Stretching south of Adelaide, the Fleurieu Peninsula has beachfront walking trails, surf breaks, and quiet camping spots within a 1.5-hour drive of Adelaide. Sip Shiraz in the McLaren Vale wine region; head to the beach towns of Southport, Boomer Beach, and Waitpinga; or drive over to Kangaroo Island to spot wild kangaroos, koalas, fur seals, and little penguins.

Lush vines, stone villages, and some 150 wineries make the Barossa Valley one of Australia’s best wine regions. The Scrub Campsite located in remnant vegetation (14 minutes from Victor Harbor ) is a rustic self check in campsite as the owners do not reside near the campsite. All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. Our property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer Ranges and is on the Bremer River in Rockleigh. This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area. We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums- surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags. The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully. We are 45 minute drive from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region. We are only 30 minutes drive from Monarto Conservation Park which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals. We have 2 toilets available but please BYO toilet paper. Sorry, no pets. Please note that Pymbroke is in the Murraylands zone & fire danger season starts early. 1st November 2025.

Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area. We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums- surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags. The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully. We are 45 minute drive from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region. We are only 30 minutes drive from Monarto Conservation Park which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals. We have 2 toilets available but please BYO toilet paper. Sorry, no pets. We absolutely loved camping at Warren’s Cherry Farm! We had such a gorgeous private spot, enjoy a fire and relaxed. Even though it rained and was very wet we still loved every minute of it. The kids loved it the most, they were so happy and had so much room to play. Warren was so welcoming and helpful, and his family are lovely. Weekend Trip to Jacob’s Creek Farm, Krondorf
Super peaceful and a great setting. Linda sent a lot of really handy info and tips - unfortunately time was against us on the first day, and the weather was against us on the second. But that didn’t detract from this fantastic spot. There are two flat, open sites. We chose the first because the fire pit was further away from the grass, and the olive grove provided a bit more shelter. The site is super tranquil… the only sounds were those of all the birds (and a rather vocal koala), yet it’s just a few minutes easy drive from Tanunda and even walking distance from some wineries. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of Linda’s local food and wine recommendations.

Weekend Trip to Noorla Farm (Happy Camping Ground)
We had amazing experiences here on Sam and Chris' Noorla Farm : ) This was my first ever camp with my 2 boys and we were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Sam and Chris gave us the right advice and support to get us going as well as a lovely gift of eggs, homemade biscuits and sweets. We stayed at the Laneway and it was beautiful scenery and there was ever present nature including many species of bird calls that we awoke to in the morning, as well as the possums we spotted over night. There was also a kookaburra only a few meters from the tent, waiting in the morning. Sam and Chris very kindly helped us to pack up our new tent that we were struggling with. Quite unbelievable and unexpected. We were so lucky. And to totally cap it off we were treated to meeting all their animals, and my teenage boys got to gain many new experiences from patting camels to holding guinea pigs and collecting eggs. Chris had a great sense of humour when showing us around and was really present and giving of his time. Thank you so much Sam and Chris. We look forward to coming back again!

Cute little getaway not far from Adelaide had a Ecco toilet and shower if you need 10 sites to choose from games to play wooden go carts swings fire pits at each site undercover communal are with 2 large bbq’s couch and table and chairs scattered around it’s has plenty of nature to see ducks on the dam bunnies and kangaroos hopping around cute little blue birds galas and white cockatoos true nature fix so close to home but you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere I highly recommend

We had an amazing time at Noorla Farm. Sam was incredibly kind to let us know that our original spot might be unsafe after the heavy rain, so we opted for the Laneway spot instead. We loved being so close to the farm animals, especially the horses. Sam and his wife even showed us around and let us feed them, which was definitely the highlight of our stay. We can definitely feel the love and care they have for their babies. Thank you for the wonderful memories, we’ll definitely be back

We loved camping at God’s Hill. A quick 50min trip from the city to a beautiful location. The stunning vista over vines and rolling hills made the most relaxing stay. A nice walk into to town for a brewery stop and a quick drive to Tanunda for a browse of the shops. The best part was being able to walk up to the restaurant for delicious wood oven pizzas, antipasto and beautiful wines. Charlie and co hosted us wonderfully. Highly recommend for self sufficient campers. We booked the Wally site and toilet is about 150mtr from camp spot, behind the restaurant. The site is maintained beautifully. We had it to ourselves with friends which made it wonderful. Thank you Charlie and co for opening up your beautiful site and looking after us. Such a relaxing weekend away.

