Great fishing, canoeing, rowing, bird watching and water skiing 1 km up stream. Boat ramp is available at Picnic Bend and at the South end of Lloyd St, the Main Street in Dimboola. First came site is adjacent to Dimboola and others heading upstream for about 2km on the eastern bank of the Wimmera River. The “Dreamtime Billabong” a frog paradise, is a cut off water body, from the Wimmera River, with amazing double canoe tree on the junction with the River. Wildlife that can be seen would be similar to that of the Little Desert National Park. Some very large goanna’s are present and possibly some snakes, most common are the eastern Brown snake. The snakes generally don’t bother people but accidental encounters can occur. There are also bull ants and their bit can be very painful. Campfires are allowed in compliance with all fire regulations. The fire restrictions apply in the Wimmera from approximately 1 st November to middle of March every year. Campfires must be attended at all times during this period, with 3 metres completely clear of all vegetation. TOTAL FIRE BAN days, are common in the the summer and ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES can be lit in the open. Train and bus services are available to Dimboola from Adelaide and Melbourne Absolutely wonderful natural beauty, on the banks of the majestic Wimmera River. Great fishing, canoeing, rowing, bird watching and water skiing 1 km up stream. Boat ramp is available at Picnic Bend and at the South end of Lloyd St, the Main Street in Dimboola. First came site is adjacent to Dimboola and others heading upstream for about 2km on the eastern bank of the Wimmera River. The “Dreamtime Billabong” a frog paradise, is a cut off water body, from the Wimmera River, with amazing double canoe tree on the junction with the River. Wildlife that can be seen would be similar to that of the Little Desert National Park. Some very large goanna’s are present and possibly some snakes, most common are the eastern Brown snake. The snakes generally don’t bother people but accidental encounters can occur. There are also bull ants and their bit can be very painful. Campfires are allowed in compliance with all fire regulations. The fire restrictions apply in the Wimmera from approximately 1 st November to middle of March every year. Campfires must be attended at all times during this period, with 3 metres completely clear of all vegetation. TOTAL FIRE BAN days, are common in the the summer and ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES can be lit in the open. Enjoyed our quick stop here. The highland cows Jackson, Nina and Luna were a great attraction for our daughter and very friendly. The owner even came by in the morning with carrots to feed them. Everything you need, flat site, power and a toilet. Perfect for a stopover. Bonus that it’s super close to town for a pub meal and wineries.

Amazing 5 day camping experience! As beginner campers, this place was absolutely perfect! - very private, quiet, safe, and it truly felt like home. The owners, Tom and his lovely wife Cate, were incredibly welcoming and checked in with us regularly, especially during the rainy days. We really appreciated being allowed to use the indoor facilities for safety. Tom is friendly, kind, and very knowledgeable about wildlife. He took us for a walk around the camping area where we saw wallabies, kangaroos, cockatoos, and even emus! Having breakfast with wild wallabies nearby and spending time with my daughter under a sky full of stars were truly unforgettable moments. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back! Tips: • About 30 minutes to Halls Gap town • Around 25 minutes to Woolworths & BWS • Toilets and showers aren’t right next to the campsite but are within a manageable distance — and super clean! • Weather can change quickly - We set up a tarp over the tent and stayed completely dry. Just be prepared for changing weather!

We camped there before Christmas and it was a peaceful spot with a stunning mountain view all to ourselves. The toilets and showers were clean and well-maintained. We even spotted wild kangaroos, rabbits and wallabies! Jillian and Phill were incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone.
