The site is suited to people who want a quiet secure base from which to explore the region. Camp site is fully fenced on 5 acres. No chemicals used on the block. The camp site is on a section of 5 acres of this property. Its location is approximately 5 min drive from the Murray River where you can enjoy boating, swimming, and fishing at Woodlane Reserve. Majestic river red gums in the area make for beautiful walks along the bitumen road as seen in the photos. Mypolonga is a small agricultural town.
The location is reasonably quiet however at peak times you may be able to hear boats from the river, or the other agricultural pursuits on the farms.
The location is approximately 20 km from Murray Bridge and 1 hour from Adelaide and the Barossa Valley. Monarto Safari Park is 25km away and there is private wetlands Paiwalla on the opposite side of the river which you visit by kayak/canoe or drive.
We are currently not allowing children or dogs. Cats are acceptable. Potable water is available at the site. A small extra fee will be charged depending on your requirements. If you need a protected area for your gas burner cooking there is a solid brick room available also.

Our property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer
Ranges and is
on the Bremer River in Rockleigh.
This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area.
We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums-
surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated
further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and
requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags.
The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully.
We are 45 minute drive
from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region.
We are only 30 minutes drive from
Monarto Conservation Park
which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals.

You are welcome to walk through and explore the paddocks containing the creek line. Do not drive across the creek - walking and bicycles only.
Please do not feed the wildlife or the cattle and practice leave no trace camping. For stays longer than one night campers must bring a portable chemical toilet. Use only the firepit provided and comply with current fire danger restrictions. There are also a range of cafes, restaurants, galleries, and a distillery. Spirit of the Coorong cruises leave from Goolwa Wharf, where you can also board the historic Oscar W paddle steamer.

The Hut – a rugged hut with three enclosed sides, perfect for sunset drinks or a picnic. Suitable for tents or camper trailers; 4WD and reasonable backing skills required.
The Laneway – beside the winter creek, ideal for small caravans, motorhomes, 2WD vehicles, or tents (please check with hosts if your vehicle is large).
Family & Animal Experiences: Pets are welcome (please keep them under control unless discussed with hosts). We run a small mixed farm in the Adelaide Hills, and over the past 10 years, have been developing this little safe haven in the Southern corner of our property. We are trying to encourage the proliferation of local wildlife that everyone can enjoy both now and in the future.
The Winter Wetlands is NOT a 'caravan park'. It is a small, private, sanctuary, which is at it's best in the cold wet Winter months when the pond/ dam comes to life. Guests can kick back around the campfire overlooking the dam, as they listen to the crickets and frogs in the evenings. There is a resident Western Grey kangaroo, many possums (both ring-tail and brush-tail), native burrowing rats, koalas and an occasional wandering echidna (if you are lucky enough to see one). There's a plethora of birdlife, including favourites such as blue wrens, fairy wrens, and a resident family of white-winged choughs.
The Sanctuary caters for a maximum of seven bookings (2 guests per booking) at any one time. Usually, you will have the Sanctuary all to yourselves. There are many little picnic spots.
We request that guests leave no sign of visitation, and take all waste with them.
CAMPERVAN SITES:
As stated previously, regulations only allow the following:

