Close but rural, perfect to chill.
32 ft pop-up camper · With kids · We had an absolute ball tenting (fully self sufficient) it here for 10nights.
Both Ange and Rod are extremely friendly, approachable, responsible, considerate and great with kids. Their dog Smokey, also a highlight for our kids. I loved that they kept him on leash until they checked how we all interacted (adults, kids and dogs), we had a dog in our group.
We camped beside one of the trees which gave us fantastic shade all afternoon so the kids could play and we could sit.
The longer grass around the dam, was a great visual barrier for the kids, even the 2yr in our group didn’t attempt to swim, though we supervised the kids always.
So close to everything, but has a rural feel.
We didn’t fossick, but saw lots of people enjoying it. The walking track nearby was great.
We enjoyed watching the Rattler Train pass by, we had two views of it from our site.
We did take our kayaks out for adventures, down the Mary river from the nearby Bridge Street, and also out to Kandanga.
Was a perfect place for us adults to be able to sit and chill while watching the kids run and play freely.
We are already planning a return.
