Situated in the beautiful locale of Chiltern in northeast Victoria, Granite Springs is located on 80 flat acres with underlying springs and a creek running through the property, and it’s very conveniently situated just a few minutes off the Hume Highway! You can choose to camp privately amongst the native trees or next to the big pond- sit on the jetty and take in the birds, trees and wild life, have a swim to cool down on hot days, toast marshmallows around a campfire, walk along the creek that runs through the property, or just sit by the little waterfall with your feet in the water listening to the water gurgling through the granite stones and allow the stress of life to drift away. Or if you prefer, you can participate in a true farm stay experience! Stay near the original farmhouse, choose a powered site, book a Meet, Greet & Feed tour and join us on a feed run to feed the horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens and guinea fowl, enjoy watching the baby animals frolicking (depending on when you stay), get up close and personal to pat and feed some of the animals, collect the eggs, see the dairy goats being milked; and if you wish you can partake in an evening bbq meal with us on the deck and enjoy an evening filled with great food, hospitality and laughter. Should you wish to make it an even deeper experience, you could book in for a reiki session with a qualified and accredited Reiki Master (with or without the animals assisting!) or an Equine Assisted Transformation session... this is the perfect location for those who are energy sensitive and who wish to deepen their connection with the land, nature and themselves, or who feel the need for some healing or clearing work. If you wish, you may pre-order a basket filled with a selection of local produce and goodies for your stay (please note that we require 48 hours notice on some basket selections) So many choices, and you can mix and match to create your perfect camping getaway with as much or as little interaction with the animals or other people as you wish to experience! You can even bring your own 4 legged friends- well behaved dogs are welcome provided they are kept restrained at all times. Less than 3 hours drive from Melbourne, the property is conveniently located within minutes of local shops and Chiltern- Mount Pilot National Park, 10 minutes from the popular town of Rutherglen, 20 minutes from the Murray River, Beechworth and Corowa, 25 minutes from Wangaratta and Albury-Wodonga, 40 minutes from Mount Buffalo… this is a popular location to strike out into the high country from and is very popular with cyclists, hikers and nature enthusiasts alike. Hiking, cycling, nature watching, birdwatching, visiting local sites to see Aboriginal Art, panning for gold at local rivers, berry picking at nearby farms, trail riding… there is so much to do and explore in the local area! Or just come to relax, recharge your batteries and spend some time quality time reconnecting with yourself and/or loved ones Please note: * At this stage, you will need to be fully self contained with your own cooking facilities, toilet, shower and potable water for most of the sites. *There will be some areas that you cannot go on the property due to animals being housed there, and electric fencing is used throughout the property. So please read and follow the signs, stick to the areas designated for public use, always use the gates (and if you open a gate, please close it behind you) and be mindful of the fences. If in doubt, DON’T touch the fence! Or if you do, make sure someone is videoing it and please post it on the Facebook page!! NB- If you would like to explore, then please book a farm tour with us to see the whole property and experience meeting the animals up close and personal. * Campfires in the designated fire pits are welcome, but ARE NOT permitted on days of high fire risk or Total Fire Ban days. You may collect twigs and branches from the ground, but please don’t break or cut branches off trees. Bags of pre-cut wood are available to purchase as an extra or upon request. Please ensure that all fires are completely out before leaving them unattended. * While we welcome your furry family members, we do require them to be well behaved and on a lead at all times. We have a zero tolerance policy for dogs chasing farm animals or being excessively disruptive, and any such behaviour will result in you forfeiting your payment and being asked to leave immediately. You are welcome to walk your dog on lead throughout the designated public areas on the property and along the roadside and surrounding trails. If you wish to visit local areas where dogs can’t be taken, you can book your furry friend in to be dog-sat here on the property while you go out exploring. * As this is a farm, and is surrounded by other farms, there may be farm noises like dogs barking, sheep baa-ing , cows moo-ing, horses neighing, Guinea fowl squawking, and/or Belle the Needy Noisy Nubian Dairy Goat calling for her feed (or rug if it’s cold!) We endeavour to provide a peaceful environment, and this is generally a lovely quiet location which more than fulfils our own personal requirements for an undisturbed lifestyle, and will no doubt do so for the vast majority of campers. But we can’t guarantee it will always be completely silent during the day or at night- especially if the lambs or calves or foals are being weaned from their mothers! Ear plugs are available for light sleepers if required. And if you are an extremely noise sensitive person or someone who wants a private camping experience with no noise or neighbouring houses visible, this may not be the right spot for you (if this is you, we would recommend looking for a more remote stay on a large acreage which will provide you with a more private experience) * And while on the topic- if partying late into the night with loud music, a thumping base on your sound system and extremely raucous singing and laughter is your thing, then this is not the right camping spot for you. While we are all for socialising and having fun, if you want to party loudly into the wee hours we would suggest finding a camping spot far away from neighbouring properties where the sound doesn’t carry for miles across the land. Please be mindful of us, our neighbours and others nearby who may be trying to relax or sleep, and keep noise to a respectful level after the sun has set. TIA for your understanding * We want your stay to be relaxing and enjoyable, so please contact us if you need anything or have any issues and we will be happy to help in whatever way we can :)

