own but fires only at night and not in the morning please! If you have your own firepit or want one you need to purchase a bag of wood. All campsites are leveled and drive through, we accept RV's, caravans, rooftops, camper trailers. But all must be 100% self sufficient. Dogs are welcome but must stay on a lead at ALL times as it is a working farm winery/vineyard. Kangaroos and other wildlife are resident to this area and will pass through on occasion. You must bring your own camping toilet and be COMPLETELY 100% self sufficient including your own water. We are Nature Base with a Leave No Trace Policy, we ask that you please take all your waste with you. Strictly No Pre Booking tours of the campsites allowed, a good description and photos are online. All campers are to be booked in prior to arriving at the farm. No entry for extra campers on day of arrival if not booked in as they will not be permitted to enter the property. Strictly no day visitors allowed. Campfires permitted when local government restrictions aren't in place.

What a perfect place! Views, peace, nature all in one package. Great to have a visit and fresh garden produce from our host and daughter. After dark was lovely with the fairy garden and tree lights. The Nature walk was delightful and not long. Well set up with little added touches of quoits, board games, books etc. Only ones there so lots of space. Only downside were the ants that came to visit. Thank you Matt!! Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Matt and his children have clearly put so much care into the property — the nature trail they’ve created is fantastic, with informative little placards all the way along. WOW what an amazing property , Matt and his family are so warm , welcoming and fantastic hosts, the grounds to the property are superb and meticulously kept , so beautiful, scenic and well thought out , the serenity is amazing and the abundance of bird and fauna life is exceptional. The attention to detail and facilities for kids ( play ground equipment and games) , down to the nature walk around the edge of the front of the property with its plaques of information on the plant and animal life that frequent the property is a nice touch. The established Karri trees as tall as tall can be are exceptional. I would love to keep this place a secret but can't , I would highly recommend you visit Hideaway Highway its an absolute gem and my husband and I will be visiting again and again.

Great spot to spend a few days with ample room between each site on the property. Matt and family are fantastic hosts and we were surprised with a welcome gift of some lovely organic produce. Grounds are very well maintained with improvements ongoing, much more than just a spot in a paddock and would stay again if in the area.

This is our second stay at Highway Hideaway and won't be our last. The property is always beautiful (so much nature and amazing tall trees) and very well maintained. Matt is such a great host, always making sure we're having the best possible stay. We had an amazing stay at Jarvis Estate Winery. The campsite sits right beside the vineyard, and waking up to rows of vines and soft morning light was honestly stunning. Our dogs absolutely loved it too – plenty of space to wander, sniff and explore, and the relaxed, open setting made it really easy to enjoy the weekend with them. We camped with friends, and the grassy sites were perfect for setting up our camper and outdoor area. There was loads of room, a really peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful trees offering shade. It never felt crowded, even with other campers around. The location is fantastic. We spent time in the Boranup Forest, and it was absolutely magical – towering karri trees, quiet trails, and that deep forest stillness you can’t help but soak in. Back at the winery, the wines were incredible. The staff were genuinely warm, friendly, and welcoming, creating such a relaxed experience. Tastings felt personal rather than rushed, and it was lovely enjoying a glass right where the grapes are grown. Overall, this spot is the perfect mix of nature, good wine, and easy, peaceful camping. Our friends loved it, our dogs loved it, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended.
