Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. Unplug and unwind at our 22 acre camping paradise nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Listen to the babbling water sounds of Scrubby Creek and the Mary River that meandering through the perimeter of the property for over 1 kilometer. The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Trail rides, horse/ pony riding lessons (on our horses) and guided trails on your own horses are available if you need a guide through the extensive trails in the state forest. Stirling’s Crossing is situated in the Mary Valley on a lush 150 acre Equestrian property, which is bordered by the Yabba Creek and the Imbil State Forest. Our spacious level sites are surrounded by lush paddocks and beautiful scenery. Large drive-thru sites perfect for buses and big rigs, there’s plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful farm setting. Guests can also bring their horses to Stirlings Crossing as Imbil State forest is perfect for horse back trail riding. Horse yards can be set up on request. The Tom Quilty has been held here twice before and will be held here again in 2026. Other endurance events are also held here during the year. There is an extra $10 charge per horse per night. Unfortunately there are no horses available here to hire. It is just over 100km north of Brisbane. The town of Imbil is only 6km away and has a recently opened IGA with all the supplies you need. There is also a bakery, 2 coffee shops, a pub with great meals, and a well equipped petrol station. There are markets every Sunday in the Main Street. Borumba Dam is 4.5kms up the road. It is perfect for boating enthusiasts who want to fish or do various water sports. The property has a large modern ammenities block. * Ladies toilet and shower amenities x 5 * Mens toilet and shower amenities x 4 * Disabled/Family bathroom x 2 There are limited powered sites available on request. There is access to the Yabba Creek for kayaking, swimming and fishing. You can also access the Imbil State forest either by 4wd, trail bike or mountain bike. This is a breeding and training horse facility so could guests please stay away from fenced off paddocks and the large horse complex. We stayed at the Mountain View site at Yabba Creek Farm and had the most amazing time. The site is spacious, has a purpose built shelter, and is beautifully green, with stunning views all around. The shelter that’s been built is fantastic — open and airy, allowing the breeze through while still providing great cover. Having a hooked-up shower was an added bonus, and being so close to the river made the experience even more special. Kaylea and Dean are wonderful hosts. They have created a peaceful, well thought out, and truly wonderful place to relax and reconnect with nature. We can’t wait to come back — highly, highly recommend!

We were on Grey Gums site. Lovely campsite - plan to stay again! Huge space allocated - could fit multiple families. Each site has a fire pit. Creek was clean and lovely to swim in morning and afternoon. Loved seeing the horses galloping in the paddock just 30m away. Kids loved the animal petting - chickens, Guinea pig, blue tongue lizard, turkey, pony ride! Felt very private and relaxing with so much space around us.

Beautiful, large well kept sites with lawn. The Silky Oak site was shady during the day and conveniently close to both toilets and the rustic outdoor shower. We appreciate the 'maximum people per site' rule because it cant get too busy. Also loved the 'no loud music' rule! Hosts met us on arrival and were helpful and friendly, providing information regarding the camp grounds and the surrounding area etc. The access to the water from our site was a very short, easy walk. The water was amazing in that it was clean and gradually got deeper - suitable for both children and adults. We will definitely be back!

From the moment we arrived at A Place To Call Home and met Thea we knew this place was pretty special. Thea could not be more helpful and took the time to help us find the perfect site for us. Which it definitely was! This would be up there being one of our favourite camping spots. It was just so beautiful, relaxing and calming. The serenity was amazing. We were happy to sit in the creek on the chairs provided by Thea, relax and enjoy the arvo with a drink and watch the day pass by and the wildlife too! Highly recommend A Place To Call Home!

We stayed in Hidden Gem for 2 nights and can’t wait to go back! This is a piece of paradise - green, spacious, quiet and peaceful. You have private entry to the Yabba Creek which is beautiful to swim and kayak in. There is a tap and hose for town water on site and the toilets are less than a 5-minute walk away. The host, Dean, was super friendly and helpful with tips and information about the area. The entire property is beautifully maintained. Our dog was welcome and loved it as much as we did.

Loved camping at the ‘Stones throw’ site at Yabba creek! It had great access to the water for swimming and the creek was a lovely peaceful place to go out kayaking (kayaks provided). The whole property was beautiful and we loved how private our site was from the rest of the farm. Lovely place for the dog to run around and Kaylea and dean were very friendly and checked in on us after storms, they also made sure to let us know about all the walking paths and facilities around which was very helpful. No bins or showers but the site had a hose and the town just five mins up the road had plenty of skip bins available.
