Weekend Trip to Jinjarra Homestead

Our first time camping at Vanessa & Troy’s farm, Jinjarra & WOW - what a stunning spot. Only an hour or so from Perth - 15km’s north of Gidgegannup, this has to be one the best stats close to Perth. Vanessa & Troy are super hosts, attentive, caring & just downright great people. Even with the expectant cold front approaching we decided we’d give it a go. Camping in caravan with a diesel heater is after all ‘glamming’ not camping. We’d pre-ordered firewood which was very kindly left at our campsite & even covered with a tarp to keep it dry! We made good use of that in the supplied fire pit the 2nd night a the rain held off for a while. Vanessa drove ahead of us through the paddocks to direct us to our site to make sure we knew exactly where we were going. She even checked in with us on Sat morning to ensure we were ok with all the rain. There are two sites on the farm a couple 100m’s from each other - far enough that you feel you’re on your own. Loads of bird life & kangaroos. It’s a working farm so there’s cows & sheep in the neighbouring paddocks - also take care when driving through some of the paddocks to/from your site as they are seeded with crops so stick to the fence lines. Fresh farm eggs are also for sale & can be collected from the farmhouse at check in. There are no facilities here so you need to be fully self contained. We highly recommend Jinjarra Homestead & we’ll most certainly be back. Thank you Vanessa & Troy for your hospitality.

Plenty of areas for bushwalking or photography. The property is home to the WA Birds of Prey Rehabilitation and educational centre. The Swan Valley is only a short drive when you can experience local wines and produce. Campers must be either self sufficient with their own camping toilet and take all waste with them on departure when located at the back of the property. The property comes with its own composting toilet and hot outdoor shower, gas cooker and pot belly stove. Other things to note Moonbeams Yurt is situated at the bottom of a 1 acre property, on a large 48sqm decked area. The yurt is 20sqm in size and the composting toilet and shower are within 10 steps from the yurt entrance. The hot water shower is an outdoor shower with a privacy screen. There is NO power at all, but 1 battery powered light is available, and there is a basic gas cooker provided. There is no refrigeration. Parking is at the top of the property and guests will have to walk down a partially sealed path to arrive at the entrance to the yurt, so good mobility is needed. You will need to bring in refrigeration/Eski, lights and basic cooking camp ware. A wheelbarrow can be provided to get gear from car to yurt. A Double bed is provided. Optional extras are fresh bedding. The pot belly stove is great for the winter, and timber is provided for cold nights. We do not recommend booking during our hottest months, unless you love the heat. This property is great for backpackers or people wanting to see the sites of Perth and surrounds. The train line is close by for people who do not have a car. There are many walks and states forests in the area. We have a two night minimum stay.

Jacaranda Hill Farm

We are closed from 1 Dec through to 31 March due to High Fire Risk. Our 43-hectare property is on the edge of the Darling Scarp behind the historical Fairbridge Village. Only 1 hour south of Perth, so it is close enough for a quick weekend getaway but far enough to enjoy the silence of the bush. There are elevated campsites with views west towards Mandurah and the Peel Estuary, northwest views toward Perth City, and three dams on the property. Guests must be fully self-contained, as no toilets or showers are available. Just amazing views :) Some locations are suitable for tents only, and some for caravans only. 4WD/AWDs are recommended as most sites are not easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle, especially during winter. Dog friendly. Campfires are permitted in designated areas with the host's approval (depending on fire restrictions). We are closed over the summer period due to increased fire risk.