*NO CARAVANS, TRAILERS, OR TENTS.*
We have 7 independent, unpowered, sites that are suited for Class A or B campervans or motorhomes ONLY.
ACCESS:
There is easy, main road access into the 'Winter Wetlands Sanctuary' from Brookman road. GPS: -35.21694, 138.6970.
There is a clearly marked, one-way, loose stone road that leads to all available sites. Look for the reflectors on the big gum trees on Brookman Rd, and the gate with the notice of Conditions of Entry denoting the way in.
COMMUNAL AREAS:
The communal shelter shed, picnic areas, and two communal camp fires offer a variety of places to relax and watch the local birds enjoy the area.
NEARBY FEATURES include:
- Directly across the road from the Heysen Trail in the beautiful Kuitpo Forest.
- 3-4 minutes to exceptional SA wineries including K1 (4 mins down the road), and Perrini (in the nearby township of Meadows) .
- Near Echunga Goldfields (Jupiter creek) (20 km away), and Prospect Hill (4 km away) for fossicking.
- Kuipto Forest TreeClimb is only 2 km up the road and has thousands of visitors per annum.
- Easy access to tourist townships of McLaren Vale (15 mins), Hahndorf (25 mins), Mt Barker (25 mins) and Willunga, which is well known for its Saturday Morning Market (15 mins).
- Facilities such as Pharmacy, Medical clinic, Petrol Station, Hotel, and Bakery can be found in Meadows, only 5 mins away.
The Winter Wetlands are fully fenced ensuring privacy.
In the interest of the wellbeing of local wild life, nearby stock, and neighbours, we ask that you do not play loud music at night.
WASTE:
NO HUMAN WASTE.
Guests staying in the Winter Wetlands must have self contained toilet facilities and grey water tank.
There is a Waste Dump Point in Meadows (6 km away) near the footy oval (Brooks street rec. ground, GPS: -35.180278, 138.76).
SIZE RESTRICTIONS:
Due to the nature of the vegetation in the Winter Wetlands, and manoeuvrability of vehicles, size restrictions apply. Sites will suit campervans (7.5 m or less), but will NOT be suitable for caravans. Caravans, trailers and tents are NOT permitted.
UNSUITABLE for CHILDREN and PETS:
Forest Gate is a working farm. There are regularly livestock in the paddocks adjacent to the Winter Wetlands. There is also an open dam and a communal fireplace in the Winter Wetlands.
Due to our insurance policy, we can not allow children or pets. Therefore, stays in the Winter Wetlands are only available to adults.

The site is suited to people who want a quiet secure base from which to explore the region. Camp site is fully fenced on 5 acres. No chemicals used on the block. The camp site is on a section of 5 acres of this property. Its location is approximately 5 min drive from the Murray River where you can enjoy boating, swimming, and fishing at Woodlane Reserve. Majestic river red gums in the area make for beautiful walks along the bitumen road as seen in the photos. Mypolonga is a small agricultural town.
The location is reasonably quiet however at peak times you may be able to hear boats from the river, or the other agricultural pursuits on the farms.
The location is approximately 20 km from Murray Bridge and 1 hour from Adelaide and the Barossa Valley. Monarto Safari Park is 25km away and there is private wetlands Paiwalla on the opposite side of the river which you visit by kayak/canoe or drive.
We are currently not allowing children or dogs. Cats are acceptable. Potable water is available at the site. A small extra fee will be charged depending on your requirements. If you need a protected area for your gas burner cooking there is a solid brick room available also.

Our property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer
Ranges and is
on the Bremer River in Rockleigh.
This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area.
We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums-
surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated
further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and
requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags.
The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully.
We are 45 minute drive
from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region.

You are welcome to walk through and explore the paddocks containing the creek line. Do not drive across the creek - walking and bicycles only.

Use only the firepit provided and comply with current fire danger restrictions. We are a small vineyard, winery and cellar door set on 45 acres of land. It's mostly pasture with 7 acres of vineyard. Guests are welcome to park during the week in the cellar door carpark or on the South side of the cellar door. On weekends we have a grassed strip, 8 metres wide, between a vineyard block and a windbreak. Which overlooks the valley behind and distant hills to the front. Being self contained is essential. Our toilets are only accessible when the cellar door is open. On weekends guests are welcome to come for dinner on Friday or for lunch on Saturday or Sunday, and then stay overnight, so they can enjoy a few drinks without worrying about driving home!

Please understand that our business model licence and insurance policy has stringent conditions attached to it.
*WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ACCEPT SELF-DRIVEN CAMPERVANS/MOTORHOMES THAT ARE 7.5m OR LESS IN LENGTH*
They must be equipped with their own toilet facilities and grey water reservoir due to governmental zoning regulations. Do NOT book unless you have your own toileting amenities and grey water tank. No human waste policy applies. If you have to cancel your booking because you do not meet these requirements, you will NOT be refunded. It is out of our hands.
Our Insurance policy disallows the following:-

