The host was friendly, easy to communicate with, and helpful in guiding me to my spot, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, I ended up leaving earlier than planned because the site I was given didn’t feel ideal for tent camping. The ground was very dry and hard, making it difficult to set up comfortably. I was offered an alternate spot, which I appreciated, but it was closer to the road and had more noise, so I decided to pass. I think this location may be better suited for RV campers, especially since some spots offer electric hookups. One other downside was the amount of large debris in the area. There were items like old appliances and furniture next to the campsite, which made it feel more like camping between storage or junk areas than being out in nature. Overall, the host was great, but the tent camping experience itself didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Wonderful land/spot. Wonderful host. They had quick and amazing communication. They met us at the gate and showed us to our spot. Super friendly people! The land was nice, secluded, and clean. The listing here says not bathrooms which is technically true but there is a porta potty that they take good care of. So that was a nice surprise. Close to a whattaburger incase you arrive late and are super hungry. (Its the only thing open super late) We got there at midnight and they were okay with that. I was super anxious about getting there so late but they were so kind and understanding. Amazing experience. Id definitely come back if we are going through Texas again.

We very much enjoyed staying at Prarie ranch 2, the big open field view was beautiful and the hosts were very responsive. The location was great, about 4 minutes from down town Mansfield so you’ve got the quiet of the camp and the access to town all just right there. We absolutely plan to stay again

I travel full time. Finding places to comfortably camp in Texas can be expensive and difficult. This has been my go to spot for 2 years now. Affordable, close to town and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Quiet yet close

It feels secure. I left my trailer there for a few days and when I came back, Eddie checked to be sure it was really me getting into the trailer. You also feel like you're out in the country when you are really only 3 miles from a cool little down town area.

Perfect place to Camp / Boon-dock! Rod and Eddie have been more than accommodating during our stays! Very roomy, couldn’t find a better place to feel safe while camping, also a perfect field to play catch with the dogs!

Our stay was awesome for the most part! Hosts were super nice and accommodating, we had a lot of space, and we (and our dog) had a great time! The only downside was the road was very busy and loud, but that may have been because it was the day after thanksgiving/Black Friday, but it made it hard to sleep. Other than that, our stay was awesome!

Safe and convenient to downtown

The boondocking sites are spaced far apart. There is a gate and Eddie keeps an eye on the property, so it feels very safe. It's only minutes to get to Mansfields downtown area. Rod was responsive with communication. I'm planning to stay here again. FYI - they have sites with electricity and really good shade. I just chose to boondock.

Wonderful, quiet place to stay. Hosts were great, Eddie is friendly and respectful. Made sure I had firewood and gate access. Very clean out toilet close by. Quick communication, Rod is very responsive. First time solo camping and as a woman alone, I felt safe! Once I went to bed I never heard anyone. Just quiet and peaceful. My site was slightly off the road; serene area with fire pit. Electric outlet. Some sites have 30 amps or 15 amps for hookups.

My husband and I only stayed for a night and it was really nice! We were provided fire wood and the owner was super nice and showed us where everything was. Me and my husband wanna go back when we get the chance and spend more time there. It's super pretty and you can see the stars really well. I totally recommend camping here!

I loved our location, but the entrance was a mud wrestling pit after some rain. The 4x4 was good to have. I didn't dare try to pull the travel trailer through until it dried up. Some gravel would be great. Also, a note for Hipcamp, Google Maps took me to Egypt. My partner used Apple Maps and the same address worked fine.

It was a convenient place to land after a full day at the Fort Worth stockyards. Very shady. Bring your bug spray!!! Power available. Portapotty was the only facility

Not a true Campsite

The host and his brother in law are super nice and answered our questions in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the area itself is not a true campsite. We had to rent a site next to us to have enough room to camp and these two spots are the biggest. It did rain our first day and two days before that so everything was super muddy but they did keep the main road smoothed down for easier traveling. Right behind our site was a scrapyard so our back view was blocked and there was junk between our site and the scrapyard including an old shack that was falling down. The trees were nice but only a few spots are in the trees and are super tiny. The rest of the spots are in an open field so these would be best if you had an RV. We were at Forest Ranch spots 1 & 2 were not far from the main road so we heard cars all night. Other sites are too close together so hardly any privacy. The area must be close to a gun range and venue because we heard gun shots throughout our time there, and Saturday night two different venues had concerts that could be heard from the camp at the same time. No peace and quiet at all. This would be an ok spot for a place to stay for one night if you need to stop for a night and travel on the next day, but not a whole week. The pictures on the website are misleading except for the picture of the open field with the electricity towers. No hiking or fishing either. We were definitely disappointed and will not be using this place again.

Just what the doctor ordered! I loved it. Even with other campers in sight it was so peaceful. The land was so beautiful and Eddie was the best. I will definitely be visiting again.