100-Acre Woods

We are a hobby farm set on 100-acres on the North Dandalup scarp, with a few sheep. You will find kangaroos, echidnas, sometimes emus visiting our property. You can enjoy the great views into the horizon towards the Indian Ocean amidst the tall jarrah and gum trees. Campsites are set in the woodlands, some with views. It’s perfect for people seeking 'quiet' time away, but still near to amenities in the towns around here. You can take walks to experience forest therapy, have a campfire or canoe in the dams during wintertime. There is no power, water or toilet facilities so campers must be completely self-contained. You are expected to clear up and take all rubbish with you. Leave no trace. The terrain is rather hilly, hence a few sites are accessible only by 4WD (Sembawang and Changi). There are some sites that are still accessible with regular cars (Opera 1, 2 or 3; Tampines, Bedok). RVs and small caravans are welcomed. All vehicles have to stay on the paths, and not to make any tracks. The gravel road leading to our property is shared with neighbours who run horses. As such, please drive really slowly here so as not to cause the horses to bolt. During the summer fire season, fires are strictly prohibited! Dogs welcome (on leash).

5 beautiful acres in the Swan Valley with horses, we run a horse rehoming charity from here where all proceeds from hipcamp go to support our facility. Along with plenty of horses, you'll also see kangaroos at certain times and our pet sheep Jamima who thinks she's a horse! A superb property with a winter creek and an open paddock where the horses live. It's very peaceful. There are only two camping sites available on this wonderful property at any time so privacy is assured. There is also a dam on the property so please mind any children with absent swimming abilities. Campfires are allowed during the season, and there is a toilet and shower available in the shed 100 meters from the camping area. Smaller groups booking the campsites will have full access to the toilet and shower. Please note, however, we offer a group camping option for larger groups but those booking this option must be fully self-contained as our facilities are not enough to support a large group. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy here, we kindly ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. We also ask that you please do not feed the horses. The property is well located to access many great wineries and cafes in the famous Swan Valley area, some within walking distance. Security here is taken care of by Mr security guard "aka" Smoky our pet dog. He's very safe and timid. If you get a pat from this boy I know you're good, so beware! We are dog friendly here, so you're welcome to bring mans best friend and we also have a secure yard to house any pets if you need a break, so long as they don't hassle the horses. We may also be able to accommodate your horse - please discuss this with us prior to booking. Avonbrook is ideal with its yearlong Creek and rocky outcrops for our Dexter cattle and Nigerian Dwarf x goats. We hope to enjoy for many years to come. We have 3 campsites at the moment, site A is the smaller of them. There are unfortunately a few ants nests around so please be aware and pitch up anywhere around the site thats best, even on the paddock side if suits... thanks, Sarah PS the cows can be naughty and like to chew cords so keep the gate shut to resist temptation! Hope you enjoy your stay on our land. Proceeds go back into feeding livestock and the maintenance of our farm. We live on a picturesque 700 acre property, high in the Darling Range an hour north of Perth. The property overlooks Lake Chittering with sweeping views to the horizon. The native bush here is typical of the Darling Ranges, featuring Jarrah, Marri, Wandoo, Xanthorea and Banksia. Fed by the mighty Brockman river, the pretty Chittering Lake is almost completely obscured by vegetation. The lake features lots of birdlife including swans, wood ducks, spoonbills and wedgetail eagles. The Chittering valley has much to offer including scenic walks and local cellar doors. The springtime is full of the region's wildflowers, and if you're visiting around October don't miss A Taste of Chittering, the food and wine festival showcasing local produce. We have a number of campsites on offer for your relaxing holiday.

