Riverside King Valley is set on 16 acres on the banks of the King river featuring 10 spacious campsite spread along the property. Just a half an hour drive from Wangaratta, 45 minutes from Benalla and an hour from Mansfield. Each site offers something a little different whether it is a spacious site for a large group or party or a smaller site for a family weekend away. Our site is accessible for all vehicle types and is dog-friendly as long as pets are well-controlled. Campfires are allowed when restrictions aren’t in place, and firewood and kindling is available for purchase (see Extras). Please keep in mind that the property is a working farm and there will be cars and machinery onsite nearby to some of the sites. Each powered site has only 1 power supply. Samsons Gully is a working cattle farm nestled in a stunning private valley. If you are after peace and tranquillity this is where you will find it. We have a national park on one side of us, and the Cudgewa Creek flowing along our front boundary. The property is perfect for mountain biking, bushwalking, fishing or just plain relaxing. The favourite camp site is on the banks of the Cudgewa Creek. However, there are plenty of places to camp in the bush for those wanting more seclusion. Samsons Gully is a perfect base to explore the Upper Murray. 20 minutes away is Corryong where there is an IGA, service stations, dump point, Dr and hospital, pubs and cafes. 10 minutes away is the Cudgewa pub who do dinner Wednesday through to Sunday evenings. Our property suits fully self contained campers only as there is not toilet or shower. Dogs and horses are welcome but must be well behaved and kept close to your camp site as this is a working cattle property. Due to council regulations we can only open one site up at a time. This ensures that your time here will be exclusive, peaceful and private.

The property is on the side of a hill, which provides spectacular valley views to the north. Our family live in the recently completed straw bale house on the property, which sits well below the camping sites. The property has a fully functional camp kitchen with a large deck as well as a bathroom with toilet and shower. Due to the slope the tent sites are not suitable for camp trailers (the tent sites are flat but there is nowhere flat to park a car next to it) and the tent sites are not suitable for vehicles. Therefore we can only accommodate people with tents/swags.

Second time back to Riverside King Valley. Another great trip! Toilet and firewood ready to go on arrival. Warm welcome from Daemon. And the site as pristine and beautiful as I remembered. Robinia Rainforest is a great site for privacy away from other campers. It's the last site furthest away from other campers with plenty of shade as well. Also feels like your own private section of River as well with the way it curves along the camp sites.

We loved the whole experience. The property is easily accessible in caravans. So so much space and huge camping areas. Other people camping but you would never know. Ian and Patrick are fabulous and friendly hosts. Great river access drop toilets which were very clean. Pet friendly. Highly recommend this hipcamp. We will definitely be back😁

Incredible place to stay, a real bonus having a toilet The most lovely host Ian. A fantastic flat super large area to set up. His property is a privilege to be allowed to stay. Wal has loved fishing in the river attempting to catch cod. He can see how big they are the water is so clear. Instead he has caught fresh crayfish. Our dogs have loved holidaying with many walks and swims. Very greatful for being allowed to bring them to Ian’s fantastic piece of paradise.

I recommend anyone coming through the area or anyone wanting to explore the area for a little camping break to this place. It’s beautiful and quiet and Jai and Colin have put so much love into the property. They’re lovely People and full Of info about the local spots. We wanted to be there for the whole long weekend but weather sent us home early but we will be back.

Weekend Trip to Kickin Back

We had a fabulous time at Kickin back. We are group of 6 families, we choose to camp at wombat bend, there was plenty of room to setup and then for the kids to play. The site was flat and beautifully green with stunning views. The creek running through was appreciated by all, the kids loved playing in there and the dogs loved cooling off. The dams were great fun for a dip and a play on the kayaks. We loved listening to all the wildlife and the peacefulness of the site. Jai and Colin were exceptional hosts, very friendly and accommodating. We can't wait to go back and spend longer there next time.

Great location to the wineries, brewery and township of Whitfield. Daemon was a great host and happy to help out. Firewood was handy benefit. Loved being close to the river, couldn’t get the kids out of it. Pity the weather turned south though, had to pack up early as it was going to get too wet. Riverside is a WONDERFUL place to relax and enjoy the beautiful trees, birds and river. Daemon and Sara made us so welcome and helped us with our every request.