Cheryl 0421 521 733This 20 acre working property is dedicated to our horses, dogs, birds and relaxing!You are welcome to wander into the big paddock to access the walking trails and continue on to explore the scrub area where many native birds come and go including kookaburras.The line of trees planted in the gully area are dedicated koala forage trees so also wander down there and have a look and see if you can spot one.Your relaxed property walk will take you past paddocked sheep (they may run up to you if they think you have something for them to eat. Cut apples or carrots into pieces for them ) Rams and Whethers are together in their own paddock, alpacas and Bobby are in with the Ewes and any lambs at the time protecting them from predators in another paddock.There are horses, Dallas the mule (please do not enter their paddocks) , wild ducks at the dam, as well as our ducks and geese if they are out of their enclosure that day. There are raceways between all paddocks to continue your walk all around the property. Beware of the electric fencing though, it hurts if you touch it!We also have some very friendly chooks and turkeys that LOVE to say hello and be hand fed chopped up pieces of apple, carrot, grapes and especially watermelon! Feel free to give them any food scraps you might have. We also have a family of magpies will enjoy any meat scraps you leave for them too.Dallas, our mule is always up for a bit of attention and any apples or carrots you might like to share with him.Dallas is rather special as his dad is a "mammoth donkey" who has been imported from America. His mum is a stunning thoroughbred. Mammoth donkeys are a bigger/taller breed of donkey than Australian donkeys are. They are beginning to be used up north on stations instead of horses as mules are sturdier, more sure footed, not as flighty as horses so safer for stock men and women to use working with cattle. They can live into their late 30,s so have a longer working life as well. Dallas was born in 2023Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are on the right hand side as you drive in via the automatic opening gate which you will be given access to once we have added your mobile number to the system after you have booked. We are currently planting more native shrubs and trees in this area to encourage even more bird life plus provide future windbreaks and further divide sites. From this area you will see the most spectacular sunsets and be able to have an open campfire during winter season.The Dam It site, Tree line site and Solar paddock site are through another gate on the left hand side opposite site 3/ the paddock with the solar panels in it before you reach our residence, aviaries and toilet.It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails.Besides sitting back relaxing reading a book with a nice local wine in your hand there are other nearby options to fill your days while staying on our property.Take a short drive down Goldsfield Rd to the Mining Museum and hiking trails. A few KM's towards Williamstown stop in and see the Whispering Wall, built between 1899 and 1903, for its time of construction the dam was deemed a revolutionary engineering marvel. Sounds and voices, even a whisper can be clearly heard at the other end of the dam more then 100 meters away.Continue on through Williamstown and hire a kayak and explore the Warren Reservoir with the resident pelicans. The Warren reservoir was built on the South Para River between 1914 and 1916. Mt Crawford forest is then another short drive on where you can hike, ride and picnic and be guaranteed to see kangaroos in their natural habitat.We are also ideally located being at the gateway to numerous wineries, take your e-bike and explore the towns in the Barossa Valley which are linked with rose lined bitumen trails, explore the shops, cafes and enjoy delectable food, stop in at the Lavender Farm, treat yourself to a scenic flights with Barossa Helicopters or challenge yourself at Barossa Bowland and fantastic themed Dinosaur mini golf just to name even more options!Less than 10 minute drive from our front gate will have you at the lovely town of Lyndoch where the local IGA is a handy stop for those emergency essentials as well as the local bakery, craft shop, pub, post office, Lord of Lyndoch restaurant, Table Cafe Kies winery for starters. 10 Minures the other direction will see you at a new suburb Springwood which has a variety of shops and a Chemist, couple minutes further will have you at the lovely town of Gawler. The visitor center here is also home to local artists to exhibit their works.Like to kayak? Well a short drive will take you to spectacular opportunities to do so. Hire is also available at the site at different times of the year.Love exploring by bike? You are at the heartland of multiple trails you can access too. The main residence is over the hill on the opposite side of the property, ensuring privacy. Only one site is offered per night to maintain peace and serenity (if you’re traveling with others, enquire about multiple sites at a discounted rate). There is no toilet or shower block — public toilets are a 10-minute drive away if you don’t have your own setup. No potable water is available. As this is a working farm, dogs are welcome but must remain on a long lead. No motorbikes, please. Conveniently located just 10 minutes from Mount Pleasant (home of the Mount Pleasant Farmers’ Market) and 10 minutes from Springton (home of the historic Herbig Family Tree), Humble Farm is an ideal base for exploring. Spend an afternoon in the cafés of Lobethal or Woodside, sample the best of the Barossa high country at its many cellar doors, or venture to the Riverland — all within a 25-minute drive. The property is a private farm with 2 dams and views extending across the valley. There are a number of suitable locations to for bush camping. Site access is limited to dry weather and vehicles with single axle camper trailer or tent. Vehicles with higher ground clearance are more suitable. The River Upstream is the flattest of the campgrounds if you require a completely level site for your vehicle. A number of alpacas and sheep share the camp grounds. Sites suit bush camping with limited amenities. Potable water is available upon request but there are no toilets or services on site. There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent food and produce you can enjoy. Close to: Hahndorf - 5 min drive Stirling - 10 min drive Mount Lofty - 15 min drive Tour Down under (TDU) - passes at the end of the road several wineries Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and water and take all rubbish with them upon departure.
