The Clifton Beach/ South Arm are is an incredible place but with real limited camping options. Allan and Lyns place was a refreshing option. The hut gave a bit of room to spread out and the deck was great compared to what we are use to Only a 10 minute walk to Clifton Beach and central to some great hiking options. There property is well maintained and privacy ensured Thank you both for being such great hosts

Karen’s property is beautiful. It looks down on the famous Bread frigs and we were amazed at how many people stopped for bread and/or photos! You must be self contained to stay here and fires are allowed. Karen was easy to communicate with and we’ll happily return when next on Bruny.

Derek is a wonderful host and the property is well set up. The fire pit and picnic table is a nice spot and the access to the Derwent River is perfect. Closest he highway yet so quiet. Clean public toilet around the corner at Gretna is handy.

The place was what we expected, nice clean facilities able to get out of weather and keep warm with combustion heater as we went kite surfing at the beach the shower was a nice relief when wet and cold.

Amazing visit. This powered camp was clean with very helpful amenities such as toilet and shower. Kitchen was well supplied with utensils, cutlery and crockery if you needed. Plenty of room for our multi generational family trip. Nice relaxing vibe with hammocks to chill out in and soak in the natural serenity. A proper piece of paradise, and literal 5 minute walk to the beach.

Weekend Trip to Deep Glen Coastal Campsite

Perfectly placed campground on the Tasman Peninsula, just above Pirates Bay. What we loved most was the two camp sites had plenty of space, and we didn't feel like we were crowded in. Easy access to each site, long drop toilet available, and a lovely area to explore. Cubed (retro coffee van) is a short walk away for a lazy start to Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 'best bang for buck' bushwalk to Waterfall Bluff is an easy 10 minute drive, and thoroughly recommended. We took our own firewood however the hosts can arrange this if you don't have your own supply. We fell asleep each night to the distant roar of waves, with the occasional hoot-hoot of an owl. Other visiting night-life included pademelons and bandicoots. Our hosts provided sound local knowledge, and we will definitely be back again.

Stayed here for one night, and it was great! Would definitely recommend. Short walk into town, beach and general store. Can get a coffee at the cafe next to the general store, and close drive to the Bruny island cruises terminal. Kitchen has anything you would need, a treat if you are camping. Same with the bathroom, was fresh and clean!

This property features all the elements required for a camping adventure. Located on Bruny Island on an open paddock in a bush setting, you will have 60 acres to explore or relax in complete privacy. Arrive here using Sealink Bruny Island ferry. and take the Blinkbonny Rd Turn off traveling for approx 500m from the corner. The campsite is best suited to self-contained 4WD campers who must bring their own toilet/shower facilities, drinking water and supplies. Pets on leashes are welcome. Campfires are permitted in the dedicated firepit. Take a stroll down to the beach and have a swim in the turquoise coloured water at Little Taylor Bay, or explore the bush and look for spotted par-ado, swift parrot, sea and nesting pair of wedge tail eagles, hawks, plovers, honey eaters, wrens, herons, brone wing pigeons just to name some of the birds. We also have a few of the famous white kangaroos, plus lots of smaller wallabies. There are good trails for hikes and mountain biking at the Mount Midway Forest Reserve and Mount Bruny Forest Reserve. Don't miss out on the Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tour - built in 1836, it's the only heritage listed lighthouse open for tours. Please stay within the property boundaries as shown, there is no access to Daniels Bay.

Falcon Ridge

Falcon Ridge is our piece of rural paradise. The property slopes up from the road to a large ridgeline, on the right days, you will see Peregrine falcons or wedge-tailed eagles using the uplift to effortlessly soar over our property. We also have multiple echidnas that share our property, along with a family of shy wombats (that you might be lucky enough to see at dawn and dusk). There are sweeping views to the North and East. The campsite (which you will have all to yourself) has options for all vehicle types, although some minor levelling may be required in parts for vans/campers. You're welcome to bring your dog along too! We can only accept self-contained campers, so you'll need to have your own camp toilet. There is a dump point located in Sorell (15 mins away). A fire pit has been made for your use. There is an abundance of sticks on the ground for you to collect and burn (subject to fire restrictions), I have also created a small firewood store for your use on wet days for a small fee if required. Settle in, and experience the resident wildlife during the day or the stars at night.

Semaphore Farm

SAME-DAY BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BY 2 PM THANKS. Total numbers at the site are kept below 45 people for a more peaceful experience. Semaphore Farm is a 400-acre property with convict history, bordering the Port Artur historic site. It is a private timber reserve and a working forest farm. We have a combination of native eucalypt forest and plantation, and we grow hay and our own beef. We have many walking and bike trails through 150 acres of forest and pasture accessible to campers. The campsite has spring water on tap, a hot shower, toilet, rustic camp kitchen, wood stove, gas BBQ, level sites, and a campfire when permitted. Tent sites are flexible so you can choose your own space within a 2-hectare area, while Level pad sites are limited. The Port Arthur Historic Site and a safe swimming beach are within walking distance and Safety Cove and Remarkable Cave are only a 5-minute drive away. Longer walks, including the Three Capes tracks, are easily accessible. Launch your boat nearby to access good fishing or fish for squid off the Port Arthur jetty. There is plenty of wildlife to see at night and birds during the day. You might even see our resident Wedgetail Eagle! Dog-friendly (must be under control/on a lead/contained).