Now that THAT is all said:
Forest Gate B&B has been receiving guests on the property for nearly 40 years and the Winter Wetlands is a small private sanctuary that we share with our guests who enjoy both privacy and open air.
We run a small mixed farm in the Adelaide Hills, and over the past 10 years, have been developing this little safe haven in the Southern corner of our property. We are trying to encourage the proliferation of local wildlife that everyone can enjoy both now and in the future.
The Winter Wetlands is NOT a 'caravan park'. It is a small, private, sanctuary, which is at it's best in the cold wet Winter months when the pond/ dam comes to life. Guests can kick back around the campfire overlooking the dam, as they listen to the crickets and frogs in the evenings. There is a resident Western Grey kangaroo, many possums (both ring-tail and brush-tail), native burrowing rats, koalas and an occasional wandering echidna (if you are lucky enough to see one). There's a plethora of birdlife, including favourites such as blue wrens, fairy wrens, and a resident family of white-winged choughs.
The Sanctuary caters for a maximum of seven bookings (2 guests per booking) at any one time. Usually, you will have the Sanctuary all to yourselves. There are many little picnic spots.
We request that guests leave no sign of visitation, and take all waste with them.
CAMPERVAN SITES:
As stated previously, regulations only allow the following:

*NO CARAVANS, TRAILERS, OR TENTS.*
We have 7 independent, unpowered, sites that are suited for Class A or B campervans or motorhomes ONLY.
ACCESS:
There is easy, main road access into the 'Winter Wetlands Sanctuary' from Brookman road. GPS: -35.21694, 138.6970.
There is a clearly marked, one-way, loose stone road that leads to all available sites. Look for the reflectors on the big gum trees on Brookman Rd, and the gate with the notice of Conditions of Entry denoting the way in.
COMMUNAL AREAS:
The communal shelter shed, picnic areas, and two communal camp fires offer a variety of places to relax and watch the local birds enjoy the area.
NEARBY FEATURES include:
- Directly across the road from the Heysen Trail in the beautiful Kuitpo Forest.
- 3-4 minutes to exceptional SA wineries including K1 (4 mins down the road), and Perrini (in the nearby township of Meadows) .
- Near Echunga Goldfields (Jupiter creek) (20 km away), and Prospect Hill (4 km away) for fossicking.
- Kuipto Forest TreeClimb is only 2 km up the road and has thousands of visitors per annum.
- Easy access to tourist townships of McLaren Vale (15 mins), Hahndorf (25 mins), Mt Barker (25 mins) and Willunga, which is well known for its Saturday Morning Market (15 mins).
- Facilities such as Pharmacy, Medical clinic, Petrol Station, Hotel, and Bakery can be found in Meadows, only 5 mins away.
The Winter Wetlands are fully fenced ensuring privacy.
In the interest of the wellbeing of local wild life, nearby stock, and neighbours, we ask that you do not play loud music at night.
WASTE:
NO HUMAN WASTE.
Guests staying in the Winter Wetlands must have self contained toilet facilities and grey water tank.
There is a Waste Dump Point in Meadows (6 km away) near the footy oval (Brooks street rec. ground, GPS: -35.180278, 138.76).
SIZE RESTRICTIONS:
Due to the nature of the vegetation in the Winter Wetlands, and manoeuvrability of vehicles, size restrictions apply. Sites will suit campervans (7.5 m or less), but will NOT be suitable for caravans. Caravans, trailers and tents are NOT permitted.
UNSUITABLE for CHILDREN and PETS:
Forest Gate is a working farm. There are regularly livestock in the paddocks adjacent to the Winter Wetlands. There is also an open dam and a communal fireplace in the Winter Wetlands.
Due to our insurance policy, we can not allow children or pets. Therefore, stays in the Winter Wetlands are only available to adults.

Sam, Chris and their menagerie of gorgeous animals, most of which have been rescued are the most beautiful beings that walked this earth!! When we arrived they were so accommodating re which site we could have as lucky 🍀 for us, they were strangely available so we picked the “horse arena” site for our Hybrid caravan. Next time we will be staying at “The Hut”. We were gifted home made biscuits and their chickens egg and they spent time with us feeding the animals and then 2 days later a while morning with our grandkids.
If you don’t book here, you have missed a piece of heaven on earth hosted by a divine couple!!

Woodland campsite is a peaceful, secluded campsite with many thoughtful additions. The campsite was private but easy to locate and access.
We appreciated the two great firepits, a shelter with picnic table, toilet and plenty of space. An easy drive to the Murray River, Bowhill and beyond.
Booking and was so easy and informative, Lynette is a great host. Thanks Lynette, we will be back!

