Such a great bush camp with motorbike track. Helpful and communicative host, peaceful and so much space. Rubbish bins provided as well as fire pits. Hard to find a place that allows motorbikes but this camp even has a motorbike track which provided hours of entertainment for the kids. We absolutely will be back, a new fave!

It was very windy at the start of our stay, but we were able to find a large flat site protected from the wind. The site was very good for solar which is important for us. The Hipcamp was close to all the sites in the north of Kangaroo Island. We enjoyed our stay that much we stayed an extra night.

It's also close to the brewery, distillery and various wineries. Lastly, we had an issue with our car during our stay and Steve came to our aid at short notice. Much appreciated!

On weekends we have a grassed strip, 8 metres wide, between a vineyard block and a windbreak. Which overlooks the valley behind and distant hills to the front. Being self contained is essential. Our toilets are only accessible when the cellar door is open. Under 18ft vans will easily fit, but care also needed. Family hobby farm on six green acres in the historical town of Clarendon (Toondilla), just half an hour south of Adelaide. Set in a gully with a winter creek (Willow Creek) running through (dry in warmer months). Conveniently located within walking distance to the main street of Clarendon - five minutes to the Bakery and 10 minutes to the Royal Oak Hotel and General Store! The property offers the best views of Clarendon via a short walk to the top paddock. There is a limit of 2 private, protected campsites near the creek, each well-maintained and level, with scattered gum trees that provide lovely shade in the morning and afternoon. Camp Toondilla is set up for self-contained campers who bring their own camp toilet and take all waste with them when they go. Well-behaved pets are welcome. We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, 2 cheeky pigs, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use. BUSHFIRE SEASON: Wood and open fires are not permitted in the bushfire season, therefore you will not be able to use the fire pits.
