We are about 30 minutes away from Joe Pool Lake, Six Flags, the Texas Rangers Ballpark, and Scarborough Renaissance Festival. Our land is private land that has been in the family for many decades. Property is on the farm where I grew up about 9 miles northeast of Glen Rose off of Highway 67. It has various trees on property with cedar, live oak, post oak, etc. Campsites are in front of a wide waterfall which is about 5 feet in height. You can fall asleep with the sound of the waterfalls! We have three ground tent sites and two 14 by 14 deck sites if you want to be up off the ground. Each site has a fire ring and electricity. There are well-marked trails across the creek which go to a meadow and a big treehouse I built several years ago. Glen Rose has several restaurants known for barbecue and Mexican food. Granbury is 25 minutes away with lots of shopping and restaurants around their historic town square. Glen Rose also has a town square.

In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. Sundancer On The Brazos sits on Comanche Creek in an isolated forest on a 350 acre working cattle ranch with a quarter mile of river frontage! The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Comanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller's Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood, they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!) Weatherford is only 10 minutes away and Granbury is only 20 minutes away; both have great restaurants. And this close to Fort Worth (30min), you could actually commute and have a ranch to come home to at night--note the lower pricing mid week.

It has various trees on property with cedar, live oak, post oak, etc. Campsites are in front of a wide waterfall which is about 5 feet in height. You can fall asleep with the sound of the waterfalls! We have three ground tent sites and two 14 by 14 deck sites if you want to be up off the ground. Each site has a fire ring and electricity. There are well-marked trails across the creek which go to a meadow and a big treehouse I built several years ago. Glen Rose has several restaurants known for barbecue and Mexican food. Granbury is 25 minutes away with lots of shopping and restaurants around their historic town square. Glen Rose also has a town square.

Sundancer On The Brazos sits on Comanche Creek in an isolated forest on a 350 acre working cattle ranch with a quarter mile of river frontage! The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Comanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller's Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood, they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!) Weatherford is only 10 minutes away and Granbury is only 20 minutes away; both have great restaurants. And this close to Fort Worth (30min), you could actually commute and have a ranch to come home to at night--note the lower pricing mid week.

Fieldsong Farm was the perfect spot to introduce our two children (both under 4yo) to the camping experience! The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the perfect place to slow down and enjoy time together. We loved how easy it was to set up and feel right at home — the open field, surrounding trees, and cozy atmosphere made it feel like the perfect little getaway even though it was only 10minutes from our house! The hosts were kind and welcoming, and everything was just as described. Our kids loved getting to meet the goats, dogs, and cats the next morning while getting a garden tour from Richard too. It was the ideal mix of nature, comfort, and simplicity. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Fieldsong Farm to any family looking for a special camping experience.

Easy Like a Sunday Morning is nestled just outside the city limits of Granbury, Texas (approximately 3 miles from Granbury Historic square) @ a private residence just outside the city limits. New laundry facility down the road, dump station @ Thorp Springs RV park (20 dollars), Davids Grocery store and Dollar General, all only .03 miles away. This is not really a vacation destination but more a safe place to stay coming to town to explore all Granbury has to offer or a place to catch your breathe while traveling on the road. Friends have enjoyed escaping here for years. I decided to share the zen. It's a bit rough around the edges but if the new venture succeeds it will only get better each time you visit. Patio with a view of Lake Granbury and surrounding valley of at least 3 counties. Communal: Bonfire area when there isn't a burn ban (bring your chair). Also small fire pit on patio. Sundancer On The Brazos sits on Comanche Creek in an isolated forest on a 350 acre working cattle ranch with a quarter mile of river frontage! The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Comanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller's Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood, they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!) Weatherford is only 10 minutes away and Granbury is only 20 minutes away; both have great restaurants. And this close to Fort Worth (30min), you could actually commute and have a ranch to come home to at night--note the lower pricing mid week.