We love our little tranquil piece of paradise... our little freedom farm, with it's beautiful natural spaces and menagerie of animals, yet close to lots of local amenities in Baldivis / Rockingham. We're just a 15min drive to the beach and 30mins to Perth city or Mandurah. We can only accommodate a small number of campers, or groups of campers, at any given time.. so you have space, solitude and security for your family/group. You MUST be fully self contained WITH your OWN TOILET. There is NO power available. Clear bore water for small tank fills can be arranged during your stay. NOTE: we do NOT have mains water and constant tap access is not available. Water refills need to be requested and you may need to wait up to a day. There are tyres and poles, sand piles, fencing projects underway, etc etc. There are also many free roaming animals - our friendly farm dog, the chooks, sheep and alpaca.. along with, occasionally, the usually contained horses who sometimes figure out a way to sneak out for a wander! If you are looking for manicured, super flat areas or have a fear of animals - this is NOT the place for you. There are also a HUGE number of factors that can affect your stay that I have ZERO control over... The seasons change a lot of things throughout the course of the year: we have snakes (like ALL Aussie bush places) for most of the year; an assortment of insects, according to their seasons; varying growth stages of grasses - long, short, brown, green and sometimes grass seeds/prickles.. along with some crazy weather on occasion (high winds, high temps, storms) - NONE of which I have any control over.. so if you are a moaning myrtle and any of those things are likely to bother you, please don't come to our property... oh, and roosters - we have them too! If you accept that you are staying on a working hobby farm and that I have no control over nature - then welcome, there is much beauty here for those who have the eyes to see - and as a base to explore the Perth area, we have a pretty convenient spot :)

Family friendly (not a daycare center) farm, located 40 minutes from Perth. We have a Brewery and Restaurant located onsite, ideally located between Toodyay , Northam and York. The ideal base for exploring the the Wheatbelt region. Come along to our Karaoke nights at the Restaurant 1sr & 3rd Saturday of each month! Summer Creek was established in 1884 by Edward Vivian Harvey Keane. Keane was a prominent figure in the development of Western Australia, having constructed over 800km of rail around W.A. The property runs alongside the discontinued railway line, known as the Kep Track / Golden pipeline trail, which is part of the same railway network as the Bibbulmun track. The old winery building was saved by R and A Poulton, after a demolition order was places on it by the Northam shire in 2002. The property is now heritage listed, and the fight to preserve it from main-roads continues. Our camping set-up is a work in progress, so we would appreciate your suggestions and feedback, we now have a cold shower on site. When things dry out we will be able to do more work on the accessibility. Children are welcome, but make sure you are prepared to look after them. This is not a place to let then go feral. This is a working farm and has all the dangers that go with that. Please appreciate our home, as we are opening it up for you to enjoy as much as we do. From plants, rocks and old equipment, you may not be aware of its significance, so please be respectful and dont damage our home. If you book during the week (Monday to Thursday) please arrive before 7:30pm and make sure you give us a call to we know you are coming, we don't always check these messages. Thank you :)

Welcome to Beyond Our Gate, our semi-rural bush property less than half an hour from the Perth CBD and Fremantle. Our 5 acres is mostly uncleared bushland and we are often visited by kangaroos, quendas, and a variety of birds including black cockatoos. We offer sites for fully self-contained setups up to 6 metres (20ft), as well as a secluded site suitable for swags, camping, roof-top tents, or small camper-trailers. Beyond Our Gate is a great spot for a quick break without the long travel, or a base of operations as you explore Perth and the surrounding areas. It is fire season, so you are able to have fires. Please bring your own firewood, or firewood can be available at a cost if you let us know beforehand.

Share the joys of hobby farm life amongst the trees (literally) atop our 6m lookout tower surrounded by bird life, horses, sheep, chickens and a host of marsupials.... Kangaroos and Emu's may drop by... Walk amongst the veggie garden and orchard and help yourself (within reason) to what's growing, in season.... If the chooks are behaving you just may score eggs for brekki... Relaxation, peace and quiet is the norm but should you feel the need a 10min walk will take you to the banks of the beautiful Serpentine river likewise a short stroll (or,!!! borrow the bike) and you'll find the quirky Spudshed for your convenience... If your self contained, great,,, but we do provide toilet, shower, kitchen and TV room within our on site "granny Flat" for guests use... We also offer a 4 berth Avida Motorhome with all mod-cons parked in our paddock ( P O A ) One shortfall is we can't accommodate large, or long, rigs due to the volume of trees which limits maneuverability... We are a 45min drive south of Perth and just 5min from downtown Mandurah with all it's holiday highlights... and if driving's not your thing we can pick you up from the Mandurah train station...
