Be a happy camper in this semi-rural, reservoir-side Adelaide suburb.
A southern suburb of Adelaide, Happy Valley camping is ideal for those who want to be close to the city without being in its urban core. The suburb’s location beside the Happy Valley Reservoir means it has retained a rural feel despite being near the city, with parklands containing native vegetation and a golf course around the reservoir. It’s an especially family-friendly place, with open areas to play yet within easy reach of amenities. Other national parks and reserves with further camping options are nearby and on the outskirts of Adelaide, including the Sturt Gorge Recreation Park, the Belair National Park, and the small towns and rolling landscapes of the Adelaide Hills, where you can look out for caravan parks and tent campsites with fire pits and picnic tables. And although Happy Valley is inland, it’s only a short drive to beautiful beaches and the Coast Park Trail at O’Sullivan’s Beach.
