The Greyt Sanctuary is an 80 acre mostly open grassland property located equally between Halls Gap, Ararat and Stawell. We have views of The Grampians, The Black Range and Sugarloaf Range. We have kept it to 6 campsites across the property to allow our guests their own space and not be too close to each other. This way you can also enjoy the property and views almost exclusively. We have 2 rescue Greyhounds that you can interact with under supervision with the hosts. They are very friendly and entertaining to interact with. In the mornings and evenings Kangaroos migrate through the middle of the property. Guests are welcome to have a wander around the property during daylight hours. Amazing stargazing opportunities and wildlife watching.

Open, flat grassland area situated near tree line, with beautiful large old trees, and small dam. Grampians views from this location. Close to the road and driveway access with an old foundation nearby. Located near where the Kangaroos come in though they will keep their distance a bit when people are near. Campfire in fire pit allowed. Pets allowed only on lead. Site has a weather protected composting toilet. Hosts onsite if needed.

Dam Good Sunsets is just that. Beautiful sunset views across the dam is a perfect way to end the day. Nestled in a secluded area of the property it is best suited for 4WD vehicles as access is across uneven ground.

Great location, very peaceful and quiet. Excellent for looking at stars, and lovely sunset over the mountains. Plenty of space for tent set up and good ground. Drop toilet is very clean, well kept and easy to access. Kids especially loved going to the dam and running around.

Quiet picturesque scenes with amazing hosts to help you when in need. The property is massive with cool landscapes to explore and beautiful birds to watch flying in between trees. As the sun sets over the Grampians mountain ridge the sky lights up with stars and constellations I’ve never seen before. Amazing stay, want to visit again Thanks for having our group!

We loved our time camping at the Greyt Sanctuary - the Grampians Views site lived up to its name. The site was flat and grassy, on the edge of a woodland patch that the kids loved exploring. Roos bounded past morning and evening. The composting toilet was a win - the best one we've ever seen! Melanie was a delight to communicate with and made us feel very welcome. We hope to visit again!

Honestly, what a location and such a great host. The compost toilet block idea was great and probably the best one we've seen so far. Sunsets and stargazing were the cherries on top, we'll definitely come back

Fantastic spot. Nice and flat for the camper, and easy to see the kids running round. No other campers so was very private (though the campsites are not too close together anyway). Loved the newly finished 'green loo'. If we were back that way would definitely stay again. Hosts even provided a colouring pack for the kids! 10/10

Stunning piece of bush paradise, the peacefulness was so relaxing. The kids had a blast finding wood and riding their bikes on the huge abundance of flat space. And the huge kangaroos were incredible! Meeting Met upon arrival was a breeze, she gave us a great intro about her property, and also gave us some great info on what to see and do. Only negative was the corrugated road in, but again Mel told us that there was an alternative road which was much more kind on our car and caravan. Cheers for a great stay

Mel was an excellent host. She was friendly and helpful making sure we were comfortable for our stay. The property is remote but close enough to Halls Gap, Ararat and Stawell (we also had daily swims at Lake Fyans). A great base for exploring the region.

Fantastic location and plenty of space between sites. The amenities are very useful, and there is plenty of firewood on site. Excellent views of sunset and stars—meeting the dogs was a bonus! I will definitely be back.

We were a group of three families camping together and really enjoyed our stay at Melanie’s. It was quiet and peaceful and we got to bike ride and walk around the property and meet the dogs. We would happily return.

Our family loved staying at the Greyt Sanctuary. It was very peaceful and the campsite had lovely surroundings. The grass in the paddock is kept low, so our children were able to enjoy riding bikes and running around the property with pet dogs safely. We were provided with a huge pile of wood. Mel and her daughter were very friendly and helpful. We loved waking up to see kangaroos grazing nearby.

Such a beautiful property and welcoming host! My partner and I had the best couple of nights here. It’s the perfect location where you’re far enough from everything to enjoy the serenity this place offers but close enough to the Grampians to enjoy amazing views from the campsite and hikes within just a short drive. Thanks Mel, we’ll definitely be back!

Mel and Marc were amazing hosts, friendly and welcoming! Views of the Grampians were amazing especially at sunset. We enjoyed seeing the kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and endless birdlife. Halls Gap, Pomonal and Ararat were an easy drive away. Our 8 night stay was relaxing and peaceful. Plenty of firewood supplied and the porta potti was serviced daily. Hosts also supplied recycling and rubbish bins. We are already making plans to return!

Loved the site and the hospitality. Spent time with the rescue greyhounds which was amazing, saw some Kangaroos in the wild too. Incredible property and so close to the Grampians.

Mel and Marc were so friendly and welcoming. Such a beautiful block and such a great site. We had privacy, natural beauty all around us and what felt like endless firewood! A great spot for a family getaway or a trip with friends.
