Sweet River Farm is located by the Kalang River at Kalang (Bellingen). Gumbaynggirr country. The river is the highlight of our property with crystal clear waterholes. Take cold water plunges and borrow our kayaks or canoe and bird watch as you paddle. Azure Kingfishers, Regent Bowerbirds and Lyrebirds also, Platypus, Koalas and Wallaby's. 12 minutes from the small bustling town of Bellingen, we are far enough out of town to experience amazing flora and fauna but close enough to go for a fancy meal, a cafe lunch or market. 25 minutes to beautiful beaches at Urunga and Hungry Head. You are welcome to have a campfire. (except when total fire ban) Hike the forest adjoining us or relax in a hammock. Kids welcome. Ask and i can put a a camp bed on the floor. Sorry , no pets.

River studio is situated a short (2 min ) walk to the beautiful Kalang River. The River Studio is a single room with adjoining bathroom. It is located next to the main house, separated by a water tank and garage. You may see us in the garden but your area at the rear of the studio is completely private. Here you can have a cuppa or make a campfire. There is a stockpile of fire wood for you to use and many sticks around for kindling, we will have a pile ready. There is no designated kitchen. We provide a small fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee plunger and cups , plates etc. and a small table and chairs . You are welcome to set up your camp stove cooker or use the fire. There is a lovely bathroom (toilet and shower) separated from the bedroom by an undercover breezeway. Please use the biodegradable soap provided and refrain from using products that are not eco friendly (including fragrances and body products) , especially in the river. No wifi to the studio (yet) but there are several places around the property where you can get a signal. The studio has a very comfortable Queen bed and nice linen. I can put a camp bed on the floor if you have a child.

Sweet River Yurt is a beautiful private space deep in nature but close enough to the bustling country town of Bellingen for a romantic meal or an easy breakfast. It is situated a few minutes walk down to the pristine Kalang River. Here you can swim , paddle (use our kayaks) and bird watch to your hearts delight. The yurt sits on a covered deck overlooking the fire pit and forest. There is a separate little kitchen and composting loo a few meters away. All very clean and tidy. The kitchen has a little gas oven , sink, fridge, tea, stove top coffee maker and local coffee. Theres lots of wood for the fire pit. The outdoor shower with a beautiful view is the perfect way to start the day . Theres plenty of wildlife; wallaby's, goannas, koalas, Wompoo Fruit Doves, Sacred Kingfisher, Regent Bower birds. Older kids are welcome and could put up a tent near the yurt. A smaller child could fit in the yurt. I have a blow up camp bed. My only concern is the river , they must be supervised at all times. But lets talk about it. Theres also a studio on the property for your friends. My house is about 80m away through the trees, occasionally you may see us at the river.

Magical Bush Get-Away

My friend and I stayed in the Yurt, which was amazing to fall asleep looking at the intricate hand-painted interior. The bed and furnishing were also incredibly comfortable and stylish. The amenities on the site were really well thought out, and it was so nice to be 'off-grid' but be able to easily cook, shower, etc. We spent our days reading on the deck, swimming in the gorgeous river that runs through the property, kayaking and playing with Jess's dog Zoe who would run and swim along the river bank, following us on our little paddles (highlight). At night we made fire's which Jess had already, kindly provided wood and kindling for. Town is only a 15min drive, with great butchers and grocers for necessities, plus cute cafes and stores to waddle around and browse. We had THE best time- Jess is such a gorgeous and generous host and her property is really special!!
