5 beautiful acres in the Swan Valley with horses, we run a horse rehoming charity from here where all proceeds from hipcamp go to support our facility. Along with plenty of horses, you'll also see kangaroos at certain times and our pet sheep Jamima who thinks she's a horse! A superb property with a winter creek and an open paddock where the horses live. It's very peaceful. There are only two camping sites available on this wonderful property at any time so privacy is assured. There is also a dam on the property so please mind any children with absent swimming abilities. Campfires are allowed during the season, and there is a toilet and shower available in the shed 100 meters from the camping area. Smaller groups booking the campsites will have full access to the toilet and shower. Please note, however, we offer a group camping option for larger groups but those booking this option must be fully self-contained as our facilities are not enough to support a large group. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy here, we kindly ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. We also ask that you please do not feed the horses. The property is well located to access many great wineries and cafes in the famous Swan Valley area, some within walking distance. Security here is taken care of by Mr security guard "aka" Smoky our pet dog. He's very safe and timid. If you get a pat from this boy I know you're good, so beware! We are dog friendly here, so you're welcome to bring mans best friend and we also have a secure yard to house any pets if you need a break, so long as they don't hassle the horses. We may also be able to accommodate your horse - please discuss this with us prior to booking. All sites here enjoy a minimum of 100 metres separation. We love all animals here at Nanga River Retreat and we'd love for you to bring yours along (Remember to book our pet friendly site – ‘River Camp’, and dont forget to bring your little yellow bags please). We also enjoy an abundance of wildlife traffic through the property. We would love to see all the Witches, Wiccans, and other Weirdos out there, we encourage you to book in for a spell. (pun intended) You'll fit right in. 🧙‍♀️ We invite discreet devotees of herbs, and mushrooms, to visit for a while, you will absolutely love it here, with privacy you just cannot get at the park 🤙 Come and find yourself, or maybe lose yourself, down by the river in Dwellingup, forest getaways dont get much better. Black Cockatoo Reserve, a naturally beautiful bushwalk, is only a 5-minute stroll away. Wonderful cafés are located within a short walk, cycle, or drive. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead. We had a flying visit to this great spot so only for one evening. The site was fantastic, with fire pit, stools, table and chairs. The place is peaceful, tidy, and exactly what you want for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were super welcoming and made everything easy. The property has heaps of space, great views, and a really chilled vibe. Perfect spot to kick back, enjoy nature, and reset. Highly recommend!

Helps getting out when the bank is wet, dont forget to chuck it in the water before you jump in. We suggest you have a look where the logs and branches are under water before you get in and the water gets muddied.

The spot was perfect and clean and the frogs sung such a symphony as we sat reading by the fire, drinking wine. However, I did not do my research, as Nanga Bush Camp is across the road! Teenagers screaming karaoke from 6 till 10. But I feel like we were unlucky with that. Otherwise, highly recommend!

What a lovely place to stay with such hospitable hosts. It's so serene and quiet yet close to town to grab things then you need. Donna gave us some great local recommendations and Millie the Kelpie was friendly and loved a belly rub. We would stay again if in the area. The site was pretty flat. Enough sun for solar recovery and they even laid a fire and wood out for us. Thank you guys. We fit our 21.6ft van in no problems.

Dale and his dogs and horses were all very friendly and kept us company throughout our stay (camping is in a paddock with the horses, and the dogs come and go as they like). Access to toilet and drinking water appreciated. Plenty of space, and a fire to keep us warm in the evening. 20min walk with the dog to the nearest dog-friendly Pub. A lovely spot.