Cluny Lagoon

Take the opportunity to enjoy this very special place on the lake to pitch a tent or park your van. You can lay back and star gaze the myriad of stars, and even take a jump off the pontoon into the beautiful cool waters, or bring your kayaks and paddle the shores. A great base to visit the Florentine valley, Mt Field and many other nearby attractions. The tranquillity and privacy will leave you a wonderful feeling of peace. This is a wonderful place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon. Farnese Olivo is a family hobby farm set on 5 acres overlooking the Coal River Valley in Acton Park, just 15 minutes from Hobart CBD. The Duck Hole is a historic farm dam offering a quiet rural experience. We highly recommend 4WD only between April and August due to large amounts of rain periodically. All campers have free access to: - potable drinking water - shower (open air, cold only) - outdoor basic cassette/camp toilet for tent bookings only, we ask if you are self contained to use your own facilities - rubbish bins - fire pit and firewood - cast iron bbq plate and skillets for cooking in the fire pit - picnic table and chairs overlooking the dam - dam side hammock The property was established in the early 1980s on the site of one of Hobarts oldest farms (the original house built in 1826 still stands as a beautiful family home 2 doors up on our street). We are home to three friendly hand reared sheep - Daisy, Frank and Bill who love pats and food. Muscovy and Indian Runner Ducks, Chickens and many native birds. Overlooking the historic dam there is a shared fire pit with firewood supplied. There is a dump point within 6km, located in Cambridge Park for those with their own toilet. Some minor leveling may be required. The sheep pen and duck hole sites are pretty much flat. As we have farm animals, you will get to hear our sheep and ducks enjoying their environment. However, it is very quiet of an evening/night. We love meeting new people and are passionate about our property we can’t wait to share it with you and your family! Check in MUST be between 12pm and dark due to safety and our council permit. If you require check in after dark please contact us prior to booking to arrange.

Bruny coastal camping & Funky Barn

Situated on a small coastal farm on 8 acres above the cliffs of Adventure Bay, at the southern end of the neck beach, and in a central location for exploring Bruny Island. Camping area and the barn are in a gently sloping pasture paddock with flat areas for camping. Beautiful walks from the property, with just a five minute walk down to the spectacular sea cave, and a 10-15 minute walk through the light bush and along the picturesque cliff top coastline to the neck beach, where you can swim with the waves, fish off the rocks, or go for an endless walk along the beach. 5 minutes drive to adventure bay's beautiful beaches which are safe for swimming and dog friendly, as well as the grocery store, restaurant, bowls club (for Friday and Saturday night meals). If you love birds, there will be plenty of sounds to listen to from the trees. You might be lucky to see the wedge tail eagle hovering above. Resident banjo frogs live in the large pond in the corner of the paddock. The main house where we live part time is on the property, but you still have your own space and reasonable privacy. 2 options available: + Camp site for just one group at a time in a relatively flat area with lovely ocean views. + Or upgrade to an affordable lodging in a rustic but comfortable converted horse barn, double bed in the loft with clean linen provided, living and kitchen area. Magnificent ocean views from the lounge or when lying in bed next to the window upstairs. Portable camping toilet is in the outhouse. Dogs are subject to pre-approval, and must be kept under control if our horses or dogs are on the property. Horses are usually only here during the winter months. The property is fully fenced so there is plenty of space for your dog to run around and a large pond. And please don’t expect Airbnb standards if you chose to stay in the barn. Its is a fun affordable upgrade/escape from camping without the glamour and high fees of glamping.

Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart. The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes. Our Hipcamp site has full council approval.

The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

Our paradise is located on Bruny Island, with forest mountain views to the west stretching to the south and east across Adventure Bay to Tasman Island and Peninsula. Camp is just a short walk to Quiet Corner and Two Tree Point, two iconic spots on the Adventure Bay coastline. Fluted Cape and this whole area are spectacular for nature lovers. And you'll be sharing the space with resident wallabies and native birdlife. This little block has plenty of sun and a shady fern glade for hammocks, flat spots for camping or vans, with a flushing toilet, hot shower and laundry facilities. The camp kitchen is located in a cosy north-facing cabin with a lounge, BBQ and fire pit. Pet's are welcome, but we ask they be kept under effective control at ALL times - see rules. Adventure Bay shop is 1 km away. A well stocked general store selling firewood bundles and fuel.

There is a boat ramp on the other side of bay approximately 5kms away. There are shops and cafes just down the road at Adventure Bay. 1.5 hours drive from Hobart. Guests must be full self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Female only! Stay in a bohemian traditional Mongolian Ger (yurt) on a beautiful Australian native garden of 2 acres overlooking Mercury Passage and fascinating Maria Island. Private yet safely contained within the property Would be ideal for single travelling female if any age who wishes to explore this beautiful area. Visit the stunning Maria Island, 20 minutes away to the Triabunna ferry. Visit Freycinet and the Tasman Peninsula. Hobart is 75 minutes away, airport 50 minutes. East Coast Tasmania..nowhere better! Enjoy lots of activities in the area and come back to your serene surroundings. The Seadragon Yurt is basic and rustic. It's cosy, has minimal facilities but you can boil a kettle, microwave a meal (home cooked meals $15 booked in advance) a porta porti and main bathroom facilities in my house twice daily.. There's an armchair, a wood stove, a single comfortable stretcher bed. Microwave, tea & coffee. Filtered rainwater. BYO sheets & towels or let me know and I can provide. I'm a respectable distance away but your privacy is as important to you as it is to me. Park on-site and you have a private entrance. There are two silly labradors who may visit you outside so you do need to be a dog person. If not.. sorry the yurt is not for you. Please note this is a female only property.
