Once logged for its timber in the 1960's by Wundowie Steel Foundry for it's steel mills and furnaces, there are still many tall/older trees as well as regrowth. We often have Kangaroos, Wallabies, occasional Echidnas, Goannas, Lizards and many species of Birds. All live in the wild and there is no guarantee that we will see them

Where to begin. Mark was the most accommodating of hosts, his kindness is unmatched and you can clearly see the effort and love that has gone into making the grounds and the tiny homes. The facilities are clean and well kept along with him supplying laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, conditioner etc. The small clean camp kitchen has everything you need along with the lovely lush outdoor seating area that can have the joy of a warm fire in the right season. The grounds are well maintained and sometimes occupied by a kangaroo or two. The reserve that backs onto the site made the stay so peaceful as all you hear is the natural bush. It’s a great spot to commute to Perth only being an hour drive as well as being close to the quaint town of Bindoon where the Bakehaus is must visit. Can’t thank Mark enough for such a pleasant stay.

As mature travellers, we appreciated this peaceful sanctuary amongst the trees and birds. We were in the area for the Perth Trail Series Chitty Chitty Run Run if anyone is looking for accommodation, we highly recommend. The site is peaceful, well equipped, and suited our needs perfectly. Mark is a wonderful host, very accommodating and kind. He has done wonderful job of cultivating this site which was recently opened prior to our arrival. We stayed in the powered site 1. We were very happy with the clean and tidy grounds and beautiful backdrop of trees, red dirt and wildflowers. The track behind our site was a beautiful walk with lots of kangaroos and birds to be seen. Camp host very friendly and welcoming. Ed is a very welcoming host. His home is your home during your stay. Location is great for a peaceful getaway.
You have the option of power or no power. There is also the option of using a shared bathroom if not self sufficient.
The fire pit was available and Ed kept it well stocked with wood.

Weekend Trip to Echidna Springs Horticulture
My Husband and I took our dog to stay at Ed's place for an overnight stay. It was so quiet, the only noise was from birds and the wind rustling in the trees!
Ed maintains the property very well, everything is neat and in order. Ed even cooked our sausages for us on the BBQ!
The cabin is very nice, it would suit 4 people no problem. Be aware there are no amenities in the cabin, the kitchen and bathroom is in the main residence.

Myself and my fiancé wanted a camping weekend outside of Perth and the mountain park retreat was perfect. We were immediately immersed in the serenity of the countryside with beautiful views of the crops and rolling hills. The evenings were even better looking at the stars. John was a fantastic host. He really looked after us and showed us all the interesting parts of the farm and awesome stuff he has built and collected over the years. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a breath of fresh air and a great experience.

Oh my! Possibly my favourite camp spot to date and I’ve Hipcamped my way across Australia! Laureen was kind enough to let me just stay for the one night as I just had a few days off work and am a solo camper always trying to escape when I can! Had the hole back end to myself and the ways in which this spot has been curated and made into such a wonderful and interesting spot to stay is so incredibly cool! The old cars, trucks, signs,motors,vans you name it, everything so thoughtfully collected and laid out. I absolutely loved it. I will definitely be back, the view of the stars as well! Could see the entire Milky Way. Felt like I was in a planetarium at night. Worth every penny! Thank you so much 🫶🏼❤️ I will be back! And everyone should stay here!

The night sky was so clear so many stars even got to see some shooting stars. Would definately recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Toodjay area.
