Rivers Edge is 24 acres of forest on the banks of the Leven River in Gunns Plains, Tasmania. We are in our own little valley surrounded by tall forests. Preston Creek flows all year through our property and meets the large Leven River where your campsite is situated. Perfect for trout fishing, platypus watching, bird watching or catching the sun setting through the trees on the river bend. There are even the endangered black fresh water crayfish. The site is large enough for up to 5-6 caravans for large bookings, and we only take one booking at a time, so its exclusively yours. We are only 20km to the nearest town, Ulverstone which as everything you need. The road is close by the campsite with easy access to find the property. No toilet facilities at the site. Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found. River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it. Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. You absolutely must make sure your campfire is fully extinguished before you leave. Please check "My Trips" (in your profile) for directions once confirmed. Look for the 'Rivers Edge' sign on the entrance gate, then you know youve got the right site and not the neigbours property (which is along side mine on the river) Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept with you at all times, no roaming dogs as the road is close by. We love the peace and serenity here so please no unruly behaviour or parties.

Camp out on our 25-acre farm and animal sanctuary in the fertile valley of Preolenna, in Tassie's lovely north-west. Here, we grow sunflowers, potatos and other vegetables. We enjoy welcoming guests to camp or to stay in one of our vacation rentals on the property. And guests love staying here! They particularly enjoy the meandering bush walks that lead to lakes and hidden waterfalls. Campers have access to power and excellent sweet and soft well water, as well as toilet facilities. Access for all types of vehicles is good, with plenty of space to turn around. This is a farm animal sanctuary so guests are asked to respect animals by not cooking them here. We appreciate your respect in this regard. Japa Hill makes for a safe base to explore the region, with Boat Harbour just 30 minutes drive away and Cradle Mountain two hours away. 19. Wobbly Gate Estate

71km from Rosebery · 8 sites · Lodging
Welcome to Wobbly Gate Estate! This is glamping with a side of real camping in the Tasmanian bush. Goats and sheep will stroll around and you have over 20 acres all to yourself to explore. We're located up a gravel road on the northwest coast, you won't find any other tourists here. Soak in the woodfired tub, under the blackwood tree. Cosy up to the wood fire, roasting marshmallows in your star Gazer yurt. A comfy queen bed and a backyard of adventure, it's a Tasmanian version of luxury camping. Our Yurt location is known as The Top Paddock - A Little Inside Information: Well in my opinion (and a few others) I am Living The Dream! I started living here permanently seven years ago, most of the property's out dwellings and the Cabin is built from recycled, reclaimed materials or been handed down. I am fully off the grid and in the process of trying to become self-sufficient. The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed. It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals. There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting. It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding. You should come see for yourself 😉

12. Rivers Edge

94%
(124)
72km from Rosebery · 1 site · Tent, RV

Pitch your tent or park your van next to one of our lovely dams. The property is home to running streams, waterfalls, platypus, free range pigs, sheep along with stunning views. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the warmer months and lots of walking and exploring the rest of the year. Campers must be self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Camp fires are welcome pending there are no restrictions and they must be kept contained. Access can be difficult after heavy rainfall and you will need to drive through opened paddocks and unformed tracks to campsites so please use caution. We are just 20 mins drive to Ulverstone and a 10 minute drive to Leven canyon, Preston falls and Gunns Plains so there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. 60 minutes drive to Cradle Mountain and 90 mins drive Tullah West coast. 30 mins Penguin and Devonport.

18. Japa Hill Farm and Animal Sanctuary

77km from Rosebery · 2 sites · Tents, RVs
The Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal is just 74 minutes drive away.
