Just 1 hour from Perth, Harmony Retreat is a conscious camping space situated on 25 acres at the foothills of the Darling Range Escarpment just 10-15 minutes from Pinjarra and Dwellingup, 7 minutes from the southwest highway, and 3 minutes from Pinjarra-Williams Road. It's an easily accessible and picturesque private property with approximately 7 acres of forest, flushing toilet, hot outdoor shower, a winter creek, a swimmable spring-fed dam, and an abundance of bird and wildlife, nestled between cattle farms in the heart of the Peel region. There are friendly free-ranging chickens and Guinea fowl, a mischievous mini pig, friendly goats, sheep, and a family dog on site. The owners Michelle, Troy, and Carolyne live and work onsite (this is a working farm). THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BOOK IF YOU INTEND TO PARTY. The camping area is easily accessed by most vehicles. There is a hot water outdoor shower and toilet available to use and within walking distance of each site. CHILDREN - The dam on the property is currently unfenced and has steep sides when the water line is low, therefore this property is not recommended for those with small and wandering children. We also asked that older children are supervised, so as not to vandalise property, nature, gardens and fire-pits (this has been a problem in the past). Friendly dogs are welcome, however, must be kept on a leash at all times, due to free-ranging chickens, livestock and wildlife on the property. There are no cooking facilities available. Therefore, you will need to be completely self-sufficient including cooker, kettle, esky, etc, and also bringing your own drinking water as the water from the taps comes from our spring-fed dam. We do ask that you follow local fire regulations with no outdoor open flames during fire bans. All rubbish and waste needs to be taken with you. However, Peppa the Pig will always appreciate your veggie scraps. Fires are permitted in designated fire pits during fire season. Anyone found having a fire during FIRE BANS will be reported to authorities and asked to leave the property immediately (we need to use firm words around this, as bushfire destroys homes and endangers lives). All sites here enjoy a minimum of 100 metres separation. We love all animals here at Nanga River Retreat and we'd love for you to bring yours along (Remember to book our pet friendly site – ‘River Camp’, and dont forget to bring your little yellow bags please). We also enjoy an abundance of wildlife traffic through the property. We would love to see all the Witches, Wiccans, and other Weirdos out there, we encourage you to book in for a spell. So folks, the idea of this campsite and indeed of the entire property, is that it's intended as a tranquil and quiet retreat for those that wish it to be so. Thanks for understanding. A small advice for those bringing children, in fact for anyone that intends to swim in or be beside the water, this is a wild and unfenced river access area and all care should be taken in supervision. 25 acres of bushland 130 km's south of Perth, surrounded by state forest with a crystal clear creek running through it 12 months of the year. Secluded and very quiet with abundant birdlife and the occasional kangaroo, emu and echidna's passing through. Pet kookaburras - will eat out of your hand and steal from the BBQ. Located at the base of Logue Brook dam wall, where a short walk makes all water facilities available, plus trout and marron when in season. Adjacent to the Munda Bidi trail, with cycle paths running in every direction. Not to defray the natural environment, only lovers of wild life and serenity are welcome, so no Ghetto blasters or party animals. Laughing, singing, dancing and joking, actively encouraged! Tents, camper vans, small caravans with good drivers and trailers only. PLEASE NOTE: Weeknights require a minimum of 3 nights stay. Weekends 2 nights minimum. This vacant block is located on the opposite side of the main dwelling, relatively flat with a winter-flowing creek, surrounded by native trees and local habitat. Kangaroos are often seen frequenting the property along with kookaburras the odd echidna. Sleep amongst the beautiful sounds of the local bird wildlife. Located only a 2-minute drive from the popular Lake Leschenaultia where you can have a swim, take out the kayak, or enjoy one of the bike trails. Drive 5 minutes to downtown Chidlow to indulge in a beer and a meal at the local pub and also visit the local grower's mart to purchase food supplies or alcohol. There are plenty of walking and mountain bike trails to keep you entertained for your stay.

Dougy's Den is a magical little spot to camp. Beautiful surroundings with tall trees, ferns and babbling brook. Flushing toilet and cold shower, table and chairs under a gazebo. Dougy's Den is a well thought out site and Graeme is a top bloke. Will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic stay. Private, quiet and serene. Water and a flushing loo, plus things like brooms and a large table makes this incredibly convenient. Having a large undercover area makes this a perfect stay in any weather. Greame was a fantastic, friendly host.

We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the camping lot. Very spacious, with a play swing set for kids (note to self for bringing the grandies next time) Transportable loo clean and operating. Lovely 2 minute to walk down the embankment to the river. Much more privacy than in the National Park. Geese, pigs and little piglets in their pens a good distance away and it was a delight to visit them. Lots of activities to do around the area or just do nothing and enjoy the peace and quiet, the trees and the birds. Spotted a Splendid Blue Wren close to our camp! Yay! Prompt communication from Shane throughout. Thank you Shane, it was just what we needed.

A beautiful property to explore. Lots of privacy at the river camp site. Huge site. The later check out time meant we could enjoy our last morning and the tent was dry by the time we packed up. We had the most wonderful stay at Nanga River Retreat. The setting is beautiful and so peaceful, surrounded by wildlife. Each morning we woke up to the sound of birds, and in the evenings we spotted baby pigs wandering about which was such a sweet surprise. The river and walking tracks made it easy to explore, but it was also the perfect spot just to sit back and soak up the quiet. Everything felt serene, private and relaxed, exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend if you’re after a calm nature escape

Weekend Trip to Harmony Retreat

We camped at the harmony dam site and it was beautiful!!! We had the best time. My 6 year old daughter was in her element feeding Peppa the pig and getting to see the sheep, chickens, rooster and birds everyday!! The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate and very well kept and the natural spring dam and trampoline were a hit too. If you are wanting to head out some places are recommended and honestly the magic barn and play grounds are worth it!!! We will absolutely stay there again!

Weekend Trip to Harmony Retreat

This is our second time camping as a small group at Harmony Retreat and once again, we had an absolute ball. The space is huge, no crowding with other campers and we camped in the back paddock near where the neighbours have goats. Being city born and bred, I didn’t realise that the wailing goat was having a baby but she was and we were so blessed to see her baby immediately after it was born. These are the experiences in life that I love! We also love all the animals around the property - Peppa Pig, Lucy and Leo Lamb, Wally and Molly the black cockatoos and all the adorable little quails. Great for kids and big old animal lovers like myself! Thanks Troy, Carolyne and Michelle for sharing your home with us, we are so grateful for the opportunity.