We had such a wonderful experience staying at The Hut! The place is absolutely stunning.. peaceful, beautifully set up, and the views are just breathtaking. It’s the perfect spot to relax and disconnect.
Sam was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the little welcome treat was such a thoughtful touch. You can really feel the care and effort that’s been put into creating such a special space.

We’ve had the most lovely three-night reset, only a couple of hours from Adelaide, and it truly feels like we’ve discovered a hidden gem.
The property is fully fenced and gated, which meant our dog Kelly could be off-leash after a full perimeter inspection (of course). She was absolutely in her element. It’s incredibly dog-friendly and completely private, set on a peaceful lagoon fed by the Murray.
Access was easy in a 2WD, although we brought our 4WD towing our OPUS camper. Our site was shaded by a majestic gum tree right on the water’s edge – the kind of spot you don’t want to leave.
The birdlife is abundant – especially at dusk and dawn. Some might call it raucous, but we loved every minute of it. It added to the magic of the place.
The lagoon was safe for swimming and paddleboarding, and there are plenty of fish to be caught straight off the jetty. The host was truly delightful – welcoming us upon arrival, helpful with insights of the lcoal area and clearly proud of what they’ve created.
We take the opportunity to visit Walker Flat and Swan Reach for a swim at the beach and a picnic under the shade, watching the ski boats and jet skis go by. Picking up some more ice and a newspaper for our GNTs.
We were fully self-contained and made sure to pick up after Kelly – it was lovely to see that most other guests clearly do the same. It makes such a difference in a place like this.
Kelly was happy. We are chuffed. We’ll absolutely be back.

This property is located at the rear of the owner's land and is essentially a large paddock bordered by trees. Access was straightforward, following clear signage from the main road to the gate. During our visit in summer, the grass was dry, and a fire ban was in place. I can imagine this would be an ideal spot for a winter getaway, with a fire.
Over the weekend, we had the entire area to ourselves and found a beautifully shaded spot to relax. We explored the property, including walking around the dam, and enjoyed encounters with a friendly horse and sheep. Our cat especially loved roaming the grounds and embraced his wild side.
The temperature was about 10 degrees cooler than Adelaide—if Adelaide was 35°C, it was about 27°C here. In the evening the weather became even cooler, needing warm clothing.
Shannon, our host, stopped by to greet us and was both friendly and welcoming. The property is very quiet, with the sound of the sea in the background. There are picturesque views of the surrounding hills and old grapevines.
I would recommend this location to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat away from caravan parks. The site is suitable only for self-contained visitors.

Loved our return trip to Woodland Scrub. There is something magical about this place at night. The stars were amazing on Saturday night!! Woodland Scrub is a great place to escape the busyness of life and get back to basics of bush camping. Being able to take our dogs is an added bonus.
This wasn’t our first trip and guaranteed won’t be our last.

Beautifully kept grounds ~ you can see the work that is put into it to keep the grass so green and the amenities spotless.
Nicest laundry/toilets we have seen on our trip and recommend the walk down to the water’s edge.
Highly recommend but be aware that it is on a busy road so noise at the cliff top sites is dependant on the wind

What a beautiful, welcoming stay we had at Tilbrook Estate. We stayed up among the vines near the water tank. James & Annabell were fantastic hosts, you may get a free coffee in the morning, have a chat after hours with James, they even offered to drop us back to our car at winery nearby after having an event there. Blackberries galore to pick if in season.
Beautiful views to wake up to, with sunsets too
Definitely will be back one weekend with friends to have lunch & a stay& we only live 40mins away

Beautiful riverside spot in the Riverland. We camped right by the river and it was incredibly peaceful — waking up to the water and birdlife was the highlight. Plenty of space, very quiet, and felt nicely secluded without being hard to access.
Would absolutely stay again and highly recommend if you’re after a relaxed, nature-filled Riverland escape 🌿

A lovely quiet place in the hills for your overnight stay. Annabelle and James were very welcoming. We parked our caravan at the back of the car park as the cellar door was busy on arrival and went inside to enjoy a wine tasting and Tapas. The cellar door closes at 5pm so there was lots more space and we were offered other places to park up. We were happy at our current location and didn’t move as we had a lovely view of the hills. There are tables and lighting outside the venue which James left on for us so we could sit and take in the view during the evening.
Just one element to note is the drive into the property is up a short but very steep gravel road. Not a worry for us as my husband is a confident driver. We are towing a 19ft caravan.