Site 4- Farmstay

100%
(25)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 15 m
The Farmstay Powered site is situated just inside the main entrance of the property near the hosting family’s farmhouse, features a concrete pad for you to park beside so that you aren’t stepping out of your van onto dirt/mud, and has the option to access power as an extra, as well as optional toilet and shower access only 30m from your campsite. Perfect for those wanting to experience a true farm stay complete with free ranging chooks and Guinea fowl, along with Asher the Golden Retriever and the two kelpies Polly & Tilly, and the farm cats (who may try to go home with you… check your vehicle and van before leaving!), all whilst still having the option to access the creature comforts of hot water, a flushing toilet and wifi connection as extras. You can watch the animals being fed in the morning and/or late afternoon and going about their day, or get up close and personal with them by booking a Meet, Greet & Feed Farm tour where you can spend an hour meeting and feeding all the animals, patting the ones that come to say hello, collecting the eggs, and if it’s the right time of year you may get to see the baby animals and have a go at milking the dairy goats or house cow! As with all our sites, you will wake up to the sound of birds in the trees, as well as the added bonus of the rooster Captain Midnight crowing to bring in the dawn, and the Guinea fowl making their unique calls… they USUALLY wait until a civilised hour before starting up but if you would like ear plugs just in case, we will provide them for you! There is an abundance of birdlife to be seen around the garden and little orchard, and if you keep your eyes open you may see eagles cruising silently up above hunting for prey. You can also take a walk around the property and explore the communal areas. Visit the spring fed pond and go for a swim if it’s hot, or just sit and watch the sun set over the trees and enjoy listening to the frogs & multitude of birds singing in the trees. Or take a stroll along the Barambogie Creek as it winds its way through the property- see if you can find the little waterfalls and enjoy listening to the water gurgle it’s way downstream while relaxing in the shade of the trees and watching the birds and wildlife that may cruise past. Watching the horses, cows and other animals graze can also be a lovely way to pass the time. This site is also suitable for those wishing to bring their own horse for a getaway, you can bring your own horse and hire a nearby yard to keep it in, and enjoy exploring the abundant local trail riding through the nearby plantation that adjoins the nearby Chiltern & Mount Pilot National Park and Barambogie Bushland Reserve. You may like to book in to share a BBQ dinner with your hosts, or spend an evening around a campfire toasting marshmallows at the fire pit (seasonally as permitted). This site is perfect for those who may like a more social experience, but if you would just like to have access to power and wifi and prefer your own company that’s not a problem- please let your hosts know and they will respect your wishes for a more private stay. This camping site is in the host’s front yard next to their farmhouse, so expect that there will be normal household activities and noise going on throughout the day. There are two neighbouring properties with visible houses approx 300m away. This is a quiet area with polite and respectful neighbours, so you probably won’t hear much noise from them. You will be staying a few meters in from the roadside, and although it’s generally a very quiet country road with minimal traffic passing by under normal circumstances, passing cars and bikes may create dust in dry conditions as they drive past. There may be equestrian and farm activity occurring near your campsite throughout the day, and the chooks and Guinea fowl will be free ranging around the area too. The host family’s dogs may also be out in the yard, if you are scared of dogs please let us know and we will endeavour to ensure that they are locked up while you are staying. If you would like more peace and privacy and don’t require access to power or wifi, Site 1-The Pond is further away from the house in the middle of the property and will be much quieter, or Site 2-Private Paddock Retreat will allow for private camping without any intrusion from others on the property. This site currently has access to using the host family’s outdoor area and fire pit, and you can choose optional extras that include power, wifi, toilet and shower, laundry and BBQ facilities or an extras package with them all included. All facilities are within 30-40m of your campsite. If you are fully self contained that’s perfect too- just choose to book the site without any extras added in. Dogs are welcome provided they are well behaved and restrained at all times, please pick up after them and dispose of all waste and rubbish in the allocated bins. Access is via the main entry, and will be able to be accessed by all vehicle types in all weather. NB- If it is extremely wet and boggy, please ensure that you check in with your hosts upon arrival where to park to ensure you don’t get bogged.
