Two kayaks and red claw pots available for guests to use in Somerset Dam. Water access 2 mins away via prior arrangement through Camp Somerset. Or public day areas, The Spit and O'Sheas crossing around 10mins away. One part of the gravel driveway is steep, so a vehicle with some clearance is advised. ***All campers need to be self sufficient with toilet and shower. Dump point in nearby town.*** (Or portaloo available to hire via extras when you book) Fire pit available and fire wood available for a $20 fee with your booking request. Christmas Creek Cedar Cabin is a Tiny Home in the Scenic Rim. Positioned on a hill above Christmas Creek to take in the views, were you can watch the sun rise over Little Widgee Mountain and the sun set over the mountains to the west. This fully contained cabin is approximately 30 square metres and features a small veranda out the front facing Little Widgee Mountain and Buchanans Fort. Sit back and relax on the bench seat or table and chairs. A larger veranda out the back faces Christmas Creek and the mountains to the west. Relax on the deck chairs and read a book, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while watching the wildlife. There’s a table with chairs to enjoy your breakfast or dinner outside.The loft bedroom has a queen bed. There’s reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you comfortable. The kitchen is self contained with a small microwave/oven, a 60 cm ceramic cooktop, a medium size fridge/freezer, a toaster and kettle. Absolutely loved staying here. So beautiful and peaceful, I live in my caravan full time and I didn’t want to leave. Mitch and Holly are both so kind and accomodating. Will be back someday. Nice spot along a running creek swimming area was great for us and our dogs. Quiet and spacious. Only thing I would say is our site didn’t have any grass cover and was all mud compared to other sites. Other than that it was a good spot.

Absolutely lovely spot right next to the dam. Light breeze most days. Space between campers. Maintained by wonderful hosts who weren't intrusive but did come down to check on us on occasion (we were here in the big supercell storm!) Couple of things to point out to future campers. Is there some machinery and stuff on the property like said in another review, yes. Does it effect your view and experience, NO. This is a working property, not a holiday resort. All equipment is with the owners main house and nowhere near the campsites. And also, bring mozzie spray. Like anywhere near water after dark the mozzies do come out as they always do. It also shares a fence with another hipcamp property next door so there are other ppl around but I don't think it effects your stay as everyone on both sides are respectful of their surroundings. All in all I think this was a gem to discover and we will definitely be booking again. Thanks Mitch n Hollie for their lovely hospitality n opening their home to us all.

Amazing spot! Campsite 5 is our favourite Hipcamp site yet! Secluded, enough shade, well maintained and the creek is crystal clear and deep enough to take a dip. Doggos loved the open field with more than enough space to go crazy! We have already rebooked for the next availability. Can’t wait!

We stayed in our swag with our doggos. Bebe was a lovely host, very friendly and great communication. Dog friendly site, great walks and an amazing view up the top! Had some wallabies pass through camp, a large roo hanging nearby and heard the deer. Would highly recommend.

Having some experience now with off-grid camping, the Magic Pond is value for the price you pay. The camping spot is nice, easy to access and big enough to give you some privacy. Not enough space to go for long walks with the dog, but Beachmere, Bribie or Brisbane are not a long drive away. Midges are a bit of a bother some times of the year, and nothing seems to keep them away! A smudging fire, or go to bed ...

Beautiful camping spot and lovely hosts. The surrounding areas are gorgeous also. However, we weren't able to swim anywhere as no dogs are allowed at any swimming areas. Lovely views from thr camp-site of the hills and the dam.

Easy to find and lovely spot between 2 lakes, the purple lilies were so beautiful and taking the property kayaks out to paddle through them was just stunning. Couldn't locate the fire wood so sourced from another place. Mozzy's can be fierce so be prepared. I used Thermacell Mosquito Repellent Unit from BCF and it did an excellent job, covered 21m area for 12 hours, cost approx. $60 for a number of times with gas refills and repellent pads. I would stay again, beautiful spot.
