Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. Unplug and unwind at our 22 acre camping paradise nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Listen to the babbling water sounds of Scrubby Creek and the Mary River that meandering through the perimeter of the property for over 1 kilometer. Stroll through our mini rainforest, paddle in the creek or have a dip in one of the many rock pools. We will even let you build as many rock towers as you like! Throw an inner tube in the creek and float around while the kids laugh and play all day long. Let the kids dig holes or fossick for the perfect skimming rocks, ride bikes or play endless games on the beautiful landscaped grass. Plenty of trees to put up that hammock or soak in the creek with views overlooking the wilderness. Sit back and gaze at the starlit skies while the kids roast yet another marshmallow on the campfire. Snuggle up during winter and cool down around the rainforest in summer. Abundant wildlife, lots of kangaroos and wallabies, koalas and beautiful birds everywhere. Please be aware that weekends are family times and do get busy with extra people. During the week it is very quiet and you could have the whole place to yourself. This camp site and setup went above and beyond our expectations. Was extremely tidy and very thoughtful with how it was set up! Will definitely be returning and recommend everyone give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Weekend Trip to Woombye Rainforest Escape

We were so surprised pulling up to this camp. Super private and surrounded by sounds of the rainforest. The host was incredible and provided things we didn’t even realise we needed, and we’re usually very well prepared! The host went above and beyond with this camp. The camp ground was beautiful and well maintained. We took a short walk up stream and saw the rock pools, so pretty and they would be great after lots of rain! We loved this as soon as we arrived, we will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Riverdell_Country

Access isn’t for amateurs this track means business. Arrive before dark (seriously), and BYO water there’s no tap, no picnic tables, just a fire pit and a tree for a company. What you get? Rolling hills, grazing cattle, and views that make the effort worth every gear shift. Sunrise and sunset here are pure magic. Bottom line: If you’re faint-hearted, stick to Netflix. If you’re game, this site l will make you feel like camping royalty after you conquer the decent.

Weekend Trip to Riverdell_Country

Beautiful Little Bunya! Amazing valley views and super cool spot for a weekend away. It's a great place to camp to visit Maleny, Mary Cairncross, Clouds winery across the road and the local waterfalls. We bought firewood and kindling at the property for the must have campfires both nights - with the cooler nights they were well and truly welcomed. The portaloos were really clean and campsite was well maintained, with a fire put ready to go, thank you. There was great communication from Spencer and Carolyn over the weeks leading up to our trip and well communicated instructions and guidelines. We appreciate the beautiful property that's been shared with us campers! Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Bellthorpe Stays

We had a great time at Bellthorpe Stays. Dave was a welcoming and informative Host who was happy to tell us about the property, walks, and wildlife. The property offers many walking trails and has waterfalls and scenic views as well as a communal fire pit area, and the old dairy shed which is stocked with books, DVDs and games to borrow. The Host’s dogs were friendly and like taking guests on walks. We enjoyed feeding the birds on the deck in the mornings, especially the king parrots who ate from our hands. Such a peaceful setting filled with the sounds of birds and frogs.

3 nights at Woombye Rainforest Escape

A very relaxing camp set in a lovely cleared area in the rainforest. Thoughtfully laid out with shelter, chairs, hammocks and other things to make guests feel welcomed and relaxed. We stopped in Woombye for coffee and lunch and Palmwoods for breakfast. Love this part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland!

From the moment we arrived at A Place To Call Home and met Thea we knew this place was pretty special. Thea could not be more helpful and took the time to help us find the perfect site for us. Which it definitely was! This would be up there being one of our favourite camping spots. It was just so beautiful, relaxing and calming. The serenity was amazing. We were happy to sit in the creek on the chairs provided by Thea, relax and enjoy the arvo with a drink and watch the day pass by and the wildlife too! Highly recommend A Place To Call Home!

Weekend Trip to Riverdell_Country

Had a great experience at Riverdell fantastic campsite in such beautiful surroundings. We camped at the Knoll. Views for days. Provided toilet was the cleanest portaloo I've ever seen. Hosts were super helpful and great coms. The meat products were amazing too. Only comment would be - listen to the hosts on vehicle advice. It’s quite a climb in and out.

Friendly and welcoming hosts, beautiful quiet valley, and peaceful verdent views! I've never seen so many eagles in one place! Lots of lovely birds and even a dear across the hillside. 10/10 we will be returning :)

What a cracking campsite! Our spot was private, peaceful and near the creek where we cooled off with a tasty bevvy while our dog lived his best life playing in the water. Thea, Gary and the kids were awesome hosts - friendly and making sure we had everything we needed with their daily check-ins. Highly recommend.

What a gem in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Totally relaxing for our group and dogs. Lots of playtime in the Mary river. Happy hour on Friday night with dsmper - a great welcoming gesture. Gary & Thea are experienced campers and understand what you want. We'd love to come back!
