Plenty of friendly wildlife including birds, wedgetail eagles, kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, goannas, bandicoots, betongs, dingos and red deer. Two kayaks and red claw pots available for guests to use in Somerset Dam. Water access 2 mins away via prior arrangement through Camp Somerset. Or public day areas, The Spit and O'Sheas crossing around 10mins away. One part of the gravel driveway is steep, so a vehicle with some clearance is advised. ***All campers need to be self sufficient with toilet and shower. Hillview Drive Mountain Bike Trail and Brisbane Valley Rail Trail are a short walk/bike ride from the property. Warrego Warmblood Stud is an operational horse training property set on a secluded 60 acres just outside Woodford. There is a lovely private dam to camp beside or in amongst some beautiful trees with no one in ear shot, or you can camp in the empty paddock. Or Book a Horseback Forest Trail Ride . Campfires are permitted within local regulations. The campsites are dog friendly (on a lead). There are no amenities here, campers must BYO camping toilet. Allowed small fires and some timber available in the paddocks. Woodford is a little taste of country right on the city’s doorstep. An easy day trip from Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, this quaint and quiet town is a perfect getaway destination with a little something for everyone. The Woodford region is steeped in history and retains much of its yesteryear charm. The historic pub still stands proudly on the main road through town, while quaint turn-of-the-century buildings house quirky shops and eateries.

Shhhhh - Don't tell anyone how great this camp site is. Right on the edge of a creek, grassy and flat, wildlife, privacy, good fire pit. We will be back

I've lost count of how many times I've camped here! I travel with Dogs, so this spot is spacious enough that we can relax when we need to, swim & go for trail sniffs if we want to, watch the birds & jets, or shelter from sun/rain as necessary under one of the multiple structures or abundance of trees 🥰🐶 Thanks to the kindness of the hosts (who are also Dog lovers) & the locked gate, we always feel safe here!

Thanks Bryce, we had a great 3 nites at this site. Plenty of shade to set our camper up in. Creek right in front of the site with a decent size and deep clear swimming hole. Perfect for a refreshing dip and float to around in. Every now and again a little noise from the road, however you are far enough in not to feel too exposed! We checked out Bryce’s other site.. Silky Oak which was a lot more private with 2 deeper swimming holes…keen to try that one next time 🙂

We booked quite late in the evening & it was really lovely Samantha returned to our enquiry promptly. The campsite is really well set out, we were lucky to be the only ones there. Small amount of road noise from the nearby highway but the birds chirping in the trees & surrounded by bush far outweighed the any downsides. Toilet was clean & flushable. Enjoyed our stay even though just for one night. Thanks Samantha

Weekend Trip to Warrego Warmblood Stud

It was our first time camping here and we will be coming back. We were camped far enough away from everyone that we felt really secluded. The friendly horses visiting our camp were a big hit. They were very cheeky and very inquistive. The goanna that went up the tree near us didn't want to stay for a chat. We did have a not so friendly visit of a red bellied black snake making its way through our camp. It soon slithered away not bothering us after it reslised we were there. Good reminder for making sure all of us especially the kids are snake aware and you carry appropriate first aid. All in all it was a fantastic camp with an abundance of creatures great and small for us to watch.

Weekend Trip to Warrego Warmblood Stud

Definitely be going back. Nice secluded camp site at Sandons Dam. Horses were amazing. They got a bit curious with the camp when we went out for a few hours lol. Mozzies come out right at dusk but then disappeared within an hour. Hosts were easy to communicate with. Dom the on site dog is a sweetheart and loves cuddles. There is telstra reception available, so I got to watch the Broncos win the grand final from the camp site! Cheers Robert we will be back.
