We endeavour to provide a peaceful environment, and this is generally a lovely quiet location which more than fulfils our own personal requirements for an undisturbed lifestyle, and will no doubt do so for the vast majority of campers. But we can’t guarantee it will always be completely silent during the day or at night- especially if the lambs or calves or foals are being weaned from their mothers! Ear plugs are available for light sleepers if required. And if you are an extremely noise sensitive person or someone who wants a private camping experience with no noise or neighbouring houses visible, this may not be the right spot for you (if this is you, we would recommend looking for a more remote stay on a large acreage which will provide you with a more private experience) * And while on the topic- if partying late into the night with loud music, a thumping base on your sound system and extremely raucous singing and laughter is your thing, then this is not the right camping spot for you. While we are all for socialising and having fun, if you want to party loudly into the wee hours we would suggest finding a camping spot far away from neighbouring properties where the sound doesn’t carry for miles across the land. However feel free to go out for Friday night Fish and Chips at the Strathbogie Store, or check out the great country pubs at either Euroa or Violet Town. Just watch out for wildlife on the roads. Access to the property is also via approx 2kms of unsealed road. Ashlan Farm is 20 mins to Violet Town. Ashlan is a working farm, and we also have an array of wildlife visiting. The property is a birdwatcher's delight, with a variety of species making the property home. If you like star gazing, you have found the right spot. We have no light pollution, so its the perfect place to take advantage of seeing the stars above. Unfortunately, as we are a working farm, the property is not pet friendly nor do we offer any animal experiences., however you may be lucky enough to see our friendly (and crazy goats). They do like a pat and love apples and mandarins. The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of six guests. Kitchen, wifi, laundry and BBQ. All guests will need to supply car registration details. This will give you access to the property. There is CCTV located at the front of the property and going up the driveway. We live onsite (in a separate house) if you need any assistance. You will need to bring your own supplies (food and drink) as the closest shop is 20 mins away. However feel free to go out for Friday night Fish and Chips at the Strathbogie Store, or check out the great country pubs at either Euroa or Violet Town. Just watch out for wildlife on the roads. Access to the property is also via approx 2kms of unsealed road. Ashlan Farm is 20 mins to Violet Town. Perfect if you wish to explore the Violet Town markets. 25 mins to Euroa 40 mins to both Benalla and Mansfield 90 minutes to Mt Buller

We had an amazing stay! Sally and her wonderful family made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. Their property is beautiful and perfect for camping plenty of space, peaceful farm surroundings, and lots of friendly animals. My 9-year-old had an absolute blast spending time near the horses, goats, the sweetest dogs, and spotting native birds. A special mention to Sally’s son, who became the best “local guide” my boy could ask for. He was an incredibly lovely, friendly, and super polite young gentleman "truly a highlight of our stay". We stayed in a powered site close to the farm, which was super convenient, but they also offer unpowered sites that are a bit more private if you prefer a quieter spot. Both options are great. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place more. It’s a fantastic experience for families and anyone who wants a relaxed and welcoming farm-style camping getaway. We’ll definitely be returning!

Carole was a friendly and generous host. I was given wood, eggs, oranges, spinach and even a salve for my sprained ankle. My camp site, situated at the bottom of their back garden, was right on the creek and felt like a bush setting. Plenty of animals -peacocks, geese, goats, chooks, to see, but not unfortunately the elusive platypus. But they did set up a TV documentary on platypus for to watch at my convenience. Definitely recommend their Farmstay.

We had such a fantastic stay at Granite Springs Farmstay near Chiltern. From the moment we arrived, Sally was incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, and instantly made us feel comfortable. We stayed at Farmstay Site 4A, which was very easy to access and had plenty of room for our setup. The site was private, peaceful, and powered, and we loved being right near a paddock where we could watch the horses and foals playing throughout the day. Sitting outside and watching the sun set over the property was genuinely stunning. The whole atmosphere felt safe, relaxed, and completely stress free. Hearing the gentle nays of the horses added to the charm in the best way. Our kids had an absolute blast meeting and feeding the horses and goats, and they have not stopped talking about the friendly farm animals since we got home. They are already asking when we can come back for a longer stay. A big highlight was swimming at the waterhole, which the kids adored. Sally also took us on a lovely little tour of the vegetable patches, and we even got to try some fresh guinea fowl eggs, which were so tasty. The farm was easy to find, the price was fantastic, and everything felt genuine, warm, and full of country hospitality. We would recommend Granite Springs Farmstay to absolutely anyone looking for a real farm experience. We only stayed one night this time, but we cannot wait to return and spend even more time there.

We had a blast tent camping at the Mansfield Lake campground with power, including our furry babies (Polly and coco) Booking was a breeze, and the customer service was top-notch. From the Hicamp website to the host, everyone was super helpful. The bathrooms and restrooms were spotless, and the hot water was a huge bonus! We also loved watching the sunset over the beautiful lake. We're definitely coming back.
